3 LA THUILE SUNNY WILD UNSPOILED With Mont Blanc as a towering backdrop, Montana Lodge & Spa is nestled in the alpine resort of La Thuile, in the north-western part of the Aosta Valley, neighbouring Courmayeur and close to the French border. La Thuile, the westernmost town of the Aosta Valley is located at an altitude of 1441 m, is GINEVRA dominated by the 3,846 metre Mount Rutor with its gorgeous glacier. Sunny, wild, amidst MONTANA LODGE & SPA TORINO MILANO unspoiled nature, La Thuile is an alpine village firmly rooted to its traditions. La Thuile belongs to the Vallis Digna, terminal line of the Aosta Valley, adjacent to the French border through the Little St Bernardo Pass, a place of great historical significance since Roman times. The village, comprising of about 800 inhabitants - the Tchuileins - is divided into small hamlets and crossed by two torrents, the Dora Rutor and Dora Verney. The architecture of the houses is traditional and typical of mountain villages of the region, built like ancient times, with roofs covered with the typical lose slabs of stone, only found in the Valle d Aosta region. Brimming with fresh ideas, the chefs source high-quality Configuration Restaurant 300 M2 produce to create menus based on national and regional specialties. The Bistrot offers a more informal menu for lunches and dinners which include true Neapolitan pizza baked in an authentic wooden pizza oven. The restaurant offers all-day dining, with a magnificent breakfast buffet in the morning and à la carte service in the evening. The ambiance is sophisticated yet casual, with local touches of design. The hotel offers a fully equipped naturally lit Conference Room, which can also be Configuration Main Conference Room 177 M2 be converted to a dinner reception hall. The 177 sqm Conference room can seat up to 112 people (200 in reception format) which is connected to a functional foyer area for coffee breaks that can also be used as a welcome area. LOFT Spread over 2 floors, the Loft Rooms cover 34 sqm. Each has Hästens twin beds and a sofa bed and a balcony. GRAND DELUXE The Grand Deluxe Rooms cover sqm and each has a Hästens King or Queen bed and a balcony or terrace. Twin beds are available, and some rooms have a walk-in closet or a window niche. DELUXE SUITE The most spacious of the suites of Montana Lodge, the room hosts a Hästens King bed, a double sofa bed, an open-space Jacuzzi and offers a beautiful view of the village of La Thuile and the valley. 12 MONTANA SPA The Montana SPA is inspired by the natural elements and features an indoor heated swimming pool with a view on the picturesque Mount Rutor. Privacy is the essence at the treatment rooms, where pampering bespoke treatments are on offer to guests who want a purely indulgent experience, whether alone or as a couple. There are 4 single treatment rooms, a private SPA with a double treatment room and a room for manicures and pedicures. The Montana SPA also includes a gym (Technogym equipment), sauna, steam bath, vitarium and Terra & Acqua area.

16 Winter The ski runs leave La Thuile, at an altitude of 1,450 m, not far from Montana Lodge & Spa, and reach an altitude of over 2,600 m in an area known as Belvedere. Run number 3 is a challenging black 73% gradient piste dedicated to Franco Berthod, an exceptional skier and coach born in La Thuile who made downhill skiing history. This run is approved for World Cup competitions. Nordic skiing, heli-skiing, free-riding, snow-kiting are popular around La Thuile and there are also many opportunities for winter walks, quad riding, guided dog sleds and snowshoe excursions. With 160km of ski slopes and a range of nursery, intermediate and advanced runs, La Thuile offers open-space skiing on uncrowded slopes in a picturesque scenery. Espace San Bernardo, covering 80 pistes between France and Italy, links the French resort of La Rosière with La Thuile. One single international ski-pass provides access to 38 efficient lifts carrying up to 58,000 people per hour. Skiing either side of the French and Italian borders, in the silent presence of Mont Blanc and Rutor glacier, is a breathtaking experience. Thanks to La Thuile s efficient lifts, skiers and snowboarders rarely encounter queues.

17 Summer Hardy souls head for the heated mountain-top swimming pool at Chalet La Clotze, golfers descend on the local course in the Val Ferret and anglers head up to Lake Verney, 2088 m above sea level, in search of trouts. Mountain bikers can reach the top of the mountain with their bikes using the Bosco Express and Chalet Express chair lifts. Fifteen different mountain bike routes begin at 2,400 m, coded by different colours based on the level of difficulty. The 220 km of gravity defying paths wind through the panoramic forests and pastures between Italy and France. La Thuile has a pleasant summer climate perfect for nature walks and mountain sports. As the snow melts, skiers and snowboarders make way for mountain-bikers, walkers, rafters, canoeists and climbers. Montana Lodge and Spa guests can enjoy the natural beauty of the Valle d Aosta at the Val Veny, the Val Ferret, the Grand Paradiso National Park and the Piccolo and Grand San Bernardo Pass, a few km drive from the hotel. Each summer, the Cheval D Aoste Stables open for high-altitude horse riding and pony-trekking. Beginners can also try Baptism of the Saddle lessons.
