Some trips etc may not have been advertised in TLCC News because the information was not available at the time of the latest publication or because they have been registered after it was issued. See the TLCC Website for all the very latest updates. February 2017 TRIPS & EVENTS REGISTRATION To advertise your trip or event, it is necessary to register it with the 4WD Activities Coordinator at General Meetings or by phone, but preferably register by to 4wdtrips@tlcc.com.au Trips should be listed early to ensure inclusion in the Magazine, on the Website, Forum and in the Coming Events Sheets. Please note: all dates, locations, destinations and events are subject to change, and are dependent upon available resources, weather and fire conditions, etc. Please always check with the listed contact for each trip or event before just attending. PLEASE NOTE If there are no course dates listed it does not mean that the course is not running, just that the next date has not been determined yet. Keep an eye on the Coming Events Sheets, or on the TLCC website and TLCC Forum for any course updates. The clubs website is used for booking on all courses. Click on the Training tab at the top of the page and then click on the Enrol into a Course tab on the left side of the page, or ask the Education Coordinator to do so for you and you will be contacted as new course dates become available. Upcoming Events DON T FORGET! Can t make it & have to cancel? Sometimes no matter how much you want to go, something comes up and you have to cancel. No problem! But it s important to let us know. So, if you can t make it for whatever reason, do the right thing and let the Course Presenter or Trip Leader know as soon as you can. Call them on their contact number, or send an with your name, the course or trip you were booked on and the dates. It will allow someone else to go and will be greatly appreciated by all. TOWING November 2017 (date to be advised) You can also me at education@tlcc.com.au with any enquires regarding the courses available or if you are interested in running any new courses which might be useful to the membership DRIVER TRAINING Recreational 4WD Driver Training for 2017 Module 1 Tuesday Feb Tuesday Mar Tuesday May Arena Sports Club, Yagoona Modules 2 & 3 Saturday & Sunday Feb Saturday & Sunday Mar Saturday & Sunday May ADVANCED RECOVERY & 4WD DRIVER TRAINING April 2017 (date to be advised) This course is mandatory for people wanting to become Driver Trainers and/or join the TLCC Recovery Team. You will learn and practice a number of the more advanced vehicle recovery techniques such as safely rolling a vehicle from its roof back onto its wheels without damaging it (too much). Lots of 2 and 3 vehicle winching is also done. The driving portion involves some of the harder tracks at and recovery and/or winching during this should be anticipated. The water crossing in this course is mandatory. Bring your own WD40! The course covers the theoretical and practical aspects of towing everything from box trailers to caravans. A must for anyone intending to tow anything on or off road. Own trailer or caravan not required as there are a number at that may be used. Of course if you do have your own trailer/caravan you are welcome to bring it along to practice with. WHEEL BEARING REPACK Windsor area AUTO ELECTRICAL WORKSHOP. CHAINSAW Theory Practical Mount Druitt (participants will be advised address) September 2017 (date to be advised) Arena Sports Club, Yagoona Extremely popular course. You will need to bring your own chainsaw for the practical component of the course. Lots of great hands on information provided by people who earn their living using chainsaws. A very strong emphasis is placed on how to safely operate a chainsaw

Easter at Koolandilly: April 14 to 17 Don t forget to book so that the Easter Bunny can bring lots of Eggs for the little kids and big ones too. Games on Easter Sunday as well as a good old Easter Egg Hunt. Work: Regular weeding, mowing, spraying and general maintenance. WILLOWGLEN Working bee in planning stage for March, around the weekend 18 th & 19 th March. Will comprise of mid week and weekend works, mid week may 3 days prior to or 3 days immediately following this weekend. Work: Weekend part, normal quarterly work routines, mowing, weeding, clearing fallen trees, cleaning gutters, service equipment, etc. Additional works (weekend days), machine work laying top soil & planting grass seed, cleaning and repairing silt barriers, repairing camping ground tracks. No Adverse weather may require a change of plans, but there are plenty of tracks to explore in Far East Gippsland..You could extend your trip with an easy tour along the beautiful coast of Croajingolong NP. Good A/T or M/T tyres or equivalent This is an easy trip, designed for new members on their first trip and is open to all members who want a scenic drive in the bush with camping at Koolandilly. We pass through Jenolan Caves and head down to Kanangra Walls, then on to Koolandilly via Dingo Dell. With several stops for sightseeing and lunch, this is a relaxing trip. Kids are welcome. Intending at arrive Koolandilly around 4pm. Sturdy camper trailers are also welcome if there has been no significant rain. If unsure please check with the trip leader. Don t go if wet. 10 vehicles. Track clearing gear chainsaw, chainsaw PPE, heavy duty brush-cutters, whatever you can bring & recovery gear. Not all track clearing gear is mandatory. Accommodation: Land owners caravan park (flat, hot showers) or nearby National Park (long drop toilets). Maps: Gloucester N 2nd edition, but not essential. Available in Stroud Road and Gloucester. Clear tracks on private land that are old logging trails. Some are fairly open and others have some vegetation or fallen trees. In clearing these tracks the following will be achieved. 1) The land owner will have better access to the land. 2) The annual Barrington SAREX will have better access to the areas to be searched. 3) The Club will have won a friend! (the land owner). This land owner has been working with us for the last 3 years, providing access over their property in support of the Barrington SAREX. We will be taking over the task from another club. So, if we do a great job, we get invited back to camp on the place. The Barrington SAREX is an annual event in which we team up with NSW Police, WICEN, BWRS, SES & RFS to support the search for the light aircraft VH- MDX which disappeared in the Barrington area in 1981 with 5 men on board and has never been found. Must be able to travel 1000Km between Fuel Stops in remote areas and in sand, Meeting Place Alice Springs
6 Alice Springs to Bungle Bungles via the Tanami, stopping at Wolfe Creek and Hall Creek on the way, Kununurra, Wyndham, El Questro, Mitchell Falls, Kalumburu and beyond, back to Drysdale Station, Mount Elizabeth Homestead, Manning, Bell,Windjana Gorges, and others in between, Tunnel Creek NP, Derby, Horizontal Water Falls. Broome, Cape Leveque. Some bush camping will be involved as well as dirt tracks. Last minute cancellation could happen if the tracks are closed due to rain.
