2 Welcome to the 2015 CoStar Agency Awards CoStar Group is pleased to announce the winners of the 2015 Agency Awards! Welcome to the 2015 CoStar agency awards. We are proud to recognise the successes of the commercial property agency community, and in particular those firms and individuals that have been at the forefront of driving volume during the year. Over 8,300 agents have been battling for their place at the top of the league tables. Once again we have used CoStar data to identify the agents that have won each of the categories, while the popular editor s choice awards have generated widespread interest and participation from the readership of CoStar News, which continues to be the UK s most widely read commercial property news service. After the significant volume increase of 2014, it is perhaps not surprising that we have seen volumes flatten off a bit in Occupancy is running at very high levels across the country, and with relatively few deliveries of new stock in many areas, transaction options are tightening. It will be interesting to see what the effect of slowing absorption will have on activity in the coming year. 4 Birmingham Office involve relocating some 1,000 jobs currently based in London to Birmingham from mid-2017 onwards. Paul Norman Editor, CoStar News A combination of historically low supply and strong demand has made Birmingham a particularly attractive stomping ground for investor/developers, with a number of major schemes changing hands and being worked up. Elsewhere, HS2 and BDO completed deals in December 2014 for 97,960 SF and 24,225 SF respectively at M&G s Two Snowhill scheme. In another significant deal, Jacobs Engineering took 19,285 SF of offices at Nurton s 2 Colmore Square, to become the first engineering group to relocate to be close to HS2. There has also been a spate of exciting requirements launched, including requirements for Deutsche Bank, Jaguar Land Rover and Network Rail. The occupier story has continued to back this confidence with a string of major deals notably large-scale inward investment moves completing in the period. The largest deal was HSBC s announcement that it will take 212,000 SF at the Arena Central scheme as a new UK HQ for its ring-fenced retail banking division.
