Our Mission has something for everyone, including fabulous restaurants, outstanding tour guiding, fascinating home hospitality, and plenty of laughter, singing and dancing. Through day trips to CHW s projects, you will see first-hand how your support for Children, Healthcare, and Women matters. What a rare opportunity it is to meet with those whose lives have been touched by your generosity. You will come away with a newfound understanding of what CHW has accomplished in nearly 100 years. 1

2 Day 1: Monday, April 20 Welcome to Israel! Airport Pick-Up at Ben Gurion Airport Check-in to the Carlton Boutique Hotel, Tel Aviv, rest and freshen up Depart from hotel and walk to restaurant Welcome Dinner at Mel and Michelle Restaurant * Mel and Michelle, an intimate restaurant featuring Chef Nir Wayman. Chef Wayman creates classic Italian cuisine, infusing each dish with exceptional artisanal accents. The combination of delicious fare paired with Israeli wines and the charming ambiance will make this a perfect first night in Tel Aviv. Overnight: 5-star accommodation at the Carlton Boutique Hotel, Tel Aviv Day 2: Tuesday, April 21 Visit an Israeli Air Force Base, CHW Daycare, Assaf Harofeh Medical Centre and experience the warmth of Home Hospitality Breakfast at the Carlton Boutique Hotel, Tel Aviv 8epart from hotel and drive to air force base Hatzerim Air Force Base * Travel to the Negev Desert to visit the Hatzerim Air Force Base. Stand airside on the tarmac, while watching F-16 fighter jets take to the open skies. Experience the unforgettable opportunity of sitting in a F-16 while speaking with airmen about their personal stories in combat. Depart from air force base and drive to daycare Clara Balinsky Daycare Centre * Enjoy a visit to one of our six daycares and be sure to give our CHW children a huge hug. Assaf Harofeh Medical Center * See the new state-of-the-art CHW Marla Dan Stroke and Invasive Neuroradiology Institute. Enjoy lunch with Dr. Benny Davidson, Director General of Assaf Harofeh Medical Center. Depart from hotel and drive to Crystal Residence Home Hospitality * Experience the warmth of home hospitality as Canadian ex-pats Betty and Jack Crystal welcome Mission participants to their Tel Aviv home for dinner. Yom Ha Zikaron Ceremony in Rabin Square * Commemorate the beginning of Yom Ha Zikaron at one of the largest Remembrance Day ceremonies in Israel. As the siren sounds, stand shoulder to shoulder with your Israeli brothers and sisters, honouring the lives lost in combat. Overnight: 5-star accommodation at the Carlton Boutique Hotel, Tel Aviv 2

3 Day 3: Wednesday, April 22 Experience Yom Ha Zikaron at Nahalal Youth Village and celebrate Israel s Independence at Mini-Israel Breakfast at the Carlton Boutique Hotel, Tel Aviv Depart from hotel and drive to CHW Nahalal CHW Nahalal Youth Village * Participate in CHW Nahalal s annual Yom Ha Zikaron activities and miniceremony. Stand amongst students as the second siren sounds throughout Israel. After this meaningful moment, meet CHW Nahalal graduates who are currently serving in the IDF and hear their personal stories. Following this special experience, enjoy a hearty lunch with youth from the dormitories. * While at Nahalal, have a meaningful visit to the cemetery on the moshav. This is the resting place for many prominent Israelis, including Moshe Dayan, a graduate of CHW Nahalal and Israeli Defense Minister; Ilan Ramon, the first Israeli astronaut; and Ilan's son, Assaf, who was killed during his military service at the young age of 21. Depart from hotel and drive to Mini Israel Mini Israel * Witness the incredible transition that takes place as the day of mourning comes to a close and Israelis begin to celebrate the country s independence. Enjoy VIP access and rooftop fine dining, while dancing the night away at one of the most coveted spots on the evening of Yom Ha Atzmaut. Watch as the Israeli Air Force performs their annual Air Show display above the beautiful Mediterranean Sea. Depart from Jaffa & Neve Tzedek and drive to restaurant Lunch Benny the Fisherman * Enjoy the sights and sounds of the Tel Aviv Old Port with a front row seaside seat. A local favourite, Benny the Fisherman, offers fresh fish and dozens of homemade salads. Depart from restaurant and drive to museum The Israeli Museum at the Yizthak Rabin Center * Learn about the State s development and of Israel s monumental moments in history. 4 Day 5: Friday, April 24 A day of Israeli living as city meets country Breakfast at the Carlton Boutique Hotel, Tel Aviv Check-out of the Carlton Boutique Hotel, Tel Aviv Check-out time is 8:30 AM Take luggage with you as we will not be returning to the hotel Depart from hotel and drive to markets Walking tour and shopping at Shuk Ha'Carmel, Nachalat Benyamin, and Sheinkin Street * Delight in a morning of walking and shopping in the heart of Tel Aviv as the day begins with a stroll along the vibrant, colourful aisles of Shuk Ha Carmel. Along Nachalat Benyamin, seek out an art treasure to take home, as Israeli artists display their work. Finally, Sheinkin Street provides an array of boutiques and restaurants to capture all interests and tastes. Lunch on own Drive to Judean Hills Flam Winery * While over-looking the breathtaking Judean Hills, enjoy a sampling of exceptional Israeli wines. Hear about the family s 50-year long pursuit of creating quality wines in the heart of Israel. Tour the school, taking part in specially planned activities with the students. Depart from CHW Netanya and Drive to CHW Hadassim CHW Hadassim Children and Youth Village * Meet the children of CHW Hadassim and see why they call CHW Hadassim, home. Enjoy lunch with the children in the main dining hall. Depart from CHW Hadassim for a surprise event. Surprise event. Depart from surprise event and drive to Davidson Residence Dinner at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Davidson * Experience Israeli home hospitality as Dr. Benny Davidson, Director General of Assaf Harofeh Medical Center, and wife, Haia, provide a lovely dinner topping off this CHW-filled day. 6 Day 8: Monday, April 27 Uncover the Old City Breakfast at the Inbal Hotel, Jerusalem Morning visit to the Temple Mount (optional) * Discover one of the most significant religious sites in the Old City, for Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, during this early morning visit to the Temple Mount. Depart from hotel and drive to Old City Tour of the Old City * Learn more about the diversity of the Old City as this tour explores the Jewish, Christian and Muslim Quarters. Tasting Tour and Lunch * Delight in a lunch tasting tour visiting renowned eateries within the Old City: Bite into the best falafel, scoop up the most delicious hummus, and savour mouthwatering kebabs. Lunch on own Free Afternoon Suggested activities (not included in Mission package) - *please note certain activities have been booked in advance: * Museums: Yad Vashem, Tower of David Museum, Rockefeller Archeological Museum * Shopping: Mamilla Mall, German Colony, Old City, Ben Yehuda Street * Sightseeing/Landmarks: *Supreme Court, *Western Tunnel Tours, *Jerusalem Bird Observatory, Liberty Bell Park, Old Train Station * Shuk Machne Yehuda Tour Ignite your senses as you walk through the market and learn about both the vendors and history of the Shuk Depart from hotel and drive to Khoury Residence Dinner at the home of Amal and Ranin Khoury * Come home to the residence of Dr. Amal and Ranin Khoury, for a fun evening in the heart of Jerusalem. Amal, an orthopedic trauma surgeon at Hadassah Hospital has many interesting stories to share about the wonderful work he and his colleagues perform at Hadassah Hospital. Overnight: 5-star accommodation at the Inbal Hotel, Jerusalem Day 10: Wednesday, April 29 Modern Jerusalem and a fond farewell Breakfast at the Inbal Hotel, Jerusalem Depart from hotel and drive to Knesset Knesset and Dialogue with Female MK Speakers * Tour the Knesset, a symbol of Jewish sovereignty and home to lively debate. Hear from Members of the Knesset and gain insight into the complexities facing modern day Israel. Our Lunch on own Mount Herzl * Pay homage to those who have fallen in defense of the State at their final resting place, the Israel National Cemetery. Security Fence * See the fence and hear a detailed analysis of its strategic significance. Western Wall * As the sun begins to set on this last night in Israel, the Mission will visit one of Israel s most important sites for the Jewish world, the Western wall. Farewell Dinner and Party at Darna Restaurant * This last dinner together will be filled with laughter and fun, while recalling memories of our time spent on the Mission. Be entertained by belly dancers while enjoying the culinary experience that is Darna. Overnight: 5-star accommodation at the Inbal Hotel, Jerusalem 7
