It is designed to provide participants a more in-depth experience with nature. The 3D2N programme includes a visit to sea turtle and river terrapin centres, a river cruise and mangrove planting activity, fireflies watching tour, and a beach cleanup and trash analysis activity. Participants may find some time to chill on the beach too. 1. 3 4Days 3Nights Perhentian Islands - Corals, Environmental Education & Turtles! Join us in the Perhentian Islands on the north east coast of Peninsular Malaysia. You will join researchers and conservationists helping to protect these islands and local coral expert Dr James Tan from University Malaysia Terengganu. You will help with collecting data for sea turtle facial ID studies, help expand one of the glass bottle concrete block coral restoration sites and help turn plastic found on the islands into a plastic turtle necklace. You will conduct 2 scuba dives and 1 snorkel tour. You will stay in a villager owned basic chalet in triple rooms with air con and ensuite. All dive gear will be provided and if you need a refresher please let us know.! Join us in the paradise Perhentian Islands and leave your coral legacy behind and take a piece of the islands with you. 5 2Days 1Night in Tasik Kenyir, Terengganu Date: July 2019 Lake Kenyir is the biggest lake of Malaysia and this popular attraction is located within the state of Terengganu. It's a place for nature lovers who don't mind the discomfort/dangers that usually comes with such places. Within the area, you can find around 340 small mainly uninhabited islands; many waterfalls and caves. There is also an abundance of wildlife to be found in the Kenyir area. Experience a unique sight from varieties of birds when you walking along the trails with the guide from experience local birdwatchers. Indulge the experience of Kenyir jungle trails leads by local botanists and be mesmerized from the experience of Mahseer swimming under your feet. 6 4Days 3Nights Rainforests & Indigenous People Fieldtrip The Sungai Yu Wildlife Corridor is the most important in Malaysia being the last passage between Taman Negara and the Titiwangsa Range, the largest forest landscapes in Malaysia. You will spend a day with the semi nomadic indigenous women who call the Sungai Yu forest their home. You will forage with them looking for whatever they need, maybe leaves for weaving or fish or rats for eating. You will be joined by local experts from University Malaysia Kelantan who are studying the indigenous uses and knowledge of the forest plants. The full day you will join the Batek men in search for gibbons and Siamang as well as primatologists from University of Science, Malaysia, as well as conduct a patrol using the SMART method. You will spend one evening doing a night trek looking for nocturnal animals and another night eating dinner with a local Malay family experiencing true Malay hospitality. This trip will allow you to discover the true Peninsular Malaysian forests and meet people who call the forest their home. 1.
