Visitor Center displays feature Ohlone and other Central California Indian cultures along with exhibits about the surrounding marshlands and wildlife. A network of trails includes a 3.89-mile loop with bay views, featured in the 2015 Trails Challenge Guide. Enjoy stunning landscapes, expansive views, and the occasional remnants of early ranching and dry farming. To protect wildlife, including the endangered San Joaquin kit fox, dogs are not allowed in the preserve. It features Jewel Lake (shown above), Lake Anza, a botanic garden, a carousel, the Environmental Education Center, a miniature steam train, a golf course, and miles of trails. A moderate 6.2-mile Trails Challenge route at Redwood leads from the forested canyon to ridgetop vistas and back. You ll discover new and unique destinations in our guidebook outlining twenty different trails eight of which are featured in this calendar. Enjoy adventures in the great outdoors; it s good for the body and the mind. Watch a sunset while kayaking on the Delta. Go on a bike ride. Take a walk with a naturalist or a friend.
