Having toured Port of Spain and seen the city's most famous monuments; the parliament, Queen's Park Savannah and enjoyed a short stroll in the botanic gardens, you will return to the Caroni Swamp nature reserve. The reserve is home to numerous species of animals, but especially to birds, including the species that is one of the national birds of Trinidad and Tobago, the scarlet ibis. Around 15,000 ibis use the swamp as their nesting ground.
