2 This booklet contains general and logistical information about the Annual Meeting. For the most current information, participants are invited to visit the annual meeting website regularly ( before and during the meetings. INTRODUCTION ABOUT THE IsDB GROUP ANNUAL MEETING The Board of Governors of the Islamic Development Bank Group (IsDB Group) holds an annual meeting to discuss development issues and institutional matters. The meeting attracts over than 1,000 participants and offers an ideal platform for decision makers to discuss challenges and explore opportunities facing IsDB Group member countries.

3 VENUE The opening ceremony of the Annual Meeting will take place at the Pavillion Hall, Gammarth. The working sessions will be held at the Four Seasons Hotel. Various seminars and fora of interest to member countries will be organized at Ramada Plaza Hotel, Gammarth.

4 The following meetings will take place on April 2018 (Annex I): PROGRAMME 43 rd Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) 25 th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Investment and Export Credit (ICIEC) 11 th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development (ISFD) 18 th General Assembly of the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD) 13 th General Assembly of the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC) The Annual Meeting of the IsDB Group is also an occasion during which the following institutions hold their general assemblies: The Association of Development Financing Institutions in Member Countries of the Islamic Development Bank (ADFIMI) The Federation of Consultants from Islamic Countries (FCIC) The Federation of Contractors from Islamic Countries (FOCIC)

5 SEMINARS AND FLAGSHIP EVENTS: The seminars and flagship events that take place during the week of the Annual Meeting will feature top-level panelists from Government, the private sector, academia and civil society. The three-day side events programme provides a vibrant platform to discuss economic, finance and development issues of current interest to IsDB Group stakeholders. The side events aim to encourage discussion and debate, promote partnership, cooperation and knowledge sharing. These events are open to all registered participants. The full schedule of events will be published closer to the Meetings date at the Annual Meeting website.

6 REGISTRATION AND ACCREDITATION REGISTRATION Participants are requested to register on-line by following the step by step process explained on the Annual Meeting website (www. isdb-am43.org) through the Registration tab by using the Registration code included in the invitation letter. Participants are requested to complete registration, flight details and hotel bookings no later than 9 March ACCREDITATION The Annual Meeting Registration counter will be located at Ramada Plaza Gammarth and will open at 8:00 am on Saturday 31 st March through the close of the meetings on 05 th April, All participants are urged to register promptly. Participants are required to show passports or other means of government-issued photo identification to obtain their badges. ID BADGES ID badges will be required for admission to the Plenary Meetings, meeting rooms and offices. Participants are required to wear their ID badges at all times while at the Annual Meeting s venue. Lost or missing badges should be reported immediately to the Registration Counter at the Annual Meeting s venue. Annual Meeting s badges must bear a current photograph of the registrant, hence participants should upload a recent photo while registering online.

7 PASSPORT AND VISA REQUIREMENTS All participants should ensure that passports are valid for at least six months from the date of entry to the Republic of Tunisia and ensure they obtain a valid visa (where required) prior to entering the country. In case a visa is required, it is highly recommended that the visa application be made as early as possible to allow sufficient time for processing. For countries where Tunisia has diplomatic or consular representation, visa applications must be submitted directly to the local Tunisian Embassy or Consulate. For countries where there is no Tunisian diplomatic or consular representation, participants may be granted visas upon arrival to Tunis Carthage International Airport. (Annex II: Required visa for IsDB Member Countries). TRAVEL TO AND FROM TUNIS It is expected that Governors, Alternate Governors and delegates will make their own travel arrangements to and from Tunis. Governors, Alternate Governors and other delegates are encouraged to arrange for their arrival and return flight reservations as early as possible to secure the flights and dates of their choice. LOGISTICAL INFORMATION

8 AIRPORT RECEPTION AT TUNIS-CARTHAGE AIRPORT Protocol officers will be available at Tunis Carthage International Airport to expedite entry and departure formalities for delegates. For each Governor of a member country of the IsDB, one official car and a driver will be provided. Shuttle buses will be available to transport participants from the airport to the official hotels and from these hotels to the venue of the Annual Meeting. CUSTOMS Imports of military- and security-related equipment are tightly controlled and only allowed under license. Currency exceeding 10,000 TND or the equivalent in foreign currency must be declared to the authorities when entering Tunisia.

9 MEDIA LIAISON OFFICERS A Media Center will be setup at the Annual Meeting s venue to enable journalists and media representatives to work properly. A detailed programme of activities before and during the Annual Meeting will be provided. Media representatives are requested to contact the Communication Desk at the Media Centre for information about the Annual Meeting s programme and activities, or any requests for formal interviews. A liaison officer will be assigned to each Governor to assist him/her throughout the period of the Annual Meeting.

10 The Secretariat of the Annual Meeting has made an initial block booking at the Four Seasons Hotel Tunis for the IDB Governors. HOTEL ACCOMMODATION The Annual Meeting Secretariat has negotiated special rates with selected hotels that are close to the Annual Meeting s venue, as shown in the table below. Governors, Alternate Governors and Delegates are requested to make their own hotel booking. Please consult the Annual Meeting website for the means of booking, and the reservation s deadline for each hotel. After the deadline, availability of rooms and hotels at the rates negotiated by the IsDB may not be applicable. HOTELS POLICIES Please check the hotel s policy for check-in and checkout time. Early check-in or late checkout must be arranged directly with the hotel. Cancelling or changing reservation depends on the hotel s policy. Please refer to the hotel of your choice for further information on the charges and penalties. All participants are requested to settle their own hotel bills (telephone calls, room service, laundry, etc.) before checking-out.

12 BANKING SERVICES SHUTTLE BUS MEDICAL FACILITIES GENERAL SERVICES Limited banking services, including foreign exchange, will be available in the Annual Meeting s venue. These services are also available at most hotels. ATM machines can be found in different areas throughout the Annual Meeting s venue. Regular shuttle bus service will be available for all participants between the Official Hotels and the Annual Meeting s venue. Participants who opt to reside in non-official hotels should make their own transportation arrangements. For more information on shuttle schedules, please visit the Annual Meeting s website. Medical facilities will be available in the Annual Meeting s venue and selected hotels. Physicians and nurses will be on duty around the clock. Ambulances will also be available. Although primary medical care will be provided, it is advisable that delegates should have an international travel insurance policy.

13 INFORMATION DESK An information Desk will be available during the period of April to handle general inquiries. TRAVEL DESK A Travel desk will be located in a designated area in the Annual Meeting s venue to assist with return flight reservations and related travel requests.

14 LOCAL TIME The local time of the Republic of Tunisia is GMT +1 PRACTICAL INFORMATION CURRENCY AND EXCHANGE RATE The official currency of Tunisia is the Tunisian Dinar. Foreign currencies can be exchanged in banks, exchange offices and in major hotels. Tunisian Dinars can only be re-exchanged into foreign currency, when the exchange receipt is presented up to a maximum of 3000 TND. ELECTRICITY Tunisia operates on a 220 supply voltage, it is highly recommended not to use electric equipment operating on 110 supply voltage. CLIMATE The climate in Tunis during April is mild and reasonably dry. Daytime maximum temperatures average around 21 C (69 F), whilst at night 10 C (50 F) is normal.

15 LANGUAGE While Arabic is the official language of the Republic of Tunisia, French and English are widely spoken. PRAYER TIMES A suitable prayer area is available in the Annual Meeting venue. Prayer times in Tunis during the Annual Meeting are published on the Annual Meeting website.
