Frank Stillson and Tom Jetson Building Tip by Rich Frost Using CA in the Winter. As the holidays are over, now is the time to start a new project, either kit, scratch build, or ARF. Many of us have had problems when using CA in the Winter as parts don t seem to adhere to each other. Using "Kicker" to set off the CA is messy as you end up spraying more than you need and most of them have an awful odor. The problem is the low humidity in your home due to heating. Some times the humidity is as low as 20% or more. Even with a furnace humidifier levels of moisture are low. Wood pieces have dried out, thus causing gluing to be difficult. Here is an easy fix for this problem. Keep a small damp sponge on hand and wipe the wood pieces prior to gluing. CA needs moisture to "kick off". That's why your fingers can easily be glued together if you are not careful. Moisture. Give it a try. It works for me. St Thomas of Villanova Food Closet Please remember that each month the Blue Max RC Flying Club will be bringing non-perishable food items to assist in providing food to some of the local families. There will be boxes in the meeting room for collection. The following items have been suggested as the type of food items they would like to receive: Breakfast Cereal, Canned Meat (small ham, beef, etc), Canned Vegetables, Canned Spaghetti (spaghetti-o s, etc), Peanut Butter, Jelly/Preserves, Saltines, Macaroni and Cheese, Rice, Dry Pasta, Dry Beans, Canned Sauce, and any other canned, boxed, non-perishable foods.
