1 Thank you for volunteering for the Spring 2018 Las Vegas Wash Green-Up! As a reminder, you have registered to participate in this important planting event slated for Saturday, March 17, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. (noon). Included in this is a link to a packet containing the event itinerary, a liability waiver, driving directions and a site map of the Green-Up location. Please remember to bring your signed liability waiver on the day of the event. Waivers for volunteers under the age of 18 must have a parent s or guardian s signature. Extra waivers will be available at the check-in area the day of the event. If you registered on behalf of a group, please forward the packet of information to everyone in your group who is planning to attend the Green-Up. On the day of the event, please wear appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear for outdoor work you may also consider bringing sunglasses and a hat. The schedule is as follows: 8:15-8:45 a.m. 9 a.m. 12 p.m. 12 to 1 p.m. Volunteers arrive at the parking area Planting begins Planting concludes Free barbecue lunch for volunteers Important Note: The event may end earlier depending on the number of volunteers. Volunteers are welcome to leave early if necessary. If you are picking up a volunteer at the end of the planting event, please plan to arrive at approximately 12 p.m. (noon). Directions Take U.S 95 South and exit east on Tropicana Avenue. Take Tropicana Avenue past Boulder Highway. Turn left at Wetlands Park Lane Follow the signs to the parking area. Directional signs will be posted in the area. If you have difficulty finding the event site on the day of the Green-Up, please call Damon Hodge at (702) for assistance. Each volunteer will receive a complimentary Green-Up cap. Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear for outdoor work and consider wearing a hat; tools will be provided to the volunteers. To save time during check-in, please have each member of your group fill out a liability release form (enclosed) and bring it to the event. In the unlikely event of adverse weather conditions, the Green-Up may be postponed for safety reasons. If weather conditions are poor the day prior to the event, please call and check the message for details. 3 Las Vegas Wash Green-Up Release of Liability/Photo Use I,, release the Southern Nevada Water Authority (Authority), City of Henderson (COH), Las Vegas Valley Water District (LVVWD), Clark County Water Reclamation District (CCWRD), Clark County Parks & Recreation (CCP&R), Las Vegas Wash Coordination Committee (LVWCC), Nevada Division of Environmental Protection (NDEP), its Board of Directors, officers, agents, and employees from any and all losses, claims, costs, damages and liability as a result of my voluntary participation in the March 17, 2018, Las Vegas Wash Green-Up event. I understand the risks involved in this type of outdoor activity, which may include but are not limited to, sun/insect exposure, wild animals, rocky terrain, and unstable ground. I acknowledge these and other risks and fully assume the risks involved. I am participating on my own accord and will take full responsibility for my own safety and that of any minors in my care. In the event of an injury, no action will be taken against the Authority, COH, LVVWD, CCWRD, CCP&R, LVWCC, NDEP and/or any of their employees and/or officers, nor will any effort be made for reimbursement of medical expenses incurred for the treatment of such injuries.
