1 IN THIS BULLETIN: FROM THE COMMITTEE From Committee 1 HERTEL 2 Route 3 ECC 2008 Sponsoring 5 BULLETIN 07 JANUARI 2008 Dear Sailors, 99 days to go It is Thursday January 24 th and we just returned from Düsseldorf Boat show, our yearly break in wintertime walking between the many many boats and holiday presentations we really felt it as a warming up for ECC week. From your mails I learned that you also are looking forward to the ECC and to meet in Bodrum. Since last bulletin we have been quit busy with preparations for the logbook, the crew lists, collecting your nice pictures and making sponsor arrangements. Sasha organized the contract part for the boats as you will have noticed. Our contact with the Marina s and the local supporting organizers are developing well and gives us confidence that we will meet our goals being organizing an event for nice people who love sportive sailing in a beautiful area and like to meet people to make fun together. Most of you send us the crew information and the photo s required for the logbook and for other formability s. For those skippers who don t manage to arrange their information before the Februari 4 th we cannot guaranty to include it in the logbook. Please send all the information you have available now and complete it as soon as possible. Enjoy our bulletin no 7. We like to thank all skippers and crewmembers who made their company support ECC This enables us to arrange a lot of extra s for all participants. 2 For many years now, Hertel has been a passionate supporter and competitor in the annual Engineering Challenge Cup Race. The sporting character and the chance to meet with relations in a relaxed way makes ECC a unique event and each year it lives up to the expectations. This year, Hertel will be well represented as main sponsor. With three boats, one of which will be sailed by last year s winning team, over 20 sailors will represent Hertel. Last year the Hertel team led by Chris Melsen and Pieter van Beuzekom scored an unexpected and sweeping victory. We challenge you to beat them this year! As things are evolving, there is always an opportunity to improve. We feel very honoured to be able to be ECC s first main sponsor and are happy to introduce the communication centre. It will prove to be of great value in informing and keeping all participants up-to-date. And of course we are very much committed to making a big success of the welcome & prize giving parties.
