1 Endocrinology - Primary Care Update May 27-29, 2011 Participants for this conference have lodging reservations at both the Vdara and the Aria. The conference will be held at the Vdara Hotel and Spa located next door to the Aria Resort and Casino. General Travel Tips Climate The average High during May is around 85 degrees during the day and at night the Low is around 60 degrees. If you are planning on spending time out at night we suggest bringing a light jacket because it tends to get chilly and a little windy as well. Clothing Dress at the conference is casual. On the strip during the day is casual as well, comfortable weather appropriate attire for walking around during the day. Also wear comfortable shoes while walking around the strip. Going to some restaurants for dinner and going out for a night on the town there are dress codes for a lot of restaurants and night clubs. Please be sure to contact each venue with any questions about dress codes.

2 Getting Around Las Vegas Getting around Las Vegas is very easy and inexpensive. You can ride The Duce, which is their public transportation. It is only $5 for an all day pass per person. Taxi rides are $3.20 to get in and then $2 per mile. The Monorail runs from the MGM Hotel to Sahara Ave, 1 ride pass is $5, 2 ride pass is $9, 10 ride pass is $35. Walking the strip is a good way to really get a feel of what the Las Vegas Strip is all about. Make sure you wear comfortable, good fitting shoes; the strip is 4 miles long from end to end. Always obey walk signals and take water bottles with you because it does get very hot mid day. A rental car in Las Vegas is recommended if you are going to be doing a lot of travelling around town. The major car rental companies have booths at McCarren Airport but we suggest that you book your car before you leave home. Map of Las Vegas Blvd and Major Hotels

Insider Tip: Should you tire of going to the wonderful restaurants that are available, there is a gourmet grocery in the Vdara and your suite has a fully equipped kitchen. Entertainment: There are no actual entertainment venues inside the Vdara, but just outside of the hotel is a completely different story. And that story is called the Las Vegas Strip with all of its casinos, hotels and night clubs. Right next to the Vdara is another splendidly designed structure called Crystals. Although not entertainment in the usual sense, its high end stores such as Louis Vuitton, Tiffany and Ermenegildo Zegna to name just a few, along with restaurants by Wolfgang Puck is something to be seen and experienced. Vdara Pool and Spa: Located on top of the hotel entrance is 40,000 square feet of sky pool and lounge overlooking the Strip and City Center. There are also semi-private plunge pools and retreat cabanas. There is plenty of decking for just relaxing or poolside parties. This health and beauty areal include a full service spa and salon.

5 VDARA HOTEL AND SPA DINING Silk Road This is a very fine unique restaurant created by a very fine and unique chef, Mr. Martin Heierling. The chef previously worked his culinary magic at the Bellagio Hotel. The restaurant itself is a mixture of contemporary seating, sleek private booths and ever changing sculpturing lighting. Bar Vdara The Bar Vdara has been described as a glowing jewel box. It has a happy pleasant feel. There are structural forms, curved pools, even swings outside. Without a doubt it is whimsical in nature. It is good for a morning espresso or a late night cocktail and even a drink in-between. Sky Pool and Lounge This restaurant and lounge is located on the rooftop of the hotel s grand entry. It features world class DJs. There are secluded pools, and private cabanas. You can order gourmet tapas, appetizers and specially made cocktails. Being there is an intimate and playful experience and very unique to the Las Vegas Strip. Pools: The pools of the ARIA seem to blend in to its architectural design. Another words they don t look as if somebody dug them in as an after-thought. There are three pools and one European style pool. Surrounding the pools are 215,000 square feet of decking surrounding the pools. The Spa and Salon: The spa is on two levels. It is 80,000 square feet and is divided up into men and women sections. To relax and reenergize are what the spa is all about. There are warm beds of heated stone to relax on. If you wish to breath fresh air there is an infused salt room. Eucalyptus and redwood saunas are available. You can work-out in a well equipped fitness room. There is even a studio for group exercise. Massage therapy as well as skin treatments from all over the world is for your asking. You may choose to mingle on the co-ed balcony overlooking the pools. Casino: ARIA s casino which offers all of the usual types of gaming that you would expect uses is of a very special design that uses natural lighting with pools of illumination over gaming areas.
