(GFL A ). 1) Preparation of questionnaires and coordination with the LBS focal points and those of the GEF CReW Project of Spanishspeaking countries involved in the study (Panama, Costa Rica, Guatemala and Honduras). 2) Work missions to the countries- surveys and interviews with players involved in the ratification/membership process in each country (focal points of the LBS Protocol and GEF CReW Project). 3) Collection and analysis of the results of the April March Havana, Cuba. 1) To identify the main problems/difficulties faced by Spanishspeaking countries involved in the GEF- CReW Project in order to ratify the LBS Protocol. 2) To identify the main challenges that countries have to face once the LBS Protocol has been ratified. 3) To propose a methodology in order to assess the difficulties/challenges faced by countries when ratifying and/or supporting the LBS Protocol which may be applicable to the UNEP CAR/RCU- GEF CreW Project 60,000 21, RAC- Cimab, Panama, Costa Rica, Honduras and Guatemala. 1) A study of the main problems, difficulties, weaknesses and challenges faced by Spanish-speaking countries involved in the GEF CReW Project (Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras) for the ratification of the LBS Protocol in order to comply with the obligations laid down by the LBS Protocol. 2) A proposed methodology for this type of study which can be replicated in English-speaking 2

3 Coordination Meeting of Focal Points from Spanishspeaking Countries Participating in the GEF-CReW Project questionnaires/ interviews carried out during the work missions. 4) Preparation of the final report. 5) Regional Workshop to discuss the results of the study and to approve the proposals made. 6) Designing and printing of a brochure. Coordination and execution of a work meeting with Focal Points from Spanish-speaking countries participating in the GEF-CReW project Havana, October 16-17, 2014 countries involved in the GEF CReW Project. 4) To identify training sessions aimed at assisting countries, in accordance with the obligations laid down by the LBS Protocol, in particular, Annexe III pertaining to domestic wastewater. 5) To disclose information on the obligations in a simple and reader friendly manner, following the ratification of the LBS Protocol. 1. To have technical discussions to agree on a plan to implement the activities currently being developed by the countries (SSFA). 2. To have a professional exchange to discuss the scope of a regional training event under planning 3. To promote the Land-based Sources and Activities Protocol (LBS) 4. To proceed to UNEP CAR/RCU GEF CreW Project RAC- Cimab, Panama, Costa Rica, Honduras and Guatemala countries involved in the GEF CReW Project. 3) An individual roadmap for each country evaluated where it shows that a schedule and an approximate cost need to be prepared for the ratification of the Protocol. 4) A brochure which shows explicitly the countries main obligations once they are member states to the LBS Protocol Completion and signature of the SSFAs for Honduras, Panama and Costa Rica with UNEP CAR/RCU. Trinidad and Tobago, May, The RAC-Cimab Director received and accompanied the Regional Director of the Caribbean Environment Programme during his visit to Cuba in April, Participation of the RAC-Cimab Director in the 1st Meeting of the Contracting Parties (COP) in the Protocol concerning the Pollution of Land-based Sources and Activities (LBS Protocol) in the Wider Caribbean Region, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, October 2012 Participation of the RAC-Cimab Director in the Regional Expert Panel Monitoring by taking part in teleconferences, discussions and other activities undertaken by the panel since its inception. Participation of the Director and a RAC-Cimab expert in the Second Meeting of the Scientific, Technical and Advisory Committee to the Protocol Concerning Pollution from Land-bases Sources and Activities, in Managua, Nicaragua, June
