2 Our vision Developing Nottingham A three-stage plan 1 intu s vision for Nottingham is to revitalise the city centre, anchoring it with two complementary shopping and leisure destinations. Our investment, alongside other improvements to the city centre, will reaffirm Nottingham s position as a top 10 UK city with something for everyone. Refresh Work has completed at intu Victoria Centre to upgrade the existing centre creating an environment to showcase the best in high street retail and establish an exciting new dining area around the clock tower. 2 Redevelop Planning permission received to redevelop into a leisure and retail destination with something for all the family. 3 Extend The final element will be the building of the extension at intu Victoria Centre for which planning consent has now been received. 8 Development timeline Nottingham snapshot Planning consent Fashion Education Heritage As the home of Paul Smith, Nottingham has a deep history in fashion and textiles. The University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University are two world-leading educational institutions home to over 60,000 students. Nottingham s rich heritage attracts tourists from all over the world: the City of Caves, Nottingham Castle, the Galleries of Justice and the legend of Robin Hood are key tourist attractions. Culture Independents Events Nottingham is home to a variety of creative arts and exhibitions. Performances are hosted at the Theatre Royals, Concert Hall and Nottingham Arena.
