Task 3- Questionnaire from Spain Interviews with European students Hungary This questionnaire should be made for a student from who is studying abroad your country or have studied abroad 1.Interview with a student spent a school year in the Dominican Republic I was an exchange student, so I stayed at a family, but you can stay at shared apartments, on-shore studios or hotel as well. They eat rice every day I stayed at a village, so the cheapest way was walking, but like any underdeveloped nation, the Dominican Republic suffers from lack of good paved roads to connect smaller towns and less populated areas, major town roads however are in good condition. In bigger cities you can use public cars and as a standard, a 4 person sedan (driver included) usually carries 6 passengers, twice the amount for which they were designed... No, it isn t. it is much cheaper than in Hungary Not really, there only some people to whom I could speak English to You can play billiard, ride a motorcycle, walk in the park, look at the mountains and fiedls
You can visit bigger cities, such as the capital San Domingo, No, it isn t peso in Hungary the official language is Hungarian but you can easily find people speaking mostly English and German, but Spanish, French, and Italian are also learnt and taken exams in by many students, but some also study Japanese or Turkish but in the Dominican Republic Spanish is the official language, some speak English and maybe Italian a bit Yes, you can By Cserne 2. Interview with a students spent a year in Seville, Spain You can easily find rooms to rent anywhere in the city, sharing it with other students. Spanish people used to wear the wonderful flamenco dress in every special occasion, like the feria. Buying metro and bus pass you can move around easily, or you can also rent a bike doing that you can get and leave a bike in every bike point of the city. It s not that cheap, but if you find the right spots it is kind of affordable.
Spanish people don t really speak English properly, but they used to enjoy trying it In Sevilla, you can always go around in the historical center, see the Giralda, the Catedral, and you can easily get to see cities around such as Granada or Córdoba. Yes Euro. Depending on which part you are, different dialects of Spanish are used. Yes. by Zsófia 3. Interview with a student who spent a schoolyear in Lisbon, Portugal You can find rooms to rent all around the city what you can share with other students. regional colourful dresses, variety of superb dishes, pilgrimage festivals, like Hungary, Portugal is also famous for its wine You can buy metro pass, which is possibly the cheapest way to move around but still quite expensive compared to other countries. You can always find nice and cheap places around.
The younger generation of Portuguese people speak English good, but while doing your everyday stuff you can have difficulties with communicate in the shops for example. Portugal has a lot of amazing cities, such as Lisbon, Cascais, Porto, Algarve, all have their own beauty and speciality. Lisbon has loads of amazing monuments and historical parts while having the ocean extremely close. Yes. Euro The basic language is Portuguese, but some of the people used to speak English also. Yes by Zsófi 4. Interview with a student who spent a schoolyear in Malaysia, Asia there are many possibilities from luxury hotels, to cheap hostels. The prices are quite high. If you stay for a long time you are allowed to buy your own house but in case you do not have enough financial means, the best solution is to rent a flat, apartment, condo or serviced apartment (enumeration on the ground of luxury). A condo is the most popular one among expats. This usually is a large apartment with numerous extra facilities. These facilities usually are a swimming pool, a garden, a barbecue site, fitness, a nice lobby and many other extras Muslim country, they selebrate Hari Raya, Hari Raya Haji
Taxi is pretty cheat in the main city, but in peak hours public transport is kind a cool and clean. but don t take Buses. they are dirty and doesn t have an exact path, they are going where they want street food is good and safe to eat and its cheap! in Kuala Lumpur, its easy to communicate in English. other parts not really City is really good to see. there are many palces to visit. China town, food market (pasar malam) and night market I havent seen people from Spain there. other then those who came for an exchange year Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) in my country, there are malays, chinese and indians, therefore malay, mandarin and tamil is really widely spoken there not at all. since its not in Europe by Gábor 5. Interview with a student who spent some months in Serbia as a volunteer Serbia offers hotels, motels and private accommodation possibilities as well if you wish to stay for longer period depending on your badget
2. Which are the customs of the country? Customs.. the night life is great like in Budapest they follow ortodox religion so they have christmas on the 7th of January (also new year at 13th on january but nowdays they don t really celebrate), they have a spacial holiday called "slava" the celebration of the "house protector hero's" (i don t know how to say) Slava is one of the biggest celebration in Serbia, in that day the families make a big lunch and invite every family members On the easiest way to move around the country to take a bus, trains are pritty unreliable and slow It's harder to find healthy food because Serbs love eating, they eat meat with meat, but they have many special teasty foods which are famous like pjeskavica, csevapcsicse i adore it! Ohh and it's not so expensive actually costs like a hamburger They speak english very well (Better than Hungarians) I think because of the nonsyncronised moovies In Balgrade there are many historical places like Kalamegdan from the turkish times, castles, museums (nikola tesla is a famous one), parlament, you can go to climb mountains, the views are so beautiful There are many young people even in small cities you can find lot of students also at nights I am not sure about Spanish people.. more Russians instead Currency: dinar Serbia has only one nationwide official language, which is Serbian. Other languages spoken in Serbia include Albanian (spoken in Kosovo), Hungarian, Romanian, Slovak, Rusyn,
Croatian (all of which are official regional languages in the Vojvodina province), Ukrainian, Bulgarian, Romani, Czech, Bosnian, etc 10.Can I use the European health insurance card in your country? You can't use that card by Eszter, Serbia 6. Interview with a student who has been studying at a University in Vienna, Austria The cheapest way is student hostel which costs around 8-10 euros per night, but there are several hotels also all around Vienna. Austria mostly has the basic europian customs, it's a realigious country, their famous tradition which is actual is Fasching, which is a carnival in February and people dress up for it and scare away the winter. The cheapest way to go is by public transport, Vienna has one of the best public transportation in the world, with more than 10 subways and a lot of trams. Also the price is acceptable, they're really proud of that you only have to pay 1 euro per day to use the public transport. Well it depends. For people there it is not expensive because they earn more money than in my country, but I think it is o a reasonable price and also there is a huge variety of healthy food everywhere. Yes, almost everyone speaks really good English.
It's a beautiful city full of sightseeings, it has some pubs with good home made beers, you can go hiking near Vienna, or biking, also Austria has some popular ski paradise. The most famous sightseeing is the zoo, which is the oldest zoo in the world. It is huge and it has a lot of amazing animals. Another famous thing is the Prater, which is an old amusement park. It also has a castle in Schönbrunn and the Rathaus and a lot of other beautiful and famous building. Yes it is very common, a lot of international students study here Euro The official languge is German, but Bosnian, Croatian, Montenegrin, Serbian, Hungarian and Polish are also spoken in different parts of the country Yes, you can by Marianna, Vienna 7. Interview with a foreign student spending a schoolyear in Budapest, Hungary You can find rooms to rent around, or you can always stay in a hostel for quite cheap. We have some special national clothes, but they are just used on special holidays by a small amount of people only.
Buy getting transport pass for students, it doesn t cost that much and you can use it for every transport vehicle. (metro, bus, tram, etc) It depends where are you searching, but you can always find good places. Yes, most of the time. Just staying in the capital, you should definitely see the Parlament, the Castle, the Fisherman s Bastion, the Heroes Square, you can try out one of our amazing spas, visit one of the museums, etc. If you have more time here you can also visit our sea, the Balaton, or some beautiful villages around, such as Dobogókő or Hollókő. Not that common, but you can always find some doing their Erasmus here. Forint. The official language is Hungarian. Yes. by Sophie
