That s what Greenville s planned multimillion-dollar sprawling signature park just to the west of downtown is currently called. But that s not necessarily what its name will be in the future. Some residents who live in the vicinity of the future park say the name should pay homage to the area s past, especially Mayberry Park, a park created in the 1920s for blacks in a marshy meadowland on the edge of the Reedy River that was prone to flooding. But while its history as a railroad is long, its use as a biking path is recent. This time the restaurant will be moving into the 19,000-sqaure-foot former White Horse Paper Co. at 405 Westfield St., right on the Greenville Health System Swamp Rabbit Trail and a block from the future City Park.The restaurant and brewery plans to open in the fall. After losing its North Main Street lease in 2015 after 20 years in Greenville, Blue Ridge owner Bob Hiller says they are chomping at the bit to reopen downtown. The new building, which will require almost as much demolition as new construction..." "RealOp Investments, a Greenville-based commercial real estate investment group, has purchased four vacant buildings on Markley Street and plans to renovate and preserve the former warehouse property in the city s historic West End. RealOp officials said the urban revitalization project, called Markley Station, continues the neighborhood s ongoing development and momentum.
