4 HELPFUL TIPS & TRICKS The YMCA of the Rockies has an app! Scan the QR code to see an up-to-date activity schedule and other useful information! CHECK IN & OUT Our Front Desk is located in the Administration Building. Your accommodations will be ready by 6:00 PM If your room is not ready upon arrival, come participate in our programs and utilize our recreational facilities. Peruse the Activity Guide or stop by Sweet Memorial to find out what s going on. One-Year $250 Three-Year $600 EMERGENCY INFORMATION First Responders - call x222 In case of a medical or non-medical emergency that requires an ambulance and first responders, contact any YMCA staff member or call x222 on any land line on property. First responders on property and local emergency personnel will respond quickly. HEALTH AT HIGH ALTITUDE Altitude Sickness: YMCA of the Rockies is located at an elevation of 8,010 feet above sea level. Signs and symptoms of altitude sickness include headache, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, and sleep disturbances. Get plenty of rest, drink water, and eat a high carbohydrate diet throughout the days prior to arrival, upon arrival, and throughout your stay. Not staying with us? Day passes may be purchased by anyone who is not staying on grounds at the YMCA of the Rockies but would like to join in on the fun! Dorsey Museum Explore the rich history of the YMCA of the Rockies through a variety of displays and hands-on exhibits located in the historical 1924 addition to the original Wind River Lodge. Experience three historic cabins representing early life at the Y and view outdoor exhibits of vintage tools and equipment. 7 BOONE FAMILY MOUNTAIN CENTER HOURS OF OPERATION: SUN-THURS 8:30 AM 5:00 PM FRI & SAT 8:30 AM 8:30 PM ADVENTURE IS OUT THERE Located near Upper Cookout on the North end of our property, the brand new Mountain Center provides a base camp to launch outdoor and high-adventure activities: hiking, climbing walls, zip line, mountain biking, archery, and fly fishing! PLAY There s something for everyone! Rent mountain bikes and go for a ride, test your strength on our indoor or outdoor climbing wall, take aim in archery, reel in a big fish, or soar above the trees on our zip line. Which fun activity will you choose to try? PREPARE Plan out your next hike by speaking with one of our expert Hikemasters. You can pick up tips from the pros, get suggestions for where to go, and grab trail maps for the area. The Mountain Center houses a full retail store where you can purchase any gear you may need for your next adventure. DISCOVER The Mountain Center houses a hands-on education nature center designed to allow you to explore local flora and fauna and other natural wonders in the incredible Rocky Mountains. Be sure to check out the 3D topography map and all the other interactive displays. 7

8 HIKING HIKING INFORMATION DESK Bordering Rocky Mountain National Park on three sides, we are blessed by an amazing hiking program. In the Mountain Center you will find our hiking information desk (Base Camp) where you can ask our Hikemasters questions, look up hikes in our guide books, grab a map, or sign up for a guided hike. GUIDED HIKES HIKES GRADED A-H We offer a variety of treks graded A-H. Higher level hikes require hikers to complete prerequisite hikes. Check the Activity Guide for scheduled hikes, then register online: Easy & Easiest (Grades G & H) - Thoroughly enjoyable and informational, these hikes are perfect for grandchildren and grandparents. Moderate (Grade E & F) Moderate in difficulty, these hikes provide spectacular views, points of interest, and serene settings. Hard (Grades C & D) Perfect for conditioning, these hikes are physically demanding and sure to excite. Most Difficult (Grades A & B) These hikes face greater exposure, greater mileage, more difficult terrain, and higher altitudes. Even in summer, be prepared for inclement weather: lightning storms may arise, and rain, hail, and snow may make difficult terrain treacherous. 9 ADVENTURE ACTIVITIES SIGN UP REQUIRED: Challenge yourself to an adrenaline rush on our valley crossing Zip Line or test your strength on the Climbing Wall. Rent a Mountain Bike and explore the YMCA Grounds, or take your aim in Archery! OUTDOOR CLIMBING WALL Check the Activity Guide for availability. Experience the thrill and challenge of scaling our 25- foot outdoor climbing wall. All gear is provided; must wear sturdy, hiking or tennis shoes. This activity is geared towards climbers with beginner to intermediate abilities. Meet at the Mountain Center 15 minutes prior to session. Ages 5+, $10 per person MOUNTAIN BIKE RENTALS Come by the Mountain Center to rent your bikes and head out to the trails! ADULT & YOUTH SIZES AVAILABLE. Bike rental includes a helmet. Mountain Bike Rental Fees (Trek Marlin) Specialty Bike Rental Fees (Fat Tire) 8+ hours $25 Full Day $ hours $20 4 hours $40 Up to 4 hours $15 One hour $20 INDOOR CLIMBING WALL Check the Activity Guide for availability. Get your hands on our brand new indoor climbing wall that is molded to look and feel like real rock! Climb to the top of the 25-foot wall, or stay low to the ground on the bouldering wall. Climbing shoes and harnesses are provided and all participants will be given an introduction to the equipment and beginner climbing technique. This activity accommodates a wide range of abilities. Meet at Mountain Center. Ages 5+, $10 per person ZIP LINE Check the Activity Guide for availability. If climbing a 35 foot telephone pole, jumping off of a perfectly good deck with a great view and flying across a 370 foot valley sounds fun...come ride our brand new zip line! Minimum/maximum weight 50 lbs./270 lbs. Meet at the Mountain Center 15 minutes prior to session. Ages 10+, $20 per person OUTDOOR FAMILY ARCHERY Check the Activity Guide for availability. Come join YMCA instructors in a family friendly introduction to archery. Have fun while seeing who can get the most arrows on the target, or even a bull s eye. Ages 6+, $10 per person *Contact bike shop for overnight and multi-day rentals *no overnight rentals for Specialty Bikes ARCHERY One of our favorite camp activities! Archery sessions are available on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday at 9, 10, and 11 AM Ages 6+; $10 per person Sign up for an archery session online or at the Mountain Center. 9

10 SWEET MEMORIAL BUILDING HOURS OF OPERATION: SUN-THURS 8:30 AM 5:00 PM FRI & SAT 8:30 AM 8:30 PM FAMILY FUN JUST GOT SWEET ER Located west of the Administration Building parking lot, the Sweet Memorial Building is the hub of the Program Department. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns about programs, come by or give us a call at ext CAMPFIRES Campfires are allowed in designated fire rings located throughout the property. Please call ext to check fire ring availability. A fee of $25 includes use of the site and two bundles of wood. Firewood is for sale at Sweet Memorial, or at the Administration Building for $5.00 plus tax. We also have a few gas fire rings to use at no cost that are first come, first serve. Just dial 0 on any YMCA phone and ask security to get it started for you! GAME ROOM Anyone for Ping pong, billiards, table shuffleboard? See our newly renovated game room in the basement of the Sweet Memorial Building. We also have board games and puzzles to play here, or take back to your cabin! Do you disc? Would you like to give it a try? Our 18-hole course is great for beginners and avid disc golfers. Cruise around property, enjoy the scenery, and see who can keep their score the lowest! Disc golf discs can be checked out at the Sweet Memorial Building for a $10 cash or credit card deposit per disc. FAMILY PROGRAMS We strive to provide a unifying experience for families through fun-filled naturesque activities. Our Program Department offers a variety of classes for you and your family to participate in together. From movie nights to classes about fire building and wildlife in Rocky Mountain National Park, our family programs are guaranteed to create lifelong memories. 11 FAMILY PROGRAMS FUN TOGETHER These programs are for the entire family to enjoy and participate in together. ANIMAL DETECTIVE Clues are everywhere! Use your senses and field observation skills to figure out what animals live in the Rocky Mountains and discover their unique ways of living in the mountains. Meet at Sweet Memorial Building. M, W, F, SUN 9:30-11:00 AM BEAR TALK Learn about one of the Rocky Mountains most fascinating animals, the black bear. Meet at Sweet Memorial Building. T, TH, SAT 11:00-11:30 AM BIBLE POINT HIKE Join our staff as we take a beautiful 2 mile hike up Bible Point. We ll learn about some of our local trees as well as the history of Bible Point and Edwin Bradt. Meet at Sweet Memorial Building with sturdy shoes, appropriate clothing, and water. T, TH, SAT 1:00-3:00 PM BINGO B-I-N-G-O! Grab a card and get your game face on. Meet at Sweet Memorial Building. SAT 6:30 7:30 PM FIRE QUEST Fire can be a life-saving tool outdoors Come learn how to use various methods to spark safe fires. Meet at Sweet Memorial Building. T, TH, SAT 3:30-4:30 PM F 2:45-3:45 PM KNOTS Knot tying is an essential backcountry skill. Learn a half hitch, bowline, and more useful knots! Meet at Sweet Memorial Building. M, W, F, SUN 1:00-2:00 PM SAT 4:30-5:30 PM PATHFINDERS GPS doesn t always work in the mountains, but don t worry! We ll teach you the basics of using a map and compass to find your way. By the end you will be able to follow a bearing and orienteer all over the mountains! Meet at Sweet Memorial Building. F, SAT 12:45-2:15 PM S MORES A tasty treat that everyone likes to eat! We ve got the marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers. All you need to bring is your marshmallow roasting skills. Meet at Sweet Memorial Building. F 6:30-8:30 PM SURVIVAL Learn the importance of staying safe in the backcountry, the Ten Essentials you should take hiking, what to do if you find yourself lost, and an introduction to how to build a shelter. Be prepared to be outdoors for the duration of this class. Meet at Sweet Memorial Building. M, W, F, SAT, SUN 2:30-4:00 PM TREASURE TREK Put your thinking cap on and unravel clues that will lead you around property to find the treasure. Who knows where you ll go, or what you ll find! Meet at Sweet Memorial Building. T, TH, SAT 9:30-10:30 AM F 4:15-5:15 PM TRIVIA Test your random knowledge on a team with your family, or mix it up with other guests! Questions are designed with all ages in mind. Meet at Sweet Memorial Building. SAT 7:30-8:30 PM LITTLE LEARNERS ENGAGE CHILDREN EARLY For families with children ages 5 and under. These programs allow young children time to experience the outdoors with their family. LITTLE EXPLORERS Explorers use their eyes, ears, nose, mouth, and hands to observe and investigate the world around them. Take a walk with our facilitator and practice your exploring skills! Meet at Sweet Memorial Building. EVERYDAY 8:45-9:15 AM PARACHUTE GAMES Rise and fall with our big parachute as we play games on, under, and around the billowing parachute! 12 YOUNG ADULT + KEEP EXPLORING Designed with adults in mind! WALK ABOUT THE Y Quarter-mile stroll. Explore the architectural and social history of the YMCA of the Rockies main campus. Discover the who behind the names on buildings and enjoy sculptures on the main promenade. Meet at the Dorsey Museum. A.A. HYDE HISTORY WALK Explore the history of family camp and conferences at the YMCA of the Rockies through the work of A.A. Hyde, founder of the Mentholatum Company and supporter of the YMCA. Discover how leaders like Hyde created a foundation for the YMCA of the Rockies on the principles of healthy spirit, mind and body on this mile long walk. Meet at the Museum. SPIRIT & FAITH FOR ALL Through faith based programs and activities, the YMCA of the Rockies Chapel Ministry seeks to create a culture that is spiritually engaging, safe, and respectful of all. WORSHIP IN THE ROCKIES Guests and staff are invited to join us every Sunday morning for a great hour of worship. Dress is always mountain casual and weather appropriate. Come early and enjoy coffee, hot chocolate and tea, and breakfast pastries as we fellowship together before worship! Individuals, couples, families and groups are always welcome to Worship in the Rockies as we seek to make this your church home away from home. SUN 10:00 11:00 AM Worship in Hyde Chapel September 9 Worship in Ponder Chapel September 16- November 25 24/7 Prayer Chapel Need a quiet place to pray, reflect, or meditate? Dannen Chapel, entrance located on the outside northeast corner of Hyde Chapel, is open 24/7 for your prayer needs. When the chapel is being used for a special event, group, or wedding, a notice will be posted and it will not be available to the public. Interactive Prayer Trail Located behind the Legett Christian Center. Walk the trail and encounter 5 interactive stations that will engage you in active prayer. The stations are based on the prayer forms of Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication, and Intercession. All ages will find this a fun and meaningful way to pray! Labyrinth A Labyrinth is a spiritual tool, a path of prayer, a walking meditation. Our Labyrinth is designed out of stones and located behind the Museum. Brochures about the Labyrinth and how to walk the Labyrinth are located at the starting point. Take some time to walk the Labyrinth and enjoy a time of peace and prayer! Lawn Games Located on the west side of Hyde Chapel is a storage shed full of lawn games for your enjoyment! Feel free to play these games on the Hyde Chapel lawn anytime you wish! Games include Bocce Ball, Ladder Golf, Corn Hole, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, Croquet, Giant Jenga, Sidewalk Scrabble, giant dice for Yard Yahtzee and Farkle, and the ever-impressive JUMBO Connect 4! 12 Questions? CHECK THE ACTIVITY GUIDE FOR UPDATED HOURS. LONGHOUSE GYM Everyday 7:00 AM - 9:00 PM Enjoy a full sized gym with volleyball, basketball, and shuffleboard. The gym boasts two full sized courts. Balls available for use. BOB ECKER ROLLERSKATING RINK F, SAT, SUN, M 2:30-9:00 PM T, W, TH 1:30 9:00 PM Located in the Longhouse Gym., skates are provided and rollerblades are welcome. Check Activity Guide for closures throughout the week. ADMINISTRATION FIELD Everyday The Administration Field is located outside of the main Administration Building. There are basketball courts, sand volleyball courts, gaga ball pits, horseshoe pits, a baseball field, and open field space. Equipment can be checked out from the Sweet Memorial Building. MINI GOLF & TENNIS COURTS Everyday Located on the Administration Field, we boast two mini golf courses. Try our 18-hole course or an easier 9-hole course with larger holes for younger children. Fun and challenging for the entire family. Check out tennis and mini golf equipment from the Sweet Memorial Building. HENRY DORSEY JR, MEMORIAL SWIMMING POOL Everyday Grab your suit and come visit our swimming pool for some fun in the water. Heated to 83 degrees and at a length of 25 yards you are sure to find room for relaxation and fun. LOOKING FOR A SPACE TO LET THEM PLAY? Check out the basement lobby of the Sweet Memorial Building each morning at 8:30. Parents can relax with their morning coffee while the tots play! CLASSES FACILITY HOURS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE. SAT, M 3:30-4:30 PM BOOT CAMP High intensity interval training workouts that include strength training and cardio. Workouts can be modified to fit all fitness levels. M, W 5:15-6:15 PM HYDR02GA Hydr02ga is a holistic therapeutic no-impact deep water exercise that is challenging, strengthening, toning, aerobic, relaxing, and balancing for the emotional, physical, and mental body. Meet at Dorsey Swimming Pool. SAT 8:15-9:15 AM WATER EXERCISE Enjoy a low impact water exercise class in our heated indoor pool. 14 SPECIAL PROGRAMS FAMILY YOGA WEEKEND September 14th-16th, 2018 A family oriented weekend with a variety of yoga classes for different skills and focuses. Yoga and healthy living are about more than the physical. We will have sessions regarding nutrition and mental and emotional practices to bring new skills for healthy living to yourself, your family, and your community. FALL FEST September 22nd, 29th, October 6th, 2018 Enjoy pumpkin painting, s mores around the campfire, a good ol fashioned square dance, and more! Festivities will occur at Dorsey Museum and the Mootz Family Craft and Design Center, behind the pool. Check the website for more details in August! HALLOWEEN SPOOKTACULAR October 27th, 2018 Dress in your costume, participate in spooky activities, and do some trick or treating to get in the spirit of Halloween with the YMCA of the Rockies! Head over to our skating rink for a Monster Mash in your costume, Trick or Treat around our property, enjoy the Haunted House or a family film. Check the Activity Guide for further information. THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 22nd 8:00 AM Register online at: AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM Live nearby? Sign your child up for our afterschool program! Students take the bus from school and get dropped off at the YMCA of the Rockies for an afternoon of fun. Activities include swimming, hiking, library, science experiments, and more!
