The joint venture between the global airport operator Fraport AG Frankfurt Airport Services Worldwide and Airport Services Bulgaria has been operating, managing and developing the two Black Sea 24-hour gateways: Varna serving the northeast and Burgas serving the southeast of Bulgaria since November, At the center of the company s focus is the enhancement of the service quality and the overall passenger experience, upgrading of airport equipment and introducing new technologies, as well as modernizing and expanding existing systems and infrastructure. Key investment projects that have been successfully completed are the new modern, spacious and award-winning passenger terminals at both airports, the renewed taxiways and airfield and approach lighting systems at both locations and the renovated runway at Varna airport. During the first 10 years of its concession, the operator of the Black sea airports has made significant investments worth approximately 180 million and has planned to invest an additional 130 million in both airports by Fraport Bulgaria
