The restaurant Emmeline & Otto is located in the historical cellar of the main building. 4 HISTORY OF A CHARMING CITY ESTATE

Baron Theophil von Stackelberg and his family lived in the house for 6 years until it was sold to Doctor Johannes Fick in 1881.

5 The von Stackelberg Hotel Talinn has a very interesting history connected with the presence of the von Stackelberg family in Estonia. The house was commissioned in 1874 by Baron Theophil von Stackelberg and completed the following year. Baron Theophil von Stackelberg and his family lived in the house for 6 years until it was sold to Doctor Johannes Fick in The conference facility in the courtyard of the hotel is the former old horse stable of the estate, built at the same time as the rest of the house. The house was a so-called city estate. Various von Stackelbergs had previously also owned such city estates in Tallinn, both in the Upper Town and the Lower Town. Beyond Tallinn, the family owned many more manor houses and estates in various parishes throughout Estonia. Baron Theophil von Stackelberg was born in Parzimois (Partsi) on the 20th of February, 1838, and died in Koloshiza (Ingermanland, east of Narwa) on the 7th of September, He owned the 2,457 ha Fegefeuer Manor and both Koloshiza Manor and Osertiza Manor in Ingermanland. In military service he was a lietenaunt. He married Alexandrine von Rehekampff in Dorpat (Tartu) on the 1st of March Out of this marriage three sons and three daughters were born. Nowadays, his descendants live in Germany, Finland, the Netherlands, USA and South Africa. In Soviet Times, the estate was an Institute of Thermophysics and Electrophysics. Since 2004 the estate has been managed by Unique Hotels Group, which is privately owned.
