Conducted and analyzed local traditional knowledge career-history interviews to construct the artisanal fishing activity in two coastal communities taking into account their historical, fishery, and social aspects. Mapped the historical use of fishing grounds of artisanal fishers from two coastal communities using nautical charts. Geo-positioned fishing areas, digitized hand-drawn charts, and constructed composite charts using ArcMap 9.3 Presented preliminary results (orally and with PowerPoint) to fisheries stakeholders. Project II. Supporting the Establishment and Implementation of a Scientific Observers Program in the Colombian Pacific Ocean (March - December 2011). Proposed a structure for the Scientific Observers Program. Analyzed methodologies, procedures, and results of programs already established. Collaborated with national and international researchers. Project III. Artisanal Fishery from North Pacific Coast of Colombia: Contributing to its management. Phase I (October-December 2008) and Phase II (July-December 2009). Recorded and analyzed quantitative and qualitative fisheries and socio-economic data on the artisanal fishing activity on the North Pacific Coast of Colombia. Monitored and recorded information on fish landings, identified fish species. Geo-positioned fishing areas. Presented preliminary results (orally and with PowerPoint) to fisheries stakeholders. Project IV. Biological, fishery, social and economic characterization of freshwater ray fishery in Puerto Carreño, Orinoco Basin, Colombia. June Recorded and analyzed economic data (descriptive statistics). Interviewed freshwater stingray exporters. Project V. Fishery and Productive Chain of Sharks (sharks, rays and skates) on the Pacific Coast of Colombia, analysis and perspectives (June 2007-April 2008). Developed Fast Participatory Diagnosis to explore shark fishery trends over time, identify problems, and prioritize possible solutions. Monitored and recorded information on fish landings, identified fish species. Trained fishers in filling out logbooks. Conducted and analyzed structured interviews with key players in the productive chain: fishermen, meat smokers, fish merchants, fishing gear suppliers, and consumers.
