An internationally recognised qualification, the Commercial Pilot Licence is the minimum requirement to be employed as a pilot, and forms a solid foundation to build additional qualifications including AVI50408 Diploma of Aviation (Instrument Flight Operations) and the Flight Instructor Rating. Course Duration 52 Weeks Course Delivery Full time Course Start Date First Monday of every month Course Fees $59,999 AUD (Including GST as applicable, supplementaries and all service fees) Course Perquisites In accordance with Civil Aviation Safety Regulations (CASR) Part 61, FIR candidates must hold Class 1 Aviation Medical, (see page 3 regarding acquiring aviation medical check) English Language Proficiency (see page 5 for full details) Have completed at least equivalent of Australian Year 10 of High School (the 4th year of Secondary College/High School) Be 18 years of age by course commencement Be willing to undergo an Australian Federal Police check for issue of your Aviation Security Identity Card Course Outcome Upon successful completion of the course, students will be issued with the following qualifications: Recreational Pilot Licence (RPL) Private Pilot Licence (PPL) Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) Certificate IV in Aviation 1

2 The following endorsement will also be achieved: Propeller Pitch Control Endorsement (CSU Endorsement) Privileges of Licence The Commercial Pilots Licence opens up a whole new world of opportunity, including flying charter, skydiving operations, fire bombing operations, crop dusting, customs operations, humanity, search and rescue to name but a few. Typically graduates expand their horizons by working towards either a Command Instrument Rating to fly aircraft solely on instruments, or a Flight Instructor Rating to share their passion and teach other potential pilots to fly. Should the student require additional training or have to re-sit any flight test, the additional cost will be charged at current published rates. Issue of Licences are not included and are payable directly to CASA. See page 5 for complete breakdown of costs. 1. Aviation medicals are completed in a two-step process: 1. Obtain an Aviation Reference Number from the Civil Aviation Safety Authority: Complete Form 1162 and send to CASA with identification as per page 2: Once you have received your ARN: 2. Book in for Class 1 Medical with a Designated Aviation Medical Examiner (DAME). Visit CASA website for contact list of CASA DAME s in your local country: 3

4 English Language Requirements For direct entry to Soar Advanced Flight Training you MUST meet the following requirements, with reference to the Department of Immigration Guidelines: a. If you are from an Assessment Level 3, 4 or 5 country, you MUST undertake either an IELTS test or a TOEFL test as part of the Student Visa application. You must score a minimum total of: i. IELTS (International English Language Testing System) minimum test score 5.5 (with no band score less than 5.0) Note: Test bands are listening, reading, writing & speaking ii. TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) Minimum Test Scores: TOEFL Paper based test: 530 TOEFL Internet based test: 71 TOEFL Computer based test: 197 b. If you are from an Assessment Level 1 or 2 Country, the following English Language requirements apply to you: i. The applicant has undertaken or completed his/her secondary education in an Australian or New Zealand educational institution*, or the equivalent of an Australian secondary education in a country where one of the principal mediums of instruction had been in English. *to be determined as a principal medium of instruction at least approximately 50% of the tuition must have been in English. OR The applicant is still receiving secondary education in Australia or New Zealand where the language of instruction at the school is English. ii. The applicant has spent at least three in the past five years of employment in Australia, New Zealand or a specified country (UK, USA, Republic of Ireland, Canada*), where the documented evidence may include a group certificate, a number of pay slips or a letter from your employer stating the period that you worked in that workplace OR iii. If you do not meet i or ii above you will be required to undertake ONE of the following tests and achieve one of the minimum test scores outlined below: a.
