DT1 - DAY TOURS FROM CAPE TOWN FULL DAY CAPE PENINSULA TOUR ( Daily ) We're headed for Cape Point at the south western tip of the Cape Peninsula, and some of the most spectacular views in the world. The drive there is just as inspiring, passing steep mountains, secluded coves and sweeping beaches, as well as villages and fishing communities. Our tour includes a scenic drive along the Atlantic coast, passing through the cosmopolitan suburbs of Sea Point and Camps Bay with glorious views of the Twelve Apostles, part of the Table Mountain range. We travel to the Cape Point Nature Reserve. Following the coastline along False Bay, we'll return to Cape Town by way of Simon's Town. We visit the Penguin colony at Boulders Beach, Fish Hoek fishing village and Muizenberg. Departs 08h30 and returns at approximately 18h00 from Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) Cost per person ZAR (Cost excludes lunch) DT2 - FULL DAY WINELANDS TOUR ( Daily ) This enchanting excursion begins with a tour through the historic town of Stellenbosch, an architectural jewel that serves as the historic heart of the country s wine region. A gracious blend of 18 th Century Cape Dutch, Georgian and Victorian buildings is evident as we drive down Dorp Street, where massive oaks still shade original water furrows, then enjoy a wine tasting in the Stellenbosch area. We continue on to Franschhoek, which owes its existence to the first French settlers who worked the valley in the 17 th century. Time will be devoted to exploring the town and the memorial to the French Huguenots. The memorial is set in lovely gardens against a backdrop of imposing mountains. Thereafter a visit is made to one of the fine wine 1

2 estates of the Franschhoek Valley, which is internationally recognized for the exceptional quality of their wines. Two wine tastings, a cellar tour and a visit to the Hugenot Museum is included. Departs 08h30 and returns at approximately 18h00 from Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) Cost per person ZAR (Cost excludes lunch) DT4 - FULL DAY CITY, TABLE MOUNTAIN & KIRSTENBOSCH BOTANICAL GARDENS TOUR ( Daily ) Our drive to the city centre takes us past famous landmarks such as the Castle of Good Hope built in 1666 by the Dutch East India Company and City Hall, a baroque building, and the Grand Parade. As we follow the city s main thoroughfare, Adderley Street, we will see St. George s Cathedral, the Anglican Diocese of Nobel Peace Laureate Archbishop Desmond Tutu. We will pass the Company Gardens and the Malay Quarter [also known as the Bo-Kaap] which means "Above Cape" because of its location up against the slopes of Table Mountain. Our route then leads us to Kloof Nek and the magnificent Table Mountain. We'll ascend to the top [weather permitting] by the revolving cable car. On a 2

3 clear day it is even possible to see Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned. Descend from the Upper Cableway station to your awaiting coach. Hereafter we travel to the world renowned botanical gardens of Kirstenbosch, where we have tea before going walk about in this awesome botanical wonderland situated on the slopes of Table Mountain. These gardens were established when the mining magnate and philanthropist Cecil Rhodes donated this piece of land to the people of South Africa. The garden is home to of the species of flora to be found in South Africa, creating a most remarkable natural display. Departs 08h30 and returns at approximately 18h00 from Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) Cost per person ZAR (Cost excludes lunch and tea ) DT3 - FULL DAY HERMANUS TOUR ( Daily ) This picturesque tour takes you over the mountains to the seaside town of Hermanus. Set between mountains and the sea, Hermanus is not only very striking but offers some of the greatest land based opportunities for whale watching in the world (June November). Once we have traversed Sir Lowry s Pass and enter the Elgin valley, a stop at Paul Cluver Estate allows us to enjoy a wine tasting in this apple growing area. On the drive back we follow the coastline, which gives further possibility of whale (and even dolphin) sightings. A stop is made at Stony Point, near Betty s Bay to see the penguin colony (Time permitting). In the afternoon return to Cape Town via Sir Lowry s Pass. 3

5 DT5 - FULL DAY AQUILA PRIVATE SAFARI TOUR ( Daily ) The safari is led by an experienced guide who will share exciting inside stories: facts about your surroundings, easily rousing your inner wild side. The Cape Town safari day tour includes a welcoming drink, buffet lunch, and cool off dips at one of two breathtaking swimming pools. All safaris are in an open 4 x 4 safari vehicle. 7 Constantia is a rich and diverse destination of its own within Cape Town. This famous excursion begins with a tour through Constantia, Simon Van der Stel founded Constantia's first wine farm, Groot Constantia in We continue in the country's oldest estate which is often referred to as the birthplace of South African wine. Historic manor houses and museums pay testament to the heritage of this region, with a cellar tour and tasting. We pass through the vineyards, with panoramic views over the valley and False Bay where the Atlantic Ocean hits sun kissed beaches. Departs 08h00 and returns at approximately 13h00 from Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) Cost per person ZAR (Cost excludes lunch) DT8 - HALF DAY ROBBEN ISLAND (subject to weather and availability) 08:00 Collection from your hotel and transfer to the Robben Island Museum, located at the V & A Waterfront. 09:00 Begin with a ferry trip to Robben Island, a half hour trip across Table Bay to the famous world heritage site where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for nearly 30 years. Not always a prison, it served as a training and defence station in World War II and a hospital ( ) for people with leprosy and the mentally and chronically ill who were outcasts of society. A tour of the island will include a visit to the Maximum Security Prison, interaction with an ex-political prisoner, a 45-minute bus ride with a guide providing commentary and the opportunity to explore the Murray's Bay Harbour precinct attractions, such as the Muslim shrine, or Kramat, and the Museum Shop. 12:30 Return by ferry to the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront and transfer to your hotel (return at approximately 13h30). 7

Between the islands of Geyser Rock and Dyer Islands is a narrow and shallow channel called Shark Alley reputed to be the world s best place for Great White shark cage diving. Due to the resident seal colonies in the area, Shark Alley has been dubbed the the supermarket for sharks. A short boat ride from Gansbaai, Shark Alley is ideal for those who wish to experience the thrill of getting up close and personal with these giant predators, but who do not possess a dive certification. 11 DTA11 - HALF DAY GUIDED HIKING TOUR TABLE MOUNTAIN ( weather permitting ) The hike takes you up Platteklip Gorge which is the most popular route up Table Mountain and offers spectacular views of Cape Town, the harbour, Lions Head and Devils Peak. This trail is guaranteed to test your physical and mental abilities. Do not be fooled by its short distance of only 3 km. Table Mountain is more than 500 million years old and is situated in the Cape Floral Kingdom which has more plant species per square kilometre than the Amazon Jungle. The Cape Floral region is incredibly diverse boasting more than 7000 plant species of which 70 % are endemic to the area and found nowhere else in the world. Table Mountain reaches 1086 metres above sea level at its peak and offers exceptional hiking for all levels of experience. This hike takes between 1 and 3 hours depending on fitness level. 12 DTA12 - ABSEIL and HIKE TOUR - TABLE MOUNTAIN ( weather permitting ) If you are craving adventure and throwing yourself off the side of Table Mountain is not enough, then combine it with a hike up the Mountain. Hikers enjoy Table Mountain throughout the year with every season offering its own special rewards. The Platteklip Gorge hike, although tough and not for the faint hearted offers amazing views and beautiful scenery. Hikers are able to enjoy the pleasure of being surrounded by unspoiled nature. The floral species found on Table Mountain form part of the Fynbos (Fine leaved) biome and are characterised by hard, tough and leathery leaves. More than 70% of these species are endemic to the area and found nowhere else in the world. Descending down the side of a sheer cliff you will have Camps Bay, the Atlantic Seaboard and the deep blue ocean at your feet with the Twelve Apostles at your side. The Table 12

13 Mountain Abseil is guaranteed to get your pulse racing. The overall experience will take about 45 minutes to an hour.
