4 Sinful Deals From Southwest Airlines Southwest Airlines ( has brought the bar to a new low for Las Vegas packages. Would you believe that it only costs $69 for roundtrip airfare from Los Angeles and two night's lodging (that's per person based on double occupancy)? There are conditions, of course. You must purchase this deal by August 7 th, and travel on a Monday or Tuesday between August 18 th and October 27 th. And the lodging is at the rear of Westward Ho! Hotel and Casino (

5 Now the Westward Ho! (rear) is not the Ritz. Here's a description right from the its web site - Central Strip Location 2900 Las Vegas Blvd. S. in Las Vegas, NV. Located between Circus Circus and The Stardust, directly across from The Riviera. We are walking distance from the Las Vegas Convention Center, and most of the major tourist attractions. We have Seven Hundred and Seventy Seven Rooms! Many of them are Apartment Suites designed for Couples traveling together. NEWLY REMODELED! However, for $69, including airfare, what do you expect? My sources tell me the rooms are clean, the restaurants good and the location is the middle of the Strip action. Just arrive expecting to stay in a cheap hotel (albeit one with a pretty nice casino and lounge and multiple restaurants), and you won't be disappointed. Besides, the Westward Ho! has its own budget level charms. It is right on the Strip, features four swimming pools, serves 75 cent bottles of Coors Light 24/7, and hosts the National Elvis Championship. Come on! Is this class or what? Oh, did we mention the free lunch every day, and unlimited drinks (soda, wine, draft beer) at the bar? Yeah, we thought that might get your attention. Really, where you stay doesn't matter anyway. If you can tear yourself away from the lure of that free lunch and booze at Westward Ho! they have a decent casino and you are in walking distance of lots of other great joints.

6 Besides, we figured you'd want to spend all of your time hanging out in the swankier hotels of the Strip anyway, racking up craps wins at Bellagio, beating the roulette wheels at Monte Carlo (they have single zero wheels) and killing the blackjack tables in the downtown joints. Besides, just drop a few more bills and you can upgrade your lodgings for departures August 18 to Sept 2. Here are some prices on two-night air/hotel packages from major US gateway cities. 9 Also, since the two airlines serve slightly different cities and where they overlap America West often uses the more "traditional" airports - O-Hare rather than Midway in Chicago, JFK rather than Islip in New York - and that could be more convenient for some of y'all. The following rates are for two-night stays after September 1 st, and as usual are per person based on double occupancy. However, note that to get the lowest price you must, if available, take a red-eye special departing between 5:59 am and 7:59 am. You also must book at least eight days in advance or face a $24 fee. Taxes and extras add up to about $40 per person.
