Situated below Table Mountain, Devil s Peak and Lion s Head, Cape Town offers a rich cultural and colonial heritage, grand splendour and an assurance of activity of excitement. Including all the `must-sees` of any Cape Town day tour, this option is a geographical and cultural extravaganza, showing you Cape Town, from its historical beginnings of yesteryear to the dazzling modern buildings of today. We visit the well preserved Company Gardens, the S.A. Museum, the Castle of Good Hope and the vibrant and arty flea market, Greenmarket Square. We also take a trip through the colourful and picturesque Malay Quarter known as Bo-Kaap. We end with a cable car trip up the legendary Table Mountain for spectacular views of the Mother City and the surrounding peninsula (weather permitting; cable car fee not included). The rest of the day is at leisure for you to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds the Mother City has to offer. Accommodation: Adderley Hotel (Luxury Suite) Day 3: Cape Point & Peninsula tour OR Winelands tour B Today you have the choice between two full day tours to highlights of the area, either the Cape Point & Peninsula tour or a full day tour in the Winelands. Cape Point and Peninsula Tour This is an awe-inspiring tour to the towering headland known as Cape Point. Magnificent beaches, breathtaking views, historic and picturesque coastal villages are to be seen along the way. The Cape Peninsula is one of the world s most scenic areas and stretches from the City centre to Cape Point. The tour commences at 8:30. We travel along the Atlantic Seaboard via Sea Point, Clifton and Camps Bay, stopping at a Llandudno lookout point before continuing to Hout Bay, a quaint village and fishing harbour with magnificent mountain views and beach. Here you have the option to take a boat trip to Seal Island (seasonal and not included in the cost). We carry on over Chapman s Peak, one of the world s most breathtaking coastal drives, to Cape Point and the Good Hope Nature Reserve. The reserve is rich in magnificent Fynbos vegetation, birdlife, endemic antelope species and zebra, an historic lighthouse and shipwrecks. After lunch at a nearby restaurant (not included in the cost), we travel on to Simon s Town, a village with charming Victorian architecture, a naval base and a large penguin colony at the beautiful Boulders Beach. The tour ends at ± 17:30 after a visit to the well-known Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.

3 Full day Winelands Tour This delightful drive winds its way to the heart of the Cape winelands, through superb mountain ranges, vineyards and Cape Dutch homesteads. The tour commences from 8am and we head off to wine-country via the N1 on to one of the Cape s first farming districts Paarl. The town is set at the foot of a cluster of remarkable granite domes from which it takes its name. Our first stop of the morning is a local wine estate. An informative cellar tour and wine tasting gives visitors personalised insight into the finer points of winemaking. Proceed to the town of Franschhoek, historically dating back to the 17th century when the French Huguenots arrived. Billed as the Gourmet Capital of South Africa, this charming town, in a most picturesque valley, retains a French Huguenot style. Franschhoek complements the artistry of its chefs and winemakers with the breathtaking beauty of its setting. Here we have time to enjoy the fabled culinary skills of the chefs at one of the many award winning restaurants (not included in cost). Onward to Stellenbosch, via the scenic Helshoogte Pass, the heart of the South African wine Industry, boasting great beauty and culture that is steeped in South African history. Walk down the canal-lined avenues, in the shade of giant oak trees and beautifully preserved historic buildings. Coffee shops, galleries, antique shops and wine bars spill onto the sidewalks. An air of quiet intellectualism and wine-making history abounds in this university town. With the sheer vastness of wine estates on offer, we are truly spoilt for choice when we enjoy our final wine tasting of the day in Stellenbosch. We return to the bustle of city life after an enthralling day in the countryside, arriving back at the hotel at approximately 17:30. Cape Town Cape Town has traditionally been the gateway between Europe and Southern Africa and this is still evident in its atmosphere, its playful character, its people and even its architecture. The Mother City as it s known locally has no shortage of attractions. It s a magnetic, multi-cultural city with an array of diverse offerings within a small, accessible area, surrounded by spectacular topography. Spectacular beaches, mountains (incredibly unique bio-diversity), hiking, water-sport, shopping centres, markets, theatres, museums, historical & cultural attractions, a first-rate waterfront, galleries, night-clubs, restaurants and an abundance of activities to suit all, are prolific in this world-class destination. 5 Table Mountain This 1086 m sandstone landmark dominates the city and has to be ascended! This is a fantastic way to gain a perspective on the city, with some breath-taking views of the peninsula, as well as an opportunity to experience the most concentrated, yet diverse, ecosystems in the world. The mountain is home to more than 1450 species of plants, many of which are not found anywhere else in the world, such as the Silver Tree and the wild orchid Disa Uniflora. Table Mountain is classified as the smallest of the six floral kingdoms of the world. The flat top of the mountain is approximately nearly 3 km in length and sees almost a million tourist & hikers per year. Visitors to the top can choose the six-minute trip to the summit via the modern cable car, one of the safest in the world, or alternatively make use of one of the 350 recognized paths all over the mountain. The easiest and quickest of these is the popular Platteklip Gorge route, a path up a ravine clearly visible on the front face of Table Mountain. The summit boasts a modern restaurant, souvenir shop and postal service. The Wine Routes Constantia, a meagre 20 minutes from the city centre, is the birthplace of the wine farming industry in South Africa. Still today, five wine farms in this area produce worldclass wines, recognized for their escalating quality. Further from the city, a drive of approximately 45 minutes north from Cape Town brings you to a region where grand mountains from a dramatic backdrop to lush vineyards and historic gabled Cape Dutch homesteads. Almost 100 wine farms on four wine routes in this region alone boast not only a multitude of award winning wines, but also restaurants, wine tasting and activities. In the wine regions visitors can also experience a number of quaint villages & towns (especially Paarl, Stellenbosch & Franschhoek), cheese shops, a crocodile farm, a cheetah rehabilitation centre, hikes and rivers activities. Robben Island With 150 years of dark, incarceration history, including the 18-year imprisonment of its most famous prisoner, Nelson Mandela, the island is a certain place of interest. After the fall of apartheid, the island was eventually declared a national monument in 1996, formerly opened its doors to the public in 1997, and declared an UNESCO world heritage site in The Robben Island experience begins at Nelson Mandela Gateway to Robben Island, situated in the Clock Tower Precinct at the V&A Waterfront, where four ferries a day leave for the island. Each round trip is three and a half hours long and includes a visit to the maximum-security prison, a bus tour around the island and visits to the penguin boardwalk and museum shop. A number of antelopes can also be spotted on the island.

6 The Victoria & Alfred Waterfront As one of the most successful developments in the history of Southern Africa, the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront is a comprehensive shopping and recreational destination ranking amongst the best waterfronts in the world. It s Cape Town s most popular local attraction and has over a million visitors per year, 70% of which are Capetonian. An array of shops, markets, restaurants, cinemas, a theatre, boat trips, helicopter trips, a brewery, hotels as well as a new residential development can all be found within walking distance and surrounded by a working harbour. Additional attractions worth a visit are the Waterfront Craft Market & the Red Shed craft market, where visitors can watch artists & craftspeople produce as well as buy their wares. The Two Ocean Aquarium offers a constantly updated peak into indigenous Southern African fresh and seawater creatures. Next door to the aquarium the South African Maritime Museum has the largest collection of model ships in the Southern Hemisphere and some fascinating artefacts.
