OMAA AD 2.22 FLIGHT PROCEDURES ATC CLEARANCE DELIVERY Via Frequency With the exception of aircraft parked on Abu Dhabi General Aviation (ADAT) apron and Presidential Flight Apron, departing aircraft shall contact ABU DHABI DELIVERY frequency Mhz to obtain the ATC clearance or request clearance via Data Link only when fully ready to push and start. The following information should be passed: a. Aircraft Callsign; b. Aircraft Type, and for aircraft in the heavy wake turbulence category the word "Heavy"; c. Parking Stand; d. Ready to push and start ABU DHABI DELIVERY will issue ATC clearance to aircraft ready for pushback and start. Pilot will then be instructed to monitor ABU DHABI GROUND frequency Mhz and standby for ATC call. ABU DHABI GROUND will inform ready aircraft of any delay exceeding 5 minutes and provide an estimate. If no contact is made by ATC after 5 minutes of monitoring pilots shall contact Ground Movement Control to receive an estimate for pushback and start. To facilitate the most expeditious movement of ready aircraft, pilots not ready to pushback and start when instructed

13 OMAA 13 of 33 18/08/ :54 to do so by ATC shall expect to wait for further pushback instructions. Flights subject to flow control with slot time shall request their ATC clearance and be ready to pushback and start 25 minutes prior to slot expiry time. ABU DHABI GROUND will instruct those pilots to pushback and start 25 minutes prior to slot expiry time Via Data link service ACARS ATC clearance to departing aircraft (DCL) is available at OMAA using Data link service via ACARS. Pilots may request DCL Clearance by sending RCD message not earlier than 30 minutes prior to EO BT. If the content of ATC clearance received is accepted, the received clearance should be acknowledged by sending CDA message. If receipt of the clearance has not been acknowledged within 10 minutes, the system will consider an error has occurred. In the event of an error message pilots should revert to voice message. Once DCL is acknowledged pilots shall report ready for pushback and start on ABU DHABI DELIVERY frequency Mhz. There is no requirement for the read back of a clearance received via data link clearance ABU DHABI DELIVERY will instruct pilots to monitor ABU DHABI GROUND frequency Mhz and standby for ATC call. ABU DHABI GROUND will inform ready aircraft of any delay exceeding 5 minutes and provide an estimate. If no contact is made by ATC after 5 minutes of monitoring pilots shall contact Ground Movement Control to receive an estimate for pushback and start. To facilitate the most expeditious movement of ready aircraft, pilots not ready to pushback and start when instructed to do so by ATC shall expect to wait for further pushback instructions. Flights subject to flow control with slot time shall be ready to pushback and start 25 minutes prior to slot expiry time. ABU DHABI GROUND will instruct those pilots to pushback and start 25 minutes prior to slot expiry time. Voice message shall be used if not data link equipped PUSHBACK AND START UP Pushback approval is valid for 1 minute and pilots must ensure that pushback commences promptly after approval has been obtained ATC may at their discretion delay start-up and pushback approvals to avoid congestion and excessive delays on the manoeuvring area or when warranted by ATFM regulations. ATC will subsequently issue expected start-up times TAXI AND TAKE-OFF ATC may hold taxiing aircraft to absorb possible departure delay, e.g. departing aircraft subject to ATFM regulations Cockpit and security checks shall be completed prior to reaching the runway holding point Departing aircraft shall be ready for departure on reaching the runway holding point, unless otherwise stated Pilots are reminded to pay particular attention to conditional line-up clearances to avoid runway incursions Departures will normally be cleared in the order in which they are ready for take-off, except that deviations may be made from this order of priority to facilitate the maximum number of departures with the least average delay. Factors that ATC will consider in relation to the departure sequence include: a. types of aircraft and their relative performance; b. routes to be followed after take-off; c. any specified minimum departure interval between take-offs; d. need to apply wake turbulence separation minima; e. aircraft which should be afforded priority; and f. aircraft subject to ATFM regulations In order to maximize aircraft departure output at ABU DHABI / INTERNATIONAL, light and medium wake turbulence category aircraft may expect to depart from an intersection detailed in AD 2.13 as standard, during peak traffic periods.

14 OMAA 14 of 33 18/08/ : All applicable aircraft crew are required to advise Abu Dhabi ATC at the earliest opportunity if they are unable to accept an intersection departure ATC requires aircraft to commence its take-off roll within 20 seconds of being cleared for take-off. However, in the interest of expediting traffic, a clearance for immediate take-off may be issued to an aircraft before it enters the runway. On acceptance of such clearance, the aircraft shall taxi out to the runway and take-off in one continuous movement. Non-compliance will result in ATC reporting the occurrence to the Authority for further action AFTER DEPARTURE On initial call a departing aircraft shall pass the following information to Abu Dhabi APP: a. Aircraft Callsign; b. Passing level c. SID designation STANDARD INSTRUMENT DEPARTURES (SID) Departing aircraft shall contact ABU DHABI RADAR as soon as possible after passing 1000 FT, unless otherwise instructed by Abu Dhabi TWR. Note: see ENR for action in the event of radio failure Departing IFR traffic leaving Abu Dhabi CTA while on a SID or under radar control is required to: a. Climb at a minimum gradient of 5% to 8,000 FT (300 FT per NM); b. Observe speed restrictions as per FMS coding tables; c. Level restrictions that apply at waypoints is displayed on the chart; d. Advise ATC at start-up if unable to comply Level Restrictions Initial climb is restricted to 3,000 FT. Further climb clearance as instructed by Abu Dhabi APP When a departing aircraft on a SID is cleared to climb to a level higher than the initially cleared level or the level(s) specified in a SID, the aircraft shall climb directly to the cleared level, unless the SID vertical restrictions are reiterated as part of the clearance For all stages of flight, clearances to climb, cancel any previous restrictions or levels, unless they are reiterated as part of the clearance Aircraft when first approaching a cleared level should ensure that the vertical closure speed is not excessive and must avoid overshooting the cleared level, manually overriding if necessary ATC may cancel a SID and provide direct routing or radar vectoring SID FMS coding tables below.
