2 Aquastorm Electrovert The Aquastorm is a versatile, highperformance cleaning system designed to optimize the PCB cleaning process while minimizing overall cost. Its compact footprint and patented cleaning and drying technologies make the Aquastorm an energy efficient and cost effective cleaning system for your manufacturing process. Versatile, Proven Cleaning Performance The Aquastorm series includes three models that address nearly every cleaning need. The Aquastorm 200, with its triple-tank design, is ideally suited for RMA fluxes and no-clean applications that require a saponifier, and watersoluble organic acid fluxes. The Aquastorm 200 with Torrid Zone includes an advanced drying module. The Aquastorm 100 is a single tank design that excels with water-soluble organic acid fluxes and water-based no-clean fluxes. 3 Lead-Free Process Ready The importance of cleaning electronic assemblies increases dramatically with lead-free soldering. Higher temperatures are required in lead-free soldering, and wetting is much more difficult. To improve wettability, the flux compositions may require higher activation. High-solid flux formulations commonly leave more residue, which then requires cleaning. It is necessary to have a cleaning system capable of handling the harsh demands of lead-free. The Aquastorm s cleaning technologies such as the patented Hurricane Jet and JIC nozzle methods provide unmatched high impact force to penetrate under and around components and clean even the most difficult flux residues. Cleaning Performance The Aquastorm uses proprietary pump and nozzle technology to optimize performance. Different functional sections of a cleaner accomplish different tasks in removing contamination. Some sections maximize flooding, while others maximize impact force for cleaning tight spaces. Because the Aquastorm 100 system runs with water only, it is ideally suited for complete closedloop applications. That means zero effluent discharge and minimal water and energy usage. With the Aquastorm 200, appropriately sized modules and strategic manifold placement increase throughput capability while ensuring thorough contaminant removal. The Aquastorm series design features perforated rails, curtain containment and a cabinet designed to manage wash chemistries within the system for optimal use of saponifiers. An enhanced chemical isolation section is available with an onboard tank and pump to allow for closed-loop recycling of the rinse section. Even the exhaust is separated between the wash and rinse sections to minimize the migration of chemistry through the system. 4 Drying Performance Complete and efficient drying is crucial for electronics assembly. An effective cleaning system will accelerate operations - providing cost savings and superior return on investment. The Aquastorm series offers various drying options that provide the flexibility to maximize production for any drying requirement. Torrid Zone Electrosonic Airknife SCAT Nozzle Torrid Zone Drying Power Nestled into the existing machine enclosure, the Torrid Zone unit delivers superior levels of drying power. Typical performance includes drying complex assemblies to within 0.1 gram of original dry weight. The module delivers a 44% percent reduction in exhaust requirements and a 15% decrease in power consumption when compared with conventional dryers -- providing a quick return on investment. In addition, the reduction of 1600 CFM in required exhaust volume will save users in HVAC costs and reduce power demand. The Torrid Zone module also features a direct drive blower system and a motor head that operates up to 275 F. These features translate into a reduction in maintenance requirements and MTBF. With the incorporation of direct-drive blowers, production downtime, on-site belt inventory, and associated blower belt replacements disappear, while yield and reliability increase. Preserving the wash solution chemistry balance preserves the company s chemistry budget, the environment, and production process integrity. This layout supports a full cascade for easy interface with REsys closed-loop water recycling systems. CAT Nozzles The Aquastorm 200 adds to the Aquastorm 100 configuration with a drag-out station and additional rinse section to support not only straight water applications, but an isolated wash for saponifier use.

5 Control System Controls The Aquastorm series offers unequalled control flexibility in a simple, easy-to-use format. All system functions are accessed via the touch panel with graphic symbols and an eight-line liquid crystal display with keypad. Indicator lights provide real-time status display of water levels, pump and blower operation, temperature and fill/drain operation. These indicators provide easy diagnostics should the system shut down. A separate panel houses gauges displaying upper and lower manifold pressure for each wet section.
