1 ITINERARY IN DETAIL Day 01 Arrive Paris Welcome to your 'Cox & Kings - European Glimpse' tour. On arrival, your Cox & Kings representative will greet you at the 'meeting point' at the exit. After immigration and customs, transfer comfortably to your hotel (check in after 1600 hours). Overnight in Paris. Dinner at an Indian restaurant Day 02 Paris After breakfast at the hotel, proceed on our highly recommended and fun- filled exclusive excursion to Parc Asterix. Here, 7 adventure areas, 27 attractions and 6 shows will set your heart racing. Thrilling rides and incredible shows make it a complete family attraction. Later, enjoy a guided city tour seeing famous monuments like the Pyramid of the Louvre, Garnier's Opera, the largest opera theatre in the world, the River Seine, the Place de la Concorde - the site of the infamous guillotine, the Champs Elysees - one of the most fashionable streets in the world, the Napoleanic Arc de Triomphe and the Hotel des Invalides. End the day taking in the dazzling overview of the glittering city as you ascend by an elevator to the 2nd Level of the Eiffel Tower! After dinner, the rest of the evening is at leisure. Grevin, a legendary site of entertainment since 1882, was created by Alfred Grevin, to produce and showcase life size wax models of celebrities. At the end of the 19th century, Arthur Meyer, founder of the famous daily newspaper "Le Gaulois", conceived the notion of showing his readers the people in the headlines of his paper, but in 3-D. At a time when the press did not use photographs, he came up with the idea of creating a site where the public could see people in the news. To implement this original plan, he called on Alfred Grevin, who was a cartoonist, designer and famous sculptor. The Grevin opened its doors on June 5th, It was an immediate success. At Grevin, relive glorious French history, meet celebrities and experience the Spirit of Paris, with over 300 wax figures in a setting of gold and marble! Cox & Kings Day 05 Leysin - Lungern Glacier 3000 awaits! An everlasting snow mountain, offering panoramic views of the most beautiful summits of the Alps. Ascent is by cable car to Scex Rouge (2971m). Feel a special adrenaline kick with a wild ride on the Alpine Coaster (weather permitting), the world's highest bobsleigh track. You can cruise along at approx. 40 km/hour and with the brakes you determine how fast you want to go. The ultimate highlight is the 520-degree loop, followed by 10 curves, 6 waves, 3 jumps and 2 bridges. The View Point (stairs) located directly behind the Restaurant Botta 3000 has a 360-degree view that includes some of the most beautiful alpine peaks - from the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau to the Matterhorn and the 107 meters Peak. Walk along a suspension bridge and take the Ice Express to ride the snow bus over the glacier. Then, return to Col du Pillion. Later, drive to Lucerne. See picturesque mountains, lakes, cowbells, alpine villages and meadows. Pause at the poignant Lion Monument, built to commemorate the brave Swiss soldiers killed during the French Revolution. Stroll along the covered, wooden Kapellbrucke (chapel bridge) to the ornate Jesuit Church. Later, transfer to the hotel in Lungern and check-in. Overnight in Lungern. Breakfast at the hotel, lunch at Glacier 3000 and dinner at an Indian restaurant / hotel Day 06 Switzerland The day is at leisure for independent activities. You can opt to explore Jungfraujoch, the 'Top of Europe', a wonderful world of glaciers and eternal ice. Note: Breakfast will be served to all at the hotel while lunch will only be served to those who have opted for the Jungfraujoch tour. Also, guests at the hotel will be given a packed dinner. Overnight in Lungern. Breakfast at the hotel and dinner at an Indian restaurant / packed dinner at the hotel Day 07 Lungern - Innsbruck Today, after breakfast, check-out and proceed to Innsbruck. En route, your drive today takes you to the Principality of Liechtenstein and a stop at Vaduz - the capital, famous for postage stamps. Later, proceed to Austria. Stop at the internationally renowned Swarovski Crystal Worlds in Wattens, and prepare to be dazzled at the 'Chambers of Wonder'! In a wondrous blue hall dominated by a Unicum - a wall of crystal, you see the world's biggest crystal and it's smallest! Over 7 million people from all corners of the globe, have already been thrilled by the Swarovski experience - now you are one of them! Continue a scenic drive to Innsbruck. Located on the Inn River, Innsbruck is one of Europe's most beautiful and lively cities. An international centre for winter sports which has hosted the Winter Olympics twice! The orientation tour introduces you to its world famous sights. View the Golden Roof or 'Goldenes Dachl', an ornate Gothic balcony erected by the Emperor Maximilian I in the 15th century, decorated with gold painted copper shingles. Next walk to the Imperial Church followed by the 'Hofburg' or Imperial Palace. This Capital of the Alps, has a history of 800 years! Later, check-in to the hotel. Overnight in Innsbruck. 3 Today, your journey takes you on a drive past quaint villages, medieval castles and fruit orchards and cutting across the fertile Adriatic Plains, to the magical lagoon city of Venice. Nothing prepares you for the captivating city of canals and palaces - Venice is simply unique! Built on 117 small islands, it is a pedestrian's city, so get set for a walking tour. Cruise from Tronchetto Pier and glide romantically past fairytale palaces, through incredible miniature canals to the Piazza San Marco (St. Marks Square), where you disembark. Napoleon dubbed the Square the 'finest drawing room in Europe' for its constant carnival atmosphere! Witness the bronze Moors striking the hour, as they have been doing for the past 500 years! From there to the Doge's Palace, connected by the 'Bridge of Sighs' to its prisons. It was from here that the legendary lover Casanova made his famous escape! End this exciting tour with a brief visit to a Murano Glass Showroom (when open) for a demonstration in glass blowing. It was on the island of Murano that glass was first made in Europe and hand blown Venetian glass is world famous. Then, relish a sumptuous dinner on the return cruise to Tronchetto Pier. Thereafter, continue to the hotel in Padova and check-in. Overnight in Padova. Breakfast at the hotel, lunch at an Indian restaurant and dinner on board the cruise Day 09 Padova - Tuscany Today, after breakfast, check-out and proceed to Pisa. Drive through a picturesque stretch of olive groves and vineyards to Pisa's wondrous Square of Miracles with its exemplary Pisan-Romanesque architectural structures- the Baptistery, the Cathedral and the popular Leaning Bell Tower, the characteristic tilt of which is what marks this Square as unique. Continue to Florence, a shrine to the wonders of the Renaissance, with more artistic treasures per square meter than any other city in the world! Included in your guided walking tour of Florence is a visit to the remarkable Duomo (when open for visitors), which is the fourth largest cathedral in the world. It dominates the city's skyline and still defines its scale - no building in town is taller! Besides it is the 'Gate to Paradise' - the heavenly gilded bronze doors of the Baptistry, originally a pagan temple and the open-air gallery in Signoria Square. Walk on the famous Ponte Vecchio, the oldest surviving bridge in the city. After an exciting tour, drive to the region of Tuscany where on arrival, you will be checked in to the hotel. Breakfast at the hotel, lunch at an Indian restaurant and dinner at an Indian restaurant / hotel Day 10 Arezzo 'Rome was not built in a day'- the truth of this oft quoted adage hits you with full force, as we pack in all the 'must see' agenda into our guided city tour! According to legend, Rome was founded by Romulus and Remus in 753 BC. Start your introduction to Rome with a journey to the Vatican the smallest nation in the world! It boasts a priceless art collection and is probably per square foot the richest country in the world! The most famous square of the Vatican is St. Peter's Square with St. Peter's Basilica, one of the largest churches in the world. Gaze in awe at Michelangelo's Pieta. Continue your tour driving past the triumphal Arch of Constantine, one of the most important commemorative monuments of antiquity and then drive through Piazza Venezia, where the grandiose monument to the reunification of Italy is often referred to as the Marble wedding cake! Pass the Circus Maximus - the Hippodrome - known for its ancient chariot races, which was reconstructed by Hollywood for the well known movie 'Ben Hur'! Pay tribute to the brave Gladiators of Rome, while we drive past the mighty Colosseum. At this amphitheatre, the notorious and gory gladiatorial games were held, where they fought one another and wild animals while the crowd roared! Pass the ruins of the Roman Forum and end the tour at the famous Trevi Fountain. Child Without Bed - Child under 12 years of age, sharing parent's room, without a bed or cot. A deviation charge of INR 2500 per person, in addition to the applicable difference between the group airfare within the package holiday tour cost and the market airfare for the changed sector / date, will be applicable. Once an air ticket is issued, date change penalty and rerouting charges (as applicable) will be charged. For two adults and two children (both under 12 years) rooming together, the 1st child will have to pay "Child with Bed" price and the 2nd Child will pay "Child without Bed" price. Itinerary is subject to change or alteration before or during the tour without notice due to feasibility of operation. Due to space restrictions in the coach, you are permitted to carry only one main bag (preferably strolley) and one hand bag on your tour. There are no refunds for any services i.e. meals, sightseeing, etc not utilized on your tour. The tour manager and driver will do their best to get you as close to the monuments as possible, because in some cities coaches are restricted. Additional supplements on account of fuel hikes as and when received would be applicable with immediate effect. The tour will be operated, subject to a minimum of 20 full paying adult passengers travelling together. In a room, there can be maximum of 3 adults. As a 3rd person in a Triple Room, most hotels use roll away beds or 2 queen size beds and the room size will be the same as a Double Room. In the event that the group size is less than 30 adult passengers, you will be given an option of travelling on an FIT basis, by paying an additional FIT Supplement. The tour will be conducted on a Seat-in-Coach basis for a group strength of 2-29, with the assistance of a local representative. Any damage caused to the hotel rooms / coach during your stay, shall be borne by the concerned passengers. The management reserves the right to claim any additional expenses incurred due to delay or changes in schedules of train, airplane, bus, ship or any other services. The rights to vary, amend, alter or withdraw any particular itinerary, departure or excursion rests entirely with the company. Due to demand of a particular airline the in / out points may change. Services however, will remain unchanged. Indian lunches, dinners and local meals are pre-set and a la carte would not be possible. Overseas travel insurance for the duration of the tour is included in the tour price. However, any passengers who wish to extend their stay will be required to pay additional charges. The company shall not accept any liability or responsibility for any damages, loss of baggage, loss, injury, accident, death, breakdown or irregularity, which may occur in carrying out tour arrangements due to weather conditions, strikes, war, threat of war, quarantine or any other cause whatsoever and all such loss or expenses must be borne by the passengers. The tour price mentioned is applicable provided there are more than 20 adult passengers travelling on tour; else FIT supplement may be applicable. If there are less than 15 adult passengers travelling on a group departure, all applicable transfers will be on Seat-in- Coach (SIC) basis. 8/13 8/13
