2 BP BP/1 BP/1/1 Burgh of Prestwick Town Clerk's Department Legal Documents BP/1/1/1 24 August 1446 Notarial instrument regarding royal letters to Sir John Walas of Cragyne Knight, Bailie of Kyle, on the complaint of the Burgesses and community of Prestwick against the lieges bordering with them and others for wrongful occupation of the Burgh's common and property and usurping its privileges and freedom BP/1/1/2 24 August 1446 Notarial instrument regarding John Walas Knight, Laird of Cragyne, by command of royal letters, chose an inquest of men of his Bailiary of Kyle Steuart to perambulate the marches and metes of the Burgh of Prestwick and adjoining lands and to assign right metes and bounds between the liberties of the Burgh and other lands belonging to Burghs and lairds BP/1/1/3 5 December 1489 Obligation by John Wallas of Cragy, narrating that although the Bailies and community of Prestwic have infeft him in the coals in certain bounds of their common, from the Gallous and the Galloushill of Prestwic down to the sea and up from the Galloushill to the moss on the one part and the march of Hugh Walles' lands of the Newtoun on the other, as is contained in their charter to him, if he, his heirs and assignees do not 'optene coilis nor coilhuchis nor wyne name' there within three years, then on due warning by the Bailies and community they will resign their right to the coals within the said bounds into the hands of one of the Bailies, together with all charters, instruments of sasine and other evidents and, if they fail to make such resignation in the parish kirk of Prestwic, the donation and evidents shall nevertheless be null and void.
