The Lords of the Sky exhibit relates the glory and misfortunes of these airmen through history. Augmented reality technology plunges visitors into an unusual sensory environment that is truly unforgettable. There are darker aspects to some of these events, however. The Dark Side of the Medal takes another look at some important episodes in the history of the Royal Canadian Air Force. 2 Centre d'histoire Sir-William-Price Interpretation site - History and society / Science and Technology - Industrial Heritage Built in 1912, the St. James the Apostle Anglican chapel held church services until the mid-1980s. On the eve of being demolished, the chapel was moved to Ball Park with the intention of using it as a museum. The Sir William Price Heritage Centre was founded in 1987, thanks to the concerted effort of citizens and the city of Jonquiere to save the Anglican chapel. The organisation s mission is to promote heritage, including historical, architectural, urban and industrial, in Saguenay s Jonquiere borough. The activities of farmers and their communities along the rural concession roads have always had an impact on the countryside. The Centre d'interprétation de l'agriculture et de la ruralité (CIAR), an interpretation centre devoted to agriculture and rural life, looks at the rich local heritage and knowhow of a community that gradually developed over the years. It examines the different crops and colours in the fields throughout the seasons, and examines agricultural issues facing future generations. The Centre, set on an enchanting site, features a huge collection of artifacts and offers a variety of unique activities. It is part of our history, a witness to our past, but also a glimpse of a new heritage to be created. The Pulperie de Chicoutimi has been extensively renovated, and now houses a regional museum with seven art, history and ethnology exhibitions telling the story of local people and the challenges they have overcome, along with cultural and educational activities and an updated interpretation tour. It is an authentic slice of Quebec heritage and tells the story of three generations of cheesemakers, as they passed down the know-how and traditions that earned them success and renown. The museum reflects the history of a region, explains traditions and preserves a rich heritage. Gonzague, the owner and operator of the mill, explains all the secrets of this magnificent monument and shows visitors how it works. It s a spellbinding experience that takes visitors back 115 years into the past, to a time when our whole region was developed thanks to those pioneers sweat and toil.
