The routes are mixture of town and back roads which are surrounded by breathtaking views. Bali is famous for its cultural life, which we will experience plenty of during our cycling adventure. Relax at the pool until a briefing with your guide. You can then start assembling your bike and get into the cycling mindset. Firstly visit The Kertagosa Pavilion as it s one of the bestpreserved parts of the palace and an excellent example of traditional Balinese architecture. The pavilion once functioned as the Hall of Justice and among the artefacts on display can be found the Kamasan Paintings depicting famous Hindu legends throughout the ages. Ride through the town road following the Candidasa coast line until you reach tonights hotel. Arrive at Tirta Gangga, the ancient water palace for a visit and refreshment. Continue the ride through the village s road (very good tarmac) and coastal road of Tulamben until Kubu beach area. From here, a short transfer to your hotel. The cycling goal todal will be the coast line of Lovina area. On route you will have chance to admire the Ponjok Batu temple, it s a unique temple complex, built using black stone, facing the ocean. Continue the ride until we reach our hotel at Lovina. Page 3

Today s ride is a mixture of coastal roads, with good tarmac through West Bali National Park. During the ride you will have chance to spot some grey macaque along the route. Turn left and continue the ride through national road until Melaya village. Afterwards, we will be transferred to our next hotel Dinner at hotel Overnight in Pekutatan Cycling distance: up to 80km Difficulty: Medium Transfer from Melaya finish point to Pekutatat (60 km): 1 hour 30 minutes Shuttle available anytime with a support private A/C vehicle 7/6 Day 6: Pekutatan Negara Tanah Lot (B/L/D) Breakfast at hotel Start the ride: 08.00AM Today you will traverse the national road to the most enchanting temple of Tanah Lot. First 25 kilometers is a busy road in the westernmost part of Bali. The second leg will be a ride through Tabanan area, past the rural village on good roads until Kerambitan Village. Page 4

5 Cycle until we enter the town for a visit to Taman Ayun Temple. Translating as beautiful garden Taman Ayun is considered by many to be one of the island s most attractive temples and is still used today by people from all over Bali for special ceremonies and events. Striking southward until we arrive at Tanah Lot Temple. With its spectacular location, Tanah Lot is an integral part of Balinese mythology and one of seven sea temples that are said to form a chain around the island. The temple is only accessible at low tide but despite its off-shore location in the Indian Ocean, it features a fresh water spring at its base which is said to contain holy water. As a result, the temple is extremely sacred and Balinese visit from all over the island to drink the water and splash it over their bodies in order to cleanse themselves of any bad spirits. The temple s inner sanctum is located on top of the rocky outcrop and only accessible to Balinese Hindus. Please note that we recognise that the temple may present some access issues which we will endeavour work through with your assistance. Afterwards, check in hotel just a few minutes ride from the temple. It s a non-profit organization who focus on disable talent in any sport activities. Meet up with the great team or even join their exercise during your day. Ubud is located in the centre of the island of Bali and has a generous mix of temples, activities, fine arts, music and dance. It is home to good cafes and restaurants and it is a popular place for tourists to immerse themselves in Balinese culture. 10/6 Day 9: Ubud -Kintamani Penglipuran Subak Guliang - Sanur (B/L/D) Early breakfast at hotel and check out Pick up time: 07.30AM Start the ride: 08.30AM It s the downhill day today! Following breakfast get transferred to the starting point of todays ride in the Kintamani area. Weather permitting you will observe that Kintamani sits on the caldera rim of a huge volcano and Mount Batur, directly in front of you, is merely a small mountain that has been created by thousands of years of volcanic activity. Today s ride will be another highlight of your trip, riding from Mt Batur volcano before hitting the south part of the Island. Take a track downhill to Penglipuran Village. It is a well ordered village surrounded by plantations and bamboo forests. At Bali Aga village, the local community still adhere to the strict rules and regulations (known as the Adat) that were laid down by their ancestors many centuries ago. We continue through the backroad of Subak Guliang Village until we finish at Taman Nusa. The park is recently built where you can see a mini Borobudur, a cave in which Indonesia history is portrayed Page 6

7 and then a tour through the park will show all the different styles of living quarters around Indonesia. Enjoy lunch at the restaurant followed by transfer to your hotel in Sanur area. With the many locals going about their daily activities and the abundance of restaurants and accommodation, it is surprising how un-crowded and peaceful Sanur is. There are many activities to try as well as beach resorts and restaurants spread along a long coastline. A barbeque dinner will be held at beachfront restaurant with a cocktail. Overnight in Sanur 12/6 Day 11: Sanur Departure (B/-/-) Breakfast at your hotel. Depending on your flight schedule, the day is at leisure until our guide and driver meet you at the hotel for your transfer to the airport and onward flight. 10 Road conditions in Indonesia are not always very good and this can cause slow driving times. As a general rule we calculate 30 km = 1 hour driving. This can be even less when traveling in very remote areas and jungles with 4WD jeeps. Also some islands are very populated which during public holidays and long weekends can cause traffic problems that can influence your journey time considerably. We do not encourage activities that do actively involve wildlife, such as dolphin tours, etc. For activities where guests come in touch with wildlife, very high standards apply and are carefully monitored in our side. Note that upon wildlife observations, including bird watching, and also Orang Utan trekking trips in North Sumatra or Kalimantan there is never a guarantee to see certain bird or primates. In the months between July and September the probability to see Orang Utans in the wild or at feeding stations, may be slightly lower than during other months of the year. Any travel itinerary is generally dependent on weather conditions, and its feasibility may be constrained due to exceptional environmental or social events or circumstances Visa & Passport: Visitors with certain nationalities are eligible for a 30-day Visa-On-Arrival (VOA) or a Visitor-Pass at certain international entry points in Indonesia. Certain nationalities are eligible for a non-extendable 30-day visa-free stay, if entering and exiting at certain checkpoints, among them Jakarta, Medan, Denpasar, Surabaya (and Batam). This is only possible if both entry and exit are at these ports, why caution is required by visitors on which option to choose! Those nationalities which are not eligible for a VOA need to apply in advance for a visa with the embassy or consulate of the Republic of Indonesia nearest to their place of residence in their country. If the pax do not have collapsible wheelchairs then these must be checked-in. CANCELLATION AND AMENDMENTS Fees are charged for both amendments and cancellation of flights and services, by Jetaway and our third parties. If you do have to cancel your reservation you will be advised of these amounts. Travel Insurance usually will cover cancellation costs please speak to your insurance provider.
