Remarks: 1. When Happo-en Garden is closed, Meiji Jingu Shrine will be visited instead. 2. From Aug. 11 to Aug 22, due to tour arrangements, the tea ceremony will be held at a tea room at the International Forum instead of at Happoen Garden. Please be aware that tours during this period will not walk through Happoen Garden. Lunch (90 min) Enjoy barbeque at the Chinzanso Restaurant. Imperial Palace Plaza, Niju-bashi Bridge (30 min) Cross the symbolic double arched bridge which originally led to the Edo castle before fires destroyed much of its wooden structures, and the Emperor of Japan claimed the site as his official residence in Sumida River Cruise (40 min) Pass beneath a total of 12 bridges on the journey down the historically significant Sumida River, starting at Asakusa and ending at Hinode Pier on Tokyo Bay. Remarks: During the cherry blossom season (around Mar. 21-Apr. 13), due to congestion, the Sumida River Cruise ride will be switched to cherry-blossom viewing at Sumida Park. In addition, Sumida River Cruise may be unavailable without prior notice due to river conditions. Changes in itinerary will be provided by the guide. Asakusa Kannon & Shopping at Nakamise (40 min) Walk along a colorful promenade clamoring with traditional food stands and souvenir shops, leading up to Tokyoʼs oldest and most significant Buddhist temple with a history of over 1,300 years. Ginza (drive-by) Drive through Tokyoʼs most uptown, classy, and luxurious shopping district, filled with towering department stores and a vast variety of brand name shops. 17:10 Tokyo Station Arrive at Tokyo Station. Then board a bus to Nikko Edomura (Edo Wonderland) where you can enjoy a ninja show, Oiran show and other attractions (Oiran were Edo Period courtesans). This amusement park has an atmosphere of historical Japan. 1. This is a partially guided tour. A guide will accompany the tour until sightseeing at Nikko Toshogu Shrine ends. 2. Remarks: The shuttle bus to Nikko Edo Wonderland leaves at 13:20 or 14:40. You will have 100 minutes or 180 minutes to explore this area. This 1-day guided tour from Tokyo takes you to some of Nikkoʼs most popular sightseeing spots like World Heritage-registered Tosho-gu Shrine and beautiful Kirifuri Falls. 2. The tour also visits Nikko Tamozawa Imperial Villa, a national important cultural property, which boasts its beautiful structure. 3. Please note that this plan includes lunch. IMPORTANT NOTICE: This tour visits scenic places that are very popular with Japanese tourists during fall (late Oct. early Nov.) and spring (late Apr. early May). Former Emperors and royal family have used this villa as their residence, which is now the only remaining Imperial residence of the Meiji era. Remarks: When Nikko Tamozawa Imperial Villa is closed (Tuesdays and specific days), the tour will visit the Treasure House and the Shoyo-en Garden of Rinno-ji Temple instead. When the Treasure House and Shoyo-en Garden are also closed, the tour will visit the Treasure House of Nikko Tosho-gu Shrine instead. Located in the Shinjuku area, Kabukicho is Japanʼs largest entertainment district and is home to many restaurants, amusement facilities and movie theaters. The guide will lead you to little known hole-in-the-wall spots such as the Golden Gai which houses many small bars. 1. Visit Japanʼs largest entertainment district and experience Shinjuku in the evening. 2. Enjoy a delicious local Kabukicho delicacy along the way. 3.
