2 HOY SCANDINAVIAN HOY EXCLUSIVE HISTORY Hoy Scientific was founded in 1995 by Ole Hoy and 11 years later - in 2006 another company saw the light of day, named Hoy Scandinavian. The main area of business of these two companies was import of products for nuclear departments, PET and cyclotron centres and other communities applying isotopes, radiation protection and products for radiation therapy and X-ray departments. PRODUCTS AND ACTIVITIES HOY SCANDINAVIAN Hoy Scandinavian develops and manufactures Hoy Exclusive, a new in-house product line - offering quality products for radiation protection in nuclear medicine and PET departments. The product portfolio has a modern timeless Scandinavian design (some of the products are even patented) and offers maximum ergonomic comfort aligned to European standards. HOY SCIENTIFIC Over the last few years the company has expanded its activities strongly in the field of development and sales of customized assignments such as desk/wall/waste coverings, custom-made lead glass (dimension and thickness), hot cells, alterations and moving of radiochemistry departments. Hoy Scientific is also a supplier of custom-made solutions in packaging (in large or small numbers) of radioactive shipments. The company imports and represents instruments with applications in nuclear medicine and PET departments in Scandinavia AND IN THE FUTURE The company offers personal, committed guidance and development of equipment - and employs today 5 employees of which 3 are engaged with direct sales. When it comes to larger tasks, services are outsourced to draw on more highly trained technicians with many years of experience. The company has a very close cooperation with a local machine shop who has great expertise in turn and mill tasks. HOW TO TREAT OUR PRODUCTS SOME IMPORTANT GUIDELINES FOR PROPER AND SAFE CLEANING: Lead glass is a soft glass material which can be scratched and break from hazard. The softness of the lead glass is due to the lead glass density. Lead glass can be compared with home crystal glassware. It is possible to make deep scratches with a knife. HOW TO CLEAN THE COLOURED ANODIZED LEAD GLASS PRODUCT: Never wash any products in a dishwashing machine. Cleaning in a dishwasher will corrode the coloured surface and it will get corroded. The lead glass will get matt and it will be difficult to look through the glass. FOR PROPER CLEANING: Use alcohol or normal dish soap. In general never use alkaline substance because it will damage the surface and lead glass. It is also very important to avoid temperature chocks. 2

3 SYRINGE SHIELDING New generation of personal protection for syringes The syringe shield is designed to give the best mix of personal protection and a high functionality, together with fitting the syringe perfectly. Hoy syringe protection comes in different models and 2 colours. The syringe shields are available with three different types of locks: Spring Lock, Twist Lock and Screw Lock. TUNGSTEN SYRINGE SHIELD: LEAD GLASS HIGH DENSITY (5,2g, cm 2 ) TUNGSTEN SHIELDING 2,5 mm The tungsten syringe shield is designed for all types of syringes and for the following sizes: 1 ml, 2 ml, 2,5 ml, 3 ml, 5 ml and 10 ml. LEAD GLASS SYRINGE SHIELD: LEAD GLASS HIGH DENSITY (5,2g, cm 2 ) THICKNESS 5,5 mm. The lead glass syringe shield is designed for all types of syringes and for the following sizes: 1 ml, 2 ml, 2,5 ml, 3 ml, 5 ml and 10 ml. LOCK TYPES: SPRING LOCK The spring lock encloses the syringe by pushing a button to release a small stick that attaches the syringe into the sleeve. TWIST LOCK The twist lock encloses the syringe by twisting the syringe into the two flanges that attaches the syringe into the sleeve. 3

4 SYRINGE SHIELD W/ LIGHT New generation of personal protection for syringes Hoy syringe protection is now available with light in the window. The new syringe shield with light is designed to give the best mix of personal protection and a high functionality, together with fitting the syringe perfectly. This syringe shield is available with two different types of locks: spring lock and twist lock. The syringe shield is with a lead glass density of 5,2 g, cm and a tungsten shielding of 0,5 mm. The syringe shield is integrated with a vibration sensor, which turns on the light, by movement. PART NO: When charging the syringe shield, the red light on the charger will be activated, when the red light starts blinking the charging is started, and when the green light accurs the syringe shield is fully charged. Battery protector is integrated in the syringe shield, which means that you cannot overcharge the shield, so you can leave it on the charger when not in use. The syringe shield s light will be activated for 5 seconds if not moving the shield. If moving the shield constantly the light can be activated for 7 minutes. It only takes 2 hours to fully charge the syringe shield. The syringe shield consists of a rechargeable battery which is charged with the supplied charger. The vial glass is shielded for low-energy isotopes. Tungsten parts in top and buttom ensure the small physical dimension and weight, which offers maximum ergonomical comfort. The lead glass has a unique magnetic lift-off top for needle injection. The enclosed vial adaptors and memory foam ensure that the vial is always correctly positioned and aligned. The Hoy tongs for vials are designed for use when you need a fast and safe grip for the handling of a hot radioactive vial. The 2 gripping claws with a radius equal to the cap radius of the vials, gives an excellent grip of the vial. One claw has an edge which ensures a fast and safe grip on the vial aluminium cap. The tongs are designed so that you simply push the white disc against the handle to open the claws. The spring locking automatically holds the vials during the transport of the vial without having to hold and secure the vial. The claws are very tiny and it is therefore possible to grip a vial in a very tiny container safely. The short tongs are for working behind a shielding and the long model for more free use. The model with the long claws is for vials in deep shielding. The tongs are designed i 12 different ways. The tongs are designed in a straight, short model with long or short claws.
