Prague Old Town For many world travelers, the Prague Old Town is the epitome of what a European square and old town (Stare Mesto in Czech) should look and feel like. This medieval settlement was once separated from the outside by a moat and city wall that was connected at each end to the Vltava River. The moat is now covered up by the city streets, but where it once was is considered to be the boundary of the old town.
