12 HISTORY The Drisco Hotel established in 1866 by the Drisco Brothers, who came from Maine USA to establish a luxury hotel in Israel, was the first hotel outside the walls of old Jaffa, (now Tel-Aviv). Originally named The Jerusalem Hotel, it operated from , and became known as one of the most prestigious hotels in the region. Notable guests like Thomas Cook and Mark Twain visited the hotel.

13 HISTORY In 2006, the building began a lengthy reconstruction project, focusing on the restoration and preservation of its original architecture, the storytelling wall murals, and its historic style. The Drisco hotel is comprised of two perfectly renovated buildings: the historic Hardegg Jerusalem Hotel and the adjacent Norton House (now Villa Drisco).
