2 About sailing in Montenegro Montenegro is another amazing sailing spot of the Mediterranean Sea. It s more mountainous landscapes are a stunning setting for your sailing trip through the narrow bay of Kotor. From West to East: Herceg Novi, Tivat-Porto Montenegro, Kotor, Budva and Sveti Stefan are great places to discover for sailing enthusiasts. The coastline is more steep and rugged than in Croatia but equally attractive. The coastline km long, offers over 73 km of beaches and numerous coves. In the Montenegrin coast it s difficult to find good anchorages in coves, especially in the Gulf of Kotor, because of the steep mountains which create strong winds. However, there are terrific anchorages and coves in Montenegro, at least for daytime and in calm weather that offer safe and comfortable moorings. Navigare Zachting does not charge permit to international waters when sailing from Dubrovnik to Montenegro. 7-days suggested itinerary Day 1 Dubrovnik Cavtat, (12 NM) Start from then Dubrovnik ACI marina, Navigare Yachting base and sail to Cavtat. Spend the night in Croatian waters (prior to entering the Montenegro). Cavtat is the one of the loveliest small towns on the eastern Adriatic coast characterized by pleasant climate, rich pine vegetation, picturesque beaches, recreational and sports facilities, and Mediterranean cuisine. There are tourist facilities and restaurants in the town port and along the coast of the Tiha Bay. The promenades through the pine forest are 7 km long. The history of Cavtat goes to the days of Greece & Roman empire. Cavtat has been a part of the Dubrovnik Republic. There are several churches & cultural sights to be visited in Cavtat. In Cavtat, it is possible to anchor off at the SW end of the harbour in meters, although space can bear tight in view of the numerous moorings and other anchored yachts. The holding is good in mud and shelter as for the town quay. In Tiha bay, there is little space for visiting yachts in the tiny harbour and it is usually necessary to anchor off in the centre of the bay in meters. In case of strong winds (NE), it is better to anchor at Srebreno three miles NNW that offers better shelter.

3 Day 2, Cavtat - Herceg Novi, (16 NM) Spend a full day sailing south to Herceg Novi, Montenegro. The best beaches in this scenic area are only accessible by boat. Herceg Novi is located 4 Nautical Miles North from the entrance of the Gulf of Kotor. The citadel, at the top of the city has been well restored and offers a great walk. There are three medieval fortresses - the Turkish Kanli Kula, Spanish Spaniola, the Venetian Citadel. Herceg Novi offers beautiful small picturesque places, offering nice trips, tours and entertainment for tourists. The old city is full of small squares related to each other by narrow streets and stairs. The area is very dense in vegetation that create great sceneries and smells. Herceg Novi is like a medieval botanical garden on the Mediterranean coast known for having the clearest waters in this part of the Adriatic. The Habour offers around 30 berths for yachts up to 25 m and is quite welcoming. Anchorage is permitted west and east from port, in Meljine beach or near port of Zelenika. Port Zelenika is on the northeast shore of Herceg Novi bay. This port is border crossing passage where you can do all the necessary entrance-exit procedures. Day 3, Herceg Novi - Budva (30 NM) Sail to the Budva Riviera. The Budva coast is 21 km long with 17 beaches. It is among the most beautiful coasts in the world. Budva is located 25 Nautical Miles SE of the exit of the Gulf of Kotor, it s

4 a very pleasant sailing route. The landscapes in this part of the Montenegrin coast are quite different from those in the gulf of Kotor. Mountains leave room for long fine sand beaches and the water is clearer. Budva is the center of Montenegrin tourism thanks to the great number of beaches and hotels, bay islands and rich history. Well-known as the regional capital of nightlife, there no shortage of clubs along the seaside promenade. Close to Budva, a must for touristic visitors is attractive Sveti Stefan - a fortified island village connected to the mainland by a narrow causeway, its photogenic jumble of 15th-century stone villas overlooks an impeccable pink-sand beach and tempting turquoise waters. Several places to anchor are on this route: Žanjice beach (5 NM from Herceg Novi); Mirišta (6 NM from Herceg Novi). While in Budva we recommend Jaz beach for anchorage ( N E), and for bigger yachts, in case of south winds on west-northwest from cape Zavala, and in the case of north winds on the northeast shore of St. Nicolas island. Day 4, Budva Bigovo (12 NM) Bigova (or Bigovo, as it is also known) is a small fishing village, part of the Kotor Municipality. The village of Bigova is situated in a small, sheltered bay with rocky beaches and clear blue water. A calm seaside resort, it still retains an authentic identity of an ancient fishing village. Bigovo is intended, first of all, for a relaxing holiday you can relax alone, a small company or even the whole family as it offers plenty of sea fun activities: diving, snorkeling, learn fishing, try kayaking and boating or just sunbathe and swim on the local beach in clear sea water. Bigova enjoys ideal conditions for a seaside holiday, as the area sees plenty of sunshine during the summer around 240 sunny days each year and the days are hot and dry. Suggested anchorages: Dobra luka ( N E) or Oblatna ( N E).

5 Day 5, Bigovo Kotor (22 NM) Continue sailing to the ancient Mediterranean port of Kotor a city of traders and famous sailors, characterized by rich history with many stories to tell. The amazing Bay of Kotor, at the bottom of the Gulf of Kotor is among the 10 most beautiful bays in the world. The very well preserved medieval city of Kotor, listed as a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO, is surrounded by fascinating mountains that rise well above 1.000m high. Kotor no1 Best in Travel City for 2016 by The Lonely Planet, for many years attracts large numbers of tourists from all over the world. This fascinating old town leaves every visitor breathless. Located in a surreal and unique atmosphere, Kotor will tell you about the ancient legends and some amazing stories. There are many sights & atractions to be seen in Kotor (churches, palaces, city walls and other objects) but certainly the longest you should keep in Old Town. Anchorages: Port of Risan, Prčanj (west coast of Bay of Kotor), along Dobrota (east coast of Bay of Kotor) and west-northwest from port light in port of Kotor.

6 Day 6, Kotor Tivat (8 NM) Tivat is located in the central part of the Boka Kotorska bay. Although it is the youngest town in the Boka region, Tivat has a lot of interesting and attractive destinations. Tivat has a lot of interesting and attractive destinations, sacred monuments, sandy beaches and different summer touristic events. In the city itself there is the natural marina Kaliman, but the place to be is new modern marina for luxury yachts, with amazing settlement behind, Porto Montenegro.
