Halong bay - Kayaking 3 days, 2 nights on boat (Tour code: VK120) Day 1(L,D): Hanoi - Halong bay Leave Hanoi for Halong Bay at 8.00am. On the way we will have a short break for refreshment at a handicraft centre. Upon arrival in Halong City we board a Chinese junk for a fine seafood lunch and a short cruise to Sung Sot Cave. After a short exploration of the cave we enjoy a beautiful cruise through an amazing area of limestone islets. We will pass a floating village to reach Luon Cave, which is a tunnel thrusting through a mountain. Dinner and overnight on the junk. Day 2(B,L,D ): Kayaking Halong bay After breakfast we start paddling to Van Chai Floating village and then continue paddling to Dark Cave. Tide permitting, we explore this amazing cave by kayak. The cave is a 200m long, dark tunnel thrusting through a limestone mountain. The tunnel is the only entry to a secluded and beautiful lagoon. We can also explore some other caves nearby. Lunch on support boat in front of the cave. After lunch we paddle to Ba Trai Dao Lagoon, along a stunning and fairly rough sea channel, to explore its beautiful beaches. Continue paddling to Lan Ha Bay, which is smaller than Halong Bay but much more interesting with lots of secluded beaches. Cruise back to Halong Bay for dinner and overnight on mother boat. Day 3(B,L): Halong bay - Hanoi Breakfast on the junk and enjoy the sundeck of the junk while she navigates amazing rock formations of Bai Tu Long Bay to get back to Halong City. Lunch on the junk before heading back to Hanoi by bus.

16 Sapa Trekking Sapa Easy Trek (Tour code: VK201) Night 1: 8.00pm Depart from Hanoi by taxi to HaNoi Railway Station and catch the night train to Lao Cai (soft sleeper with air-conditioning, 4 people/cabin or 2 people/cabin on request), arrive in Lao Cai at 5:30 or 6:00am. Day 1(B-L-D): 5.30am Arrive in Lao Cai. The bus ride uphill to SaPa takes a little over an hour, giving you a glimpse of the stunning vistas and impressive rice terraces. You'll have breakfast in a local Restaurant, then meet with our local guide. Walk down through the villages of Lao Chai and Ta Van. The trekking route offers some challenge as you balance on the rice terraces and a small trail on the steep mountainside. The vegetation is dense as the trail leads up to a peaceful village perched on the Hoang Lien mountainside, relax by a local stream for a picnic lunch. Hang Kia is a small and scenic valley, which is home to a group of Flower H mong minority people. Tonight we will stay overnight with a H mong family. While our local guide cooks dinner we can take shower or stroll around the village. Dinner and relax. Day 2 (B,L,D): Trekking from Hang Kia to Van village After breakfast in the house we will say goodbye to the family and begin an exciting trekking day. Right after the village we will walk on jungle trail for one hour. The trail could be a bit wet due to the dense trees that keep sunlight away. After that we descend the hill passing farm and terraces. The scenery is stunning with mountains, terraces and expansive valley. After crossing a small river we reach a village of White Thai minority group, where we have lunch in a local house. After lunch, you may wish to have a short nap in the house. In the remainder of the day we will walk on village road to reach Van Village, a beautiful village of White Thai minority people. The road runs zigzag along the valley and through lots of scenic village. Tonight we will have dinner and stay overnight at homestay in a Thai family. DAY 5 (B): Ho Chi Minh city - Da Lat Transfer to Ho Chi Minh City's domestic airport for your flight to Dalat. Established as a hill station at the beginning of the century, Dalat's French chalets and pine forests are more reminiscent of an alpine village than a town in Southeast Asia. An afternoon of sightseeing in Dalat takes in the art deco former summer residence of Emperor Bao Dai, the old Dalat Railway Station, Xuan Huong Lake, the Central Market and Lam Ty Ni Pagoda where a Buddhist monk, Vien Thuc, produces abstract paintings and writes poetry. DAY 6 (B): Da Lat - Phan Rang - Nha Trang Leaving for Nha Trang after breakfast, you will visit the 13th century Po Klong Jarai Cham Towers perched high on a rocky hill surrounded by prickly pear cacti. After Phan Rang, travel through vivid green rice fields and salt ponds to Nha Trang, where an afternoon tour of the city includes the Po Nagar Cham Towers and Long Son Pagoda with its enormous white Buddha statue. DAY 7 (B, L): Nha Trang A morning boat trip on Nha Trang Bay visits some of the nearby islands where you will have the opportunity to swim and snorkel in the clear warm waters. DAY 9 (B, L): Hoi An - My Son - Tra Kieu - Hoi An Today there is a half day trip to the capital and religious centre of the former Champa Kingdom, My Son. Set in a lush green valley, dozens of red brick towers and sanctuaries dating from between the 7th and 13th centuries provide a breathtaking site. On the way back to Hoi An stop to visit Tra Kieu, formerly known as Simhapura or the Lion Citadel, that once stood as the capital of Champa between the 4th and 8th centuries. On returning to Hoi An, the afternoon is free to relax, browse for souvenirs in art galleries and silk shops, or maybe cycle to the nearby Cua Dai Beach. DAY 10 (B): Hoi An - Da Nang - Hue Leave Hoi An for Hue by road, passing through Danang where you will visit the Cham museum, which holds the finest collection of Cham artwork in the country. After your visit, drive over the Pass of Ocean Clouds before dropping down to the wonderfully photogenic fishing village of Lang Co. Then, you will reach Hue, the former imperial capital of Vietnam, to visit the ancient Forbidden City from where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and DAY 11 (B): Hue - Boat trip After breakfast, take a boat trip on the romantically named Perfume River to visit Hue's best-known religious site, Thien Mu Pagoda, as well as the mausoleum of former Emperor Minh Mang. In the afternoon, visit the elaborate mausoleums of Emperors Tu Duc and Khai Dinh. Enjoy some free time in Hue to explore its small streets and the Dong Da market. DAY 12 (B): Hue - Hanoi Transfer to Hue's airport for the short flight to Hanoi. Explore Vietnam's capital by an escorted, full-day city tour. Tree-lined boulevards, French colonial architecture, peaceful lakes and oriental temples make for a unique blend of east and west in this beautiful city. The tour includes such sites as Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, the One Pillar Pagoda and the Temple of Literature. In the afternoon, visit the museum of Ethnology. DAY 13 (B/L): Hanoi - Hoa Lu/Tam Coc - Hanoi Leave Hanoi for rural northern Vietnam and the site of the county's first capital, Hoa Lu. After visiting the two remaining sanctuaries of the ancient citadel, take a sampan (traditional boat) on the river through rice paddies to the grottoes of the sacred Tam Coc Caves. Enormous limestone karsts jut out from the green rice fields giving rise to this place's other name, 'Inland Halong bay'. DAY 14 (B): Hanoi - Traditional Villages - Night train to Sapa

73 Today, you will have a visit to Bat Trang ceramic village. After that you'll see Dong Ho traditional paper village, where 'giay do' paper is produced and painted. All the paper is made by hand and some still in the traditional method using only natural products. Then a visit to the But Thap old pagoda. In the afternoon visit Dong Ky wood village, where furniture inlaid with mother of pearl is made. Return to Hanoi before boarding the night train to Lao Cai (Sapa, Northwestern Vietnam). DAY 15 (B/L): Sapa You will arrive at Lao Cai train station in the early morning. From Lao Cai the road winds up the terraced hillsides to Sapa, a former French hill resort and home to some of Vietnam's most diverse ethnic groups. On arrival in Sapa, you will be transferred to your hotel for breakfast and the chance to freshen up. A morning walking tour of Sapa visits the busy market, whilst the afternoon visit features some nearby hill tribe villages. DAY 16 (B): Sapa - Hanoi In the morning enjoy a light trek to discover Sapa's lesser-known areas. Have the chance to enjoy the breathtaking scenery of mountain rice terraces, waterfalls and buffalo at work. Crossing rivers by suspended bridges you will witness people toiling the fields in Vietnam's traditional way before a free afternoon discover Sapa by yourself. Return to Lao Cai for the onward journey back to Hanoi by overnight train. DAY 17 (B/L/D): Hanoi - Halong bay On arrival at Hanoi train station, you will be served breakfast before heading to Halong Bay. DAY 5 (B): Hanoi - Overnight Train to Sapa After spending the day in Hanoi, you ll be collected from your hotel in late afternoon and taken to the train station. 75 journey into the north. The train is air-conditioned and the rhythm of the rails should lull you to sleep in your 4-bedded cabin. These are generally pretty comfortable, although tall people might find that their feet dangle over the edge of the sleeper couches. An Asian train journey is always an experience to be remembered. DAY 6 (B): Visit to Cat Cat village The next morning, you'll arrive in Lao Cai, and a minibus will be waiting to take you to Sapa- a 1½-hour road trip. On the way, you'll see paddy terraces climbing up the mountainsides like giant staircases. When you reach Sapa you'll check into your comfortable hotel. It is full of local charm and lies in the centre of town, with wonderful views across the rich, green valley. After lunch you'll take a guided walk of about 5km to the village of Cat Cat, home to the striking Black H mong people. The Black H'mong wear mainly black clothing, as their name suggests. The dye that they use tends to run and, as a result, their hands are also stained a little black. The adults chew betel nut- the seeds of the betel palm rolled up in a leaf. This often stains their teeth dark red. After visiting the village, you'll walk a little further to a cascading mountain waterfall before returning to Sapa for the night. DAY 7 (B,L,D): Trek to Lao Chai, Ta Van villages and homestay After breakfast you'll walk down through the villages of Lao Chai and Ta Van. The trekking route offers some challenge as you balance on the rice terraces and a small trail on the steep mountainside. The vegetation is dense as the trail leads up to a peaceful village perched on the Hoang Lien mountainside, relax by a local stream for a picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight at homestay at Ta Van village. DAY 8 (B): Visit to Giang Ta Chai - Overnight train to Hanoi After breakfast, you will have another trek to Giang Ta Chai a village of the red Dzao people then back to Sapa by motorbike or car. Relax, see Sapa town and Sapa market. At the end of the afternoon, you'll be taken to Lao Cai where you'll have plenty of time to grab an evening meal before boarding the night train back to Hanoi. DAY 9 (L,D): Hanoi - Cuc Phuong National park You'll arrive back in Hanoi at around 6am. Our driver and tour guide pick up you at the railway station. Drive to Cuc Phuong national park (130km). Stop on the way for breakfast. Arrive at national park at around 9am. Visit the Endangered Primate Rescue Centre to learn about the important work being done to help protect the endangered species of the park. After that drive 20km to the center of the park and then take a 2-hour trek through the old rainforest. Lunch at the restaurant inside the park. You can choose to stay overnight at the guesthouse inside the park or we can drive you 60km back to Ninh Binh and stay overnight at the hotel in Tam Coc. DAY 10 (B/L): Hoa Lu, Tam Coc - Hanoi

76 Leave Cuc Phuong national park for Hoa Lu (1.5 hrs). Visit the ancient capital of Vietnam and the famous old temples of The Dinh and The Le Dynasties. Cycle for an hour on picturesque quiet roads through villages, rice fields, rivers and rocky outcrops to Tam Coc (12km) for lunch. Boat journey (1 hour) in the heart of Inland Ha Long Bay. Take in the beauty of the karsts formations as you pass along their base and row into three of the many caves carved through the limestone. Stop for a short rest near a small shrine before returning to dock (1 hour). Drive back to Hanoi. DAY 11 (B): Hanoi - Hué You'll arrive in Hué by plane from Hanoi. It is an ancient city renowned for its Citadel that is encased within a square of walls 10km long and 2m thick. Hué was home to the Nguyen dynasty, and the seat of their power. The city is divided into two halves by the Perfume River. One side is home to the Imperial Citadel, while the French colonial town with most of the hotels and restaurants is situated on the opposite bank. We have left the programme empty for your first day in Hue, giving you plenty of time to settle in and explore the city. DAY 12 (B,L,D): Perfume River and a Forbidden City tour (B,L,D) Start by taking a leisurely boat trip on the romantically named Perfume River to visit Thien Mu Pagoda. Constructed in 1601, the 21-meter tall tower is the centerpiece of the pagoda and a symbol of the city. Continue to The Imperial Citadel where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and After exploring the ruins of this wonderful monument depart to the Mausoleum of Tu Duc. Built decades before its occupant's death, the tomb was used as a palace retreat before its final use as the emperor's resting Hue Vietnam place. Finish up the day at Khai Dinh's Tomb which is traditional Vietnamese in design but accented with a European touch, making it unique from the other tombs in Hue. Situated in the central region, the historical town is a perfect place to break up the journey from north to south. It is popular with backpackers who are drawn here by the wide range of quirky restaurants and cafes, the inexpensive tailors, and the lovely nearby beach. There is plenty to do in and around Hoi An. You can get measured up for a suit, or pedal about town on a rented pushbike. You could also cycle past the paddy fields to the sandy beach. Choose a spot under a thatched parasol with a book and some freshly sliced pineapple. At sunset, the local people flock to the beach to cool off and play some football after a long day at work. It is an experience not to be missed. After lunch, visit the Cu Chi Tunnels. Cu Chi is a tranquil place of rice paddy fields with ducks and water buffalos bathing in the rivers alongside the road. But this peaceful rural scene belies the terrible destruction and defoliation caused by bombing and mines when Cu Chi was a "Free Target Zone". Cu Chi still contains plenty of evidence of the fierce battle that took place here and all over this area you will find the remnants of war DAY 18 (B/L/D): Saigon - Mekong Delta overnight on boat Mekong Delta, where the mighty Mekong River approaches and fans out into the sea, is a colorful and vibrant region. Deemed as the rice bowl of Vietnam, it is home to a complex system of distributaries and is dotted with countless rice fields, fruit orchards, handicraft villages and floating markets. The best way to experience Mekong Delta's endless waterways is none other than an overnight cruise. This morning, leave Ho Chi Minh City for the 2.5-hour drive to the delta town of Cai Be.

Landing on the local people village to visit rice noodles and rice papers workshops of local people. After lunch at the local restaurant, transfer back to Saigon. Day 11 (B,L): Saigon - Mui Ne Leave Ho Chi Minh City by road for Phan Thiet. The scenic 200km drive north on Highway One passes through the bustling city of Bien Hoa before cutting through dense rubber plantations.
