5 Service Bulletin SUBJECT: Alternate Static Source on Cessna 182S, 182T, T182T, 206H, T206H equipped with Kelly Aerospace Air Conditioning per STC SA02006CH or SA03302CH. Introduction: This service bulletin is being issued to notify owner/operators of certain Cessna model aircraft modified with the installation of the Kelly Aerospace Air Conditioning of an altimeter error associated with use of the alternate static source. When the static pressure alternate source valve is pulled on, a change in static pressure supplying the static source instruments is introduced. The altimeter will react to this pressure change by indicating 30 to 100 feet lower than the aircraft s actual altitude. An Altitude Correction Card is being issued as part of this service bulletin, see Figure 1. Compliance: This service bulletin should be complied with upon receipt. A revised Approved Flight Manual Supplement will be released as the terminating action for this service bulletin. Effectivity: All Cessna 182S, 182T, T182T with STC SA02006CH air Conditioning, and all Cessna 206H, T206H with SA03302CH air conditioning installed. Procedure: Place Altitude correction card in POH for use when the alternate static source is required. Material Required: Altitude Correction Card. 6 ALTIMETER CORRECTION CONDITIONS: ALTERNATE STATIC SOURCE Power required for level flight or maximum power descent cruise configuration. Altimeter corrections for takeoff configuration are less than 50 feet. ALTERNATE STATIC SOURCE ERROR CORRECTION Alternate Static Source ON 60 KIAS 80 KIAS 100 KIAS 120 KIAS 140 KIAS +30 feet +40 feet +60 feet +85 feet +100 feet Add correction to indicated altitude to obtain actual altitude of the aircraft. Windows and ventilators closed, air conditioning off, cabin heater, cabin air, and defroster on maximum.
