4 1 Mazu procession Mazu (Heavenly Queen) is the sea goddess guarding the sea and is worshipped in coastal areas of Southeast Asia. The Mazu procession can rarely be seen in Japan except in Oma. The statue of Mazu is usually enshrined in the Inari Shrine located in Oma. The northernmost area of Honshu has many mystical spots. Shimokita Magnificent landscapes created by nature are sure to impress visitors. Area 5 Cliffs of Hotokegaura Raging waves, strong winds and intense snowfalls carved the cliffs of Hotokegaura. This mystical landscape made up of volcanic pale green tuff rocks extends for 2 km along the coastline.
