To do that, we completely refigured our technical support structure. Now, Honeywell Technical Operations Center staff, Field Service Engineers (FSE,) and Product Service Engineers (PSE) work together as a cohesive Global Technical Operations unit. It's a fully staffed network of avionics and mechanical experts that makes sure you get immediate technical guidance and troubleshooting solutions to keep you flying This design brings you a tremendous depth of knowledge beyond what any single FSE could provide it gives you experience and expertise in every possible dispatch related area of concern. 16 Honeywell MyAerospace.com About this Guide This guide provides step-by-step instructions on the enhanced registration features and user interface available in the MyAerospace portal. Getting Your Honeywell ID Your Honeywell ID is the key to managing the various online tools available on the MyAerospace portal and other Honeywell websites. Access to the online tools is available to authorized customers and Honeywell employees, its subsidiaries and operating divisions, to conduct business with Honeywell. 1 To register go to At the sign in box, select [Register] to start the registration process. 2 A new window will pop-up, requiring you to enter your personal and contact information. Using a company address (john.doe@mycompany.com) will assist in accessing the correct account. 3 Enter the requested information and click the [Register] button

17 Getting Your Honeywell ID (cont.) 4 Read the Privacy Statement and select [I Agree] to continue or [I Do Not Agree] to cancel the process. 5 A message has been delivered to the address entered in your profile, select [Finish]. Check your inbox for a message from HoneywellIDAdministrator@honeywell.com Verify and Password 6 The link embedded in the message will direct you to a login screen. 7 Enter your password and select [Continue].

18 Setting up your MyAerospace Account. 8 If your password is correct, a "Welcome Aboard!" screen will appear. Select [Let's Get Started>] to continue. Associate to a Company Automatically If the address provided during the registration process matches an existing registered company, your account will be linked to the company. If your company is not listed, select [Add an additional company site] and continue steps in page 7 [Register your company] 9a Select all options that apply, and select [Continue >]. At this point your association is completed continue at page number 8 [Requesting Access for Online Tools]

19 Associate to a Company by providing additional information. If your address is not recognized by an existing registered company, you will be asked additional information to locate the correct account. 9b Select [Yes], if your company has conducted business with Honeywell or [No] to proceed to registering as a new company. In order to obtain your company information, you must provide an invoice number from a previous order placed with Honeywell. Locate the Sold-To Code and the Invoice Number. 9c Select [Yes] if you have this information. 9d Enter the Sold-To Code and Invoice Number, then select [Continue >] If the information is located, you will be presented with your company accounts, similar to the screen on page 5.

If the information is not located, you will be directed to a previous screen to select [Yes] to enter the data again, or select [No] for other options. Select [I need help...] to display a contact form. Enter detailed information about your case, and any other information to locate your company account, then select the [Submit>] button. Or select [Do not associate me...] to continue to step [Requesting Access to Online Tools] for limited guest access until you are associated to a company account. Registering your Company To register your company or continue as an individual user, select one of the following: If you select [Register Your Company], additional information such as purchasing information, billing and shipping address, trade type/dba, bank information, trade references, legal and financial information and tax documentation. Approval must be granted to users after required data has been entered. An notification will be delivered upon the completion of registration verification and approval.

21 Requesting Access to Online Tools Select the online tools you want to access. Tool availability varies for each user based on associated company or individual pre-established profile. 10 Select the [Request] button on the tools you want to access. 11 Select [Continue] to continue.

22 Entering Personal and Additional Information This section contains your personal information, some of the fields will auto-populate with information from your Honeywell ID profile. Create a Passphrase for additional security when authentication is required over the phone. 12 Enter your primary address. If more than one address is available based on your input during the registration process (page 5), choose one, then select [Continue >]. Additional information may be required depending on which tools you requested access for, some tools will require some extra information for you to work with them, or even to rely on the approval or denial of said access. Entering your Aircraft Information Depending on tool access selection, this information may be required For multiple aircraft, select [Add Aircraft] to enter additional aircraft information. Select [Finalize>] to complete the registration process.

23 Summary and Requests Status A summary of online tool requests and their status is displayed. Some auto-approved tools will be available for immediate use. Notifications will be distributed on tool requests requiring further action.

However, the warranty for parts replaced under the Engine warranty shall not extend beyond the date of e xpiration of the warranty for the given Engine. Definitions As used herein, the following words and phrases have the following meanings: 1. Honeywell means Honeywell through its Propulsion Engines business. 2. Owner means the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) or its equivalent registered owner of the aircraft in which the Engine is installed at time of w arranty claim, or the legal owner of the Garrett Engine. 3. Engine means a new TFE731 Engine delivered for commercial use. 4. Commercial Use means the operation of the Engines in aircraft licensed by FAA or its equivalent for general civilian and commercial use excluding aerial dusting and spraying and any other type of flying requir ing special authorization or dispensation by FAA or its equivalent. 5. Initial Operation means the first running of the Engine after obtaining a cer tificate of airworthiness on the aircraft. Initial Operation of a new spare Engine means the first r unning of the spare Engine after installation on the aircraft. 6. Engine Operating Hours means the total number of engine hours. 7. Failure or Malfunction in an Engine or par t means breakage or improper function. 8. Parts means only those parts of the Engine which are repaired or replaced b y Honeywell. Responsibility of Honeywell 1.If an engine or part is returned to Honeywell or an Authorized Service Center in accordance with the provisions of this warranty and is found by Honeywell in its sole discretion to contain a def ect in material or workmanship covered by this warrant ( Non-Conforming Item ), Honeywell shall at no cost to the Owner:

34 a. Repair or replace the Non-Conforming item; b. Provide or reimburse Authorized Service Centers for providing: (1) Trouble Shooting Labor, (2) Engine Access labor, and/or (3) Line Replaceable Unit and Engine Removal/Reinstallation Labor necessarily related to the Non-Conforming item. The foregoing labor shall be provided or reimbursed in accordance with Honeywell's then current Warranty Labor Allowance Schedule and Warranty Procedures, copies of which are available for inspection at Honeywell facilities and Authorized Service Centers. c. Waive Honeywell s normal engine rental charge under its standard Engine Rental Agreement while Unscheduled Heavy Maintenance (as defined in Honeywell service literature) covered under this warranty is accomplished; d. Assume commercially reasonable round trip common carrier freight charges for the Non- Conforming item from and to the nearest Hone ywell Authorized Service Center. Except as provided above, Honeywell shall have no further obligation under this warranty. 2. A part covered by the terms of this warranty shall be considered a Non-Conforming item when damaged as a result of the failure of a Non-Conforming item covered by the terms of this warranty. (Both of the parts mentioned in the preceeeding sentence m ust be within the warranty period applicable to such parts). 3. The correction of any failure or malfunction shall in no way extend the period of this warranty. 4. Any engine or part which is replaced shall become the proper ty of Honeywell. 5. Honeywell reserves the right to make changes in the design, and to add impro vements without incurring any obligation to incorporate the same on other engines or par ts sold by Honeywell. Responsibility Of Owner The following conditions govern the application of this warranty: 1. Owner shall assure that records are maintained which will accur ately reflect Engine operating hours and when maintenance was performed. At Honeywell s request, such record shall be provided to substantiate warranty claim. 2. This warranty will not apply if the Engine has been subjected to: a. Any maintenance, overhaul, installation, storage, operation, or use, which is not in accordance with Honeywell s instructions; or b. Any alteration or repair by anyone other than Honeywell or its authorized representatives which adversely affects the normal operation and performance of the Engine; or c. Any accident, misuse, neglect, or negligence after delivery by Honeywell; or d. Any tests other than nor mal production flight tests, unless Honeywell grants prior written approval; or e. Ingestion of foreign material; or f. Any other cause not within the control of Hone ywell. 3. Owner must submit a Honeywell warranty form within seven (7) days after discovery of the defect or failure, and return engine or part for repair or replacement within thir ty (30) days after notice.

Warranty claims will be honored for work accomplished at Honeywell Authorized Service Facilities or within the guidelines of the Honeywell warranty policy. Parts means components or Line Replaceable Units (LRU's) of the APU which may be repaired or replaced by Seller or its Authorized Facility. 5. APU Operating Hours" means the Total Since New (TSN) accumulated on the APU or its Parts, as recorded by the APU hourmeter. 6. Installation means the date the APU or Part is originally installed on the aircraft. 7. Failure", Malfunction", or Nonconformance in an APU or Part means breakage or improper function. 8. Normal Wear and Tear means the gradual and expected deterioration of an APU or Part, the need for regular overhaul and periodic maintenance and consumable hardware, and does not constitute a failure or malfunction under this warranty.

38 Warranty Coverage Seller warrants to the Owner that each APU sold for installation as original equipment on new aircraft and new spare APUs will, as set forth below, comply with applicable Seller drawings and specifications and be free from defects in material and workmanship. These warranties shall run to the original purchaser, its successors, assigns and customers when they are the Owner. Duration of Warranty ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT APUS Duration will be seventy two (72) months from the date of shipment from Seller, or sixty (60) months from the date of delivery of the aircraft to the Owner, or two thousand (2,000) APU operating hours, whichever first occurs. NEW SPARE APUS Duration will be sixty (60) months from the date of shipment to the Owner or two thousand (2,000) APU operating hours, whichever first occurs. Warranty claim determination will be based on the data supplied to Seller by the Owner, its successors and customers when they are the Owner, substantiated by inspection, testing, failure analysis, and information from Seller s representatives. Seller will have the sole right to determine whether the failure qualifies under the terms and conditions of this warranty. NEW SPARE PART WARRANTY Duration will be twelve (12) months from the date of shipment from Seller or six (6) months from date of installation of the new spare Part on the APU, whichever first occurs. Seller warrants to the Owner that each new spare part sold for installation on an APU will, at the time of installation, conform to the applicable Seller drawings and specifications, and be free from defects in material and workmanship. RESPONSIBILITY OF SELLER If an APU or Part is returned to Seller or a Honeywell Authorized Service Center and is found by Seller, in its sole discretion, to have failed as a result of a failure in material or workmanship covered by this warranty, Seller will at no cost to the Owner: 1. Repair or replace, at Seller s sole option, the failed APU or Part. Any APU or Part which is replaced or exchanged will become the property of Seller. 2. Assume round trip shipping costs for failed or nonconforming APUs or Parts within the continental United States; however if Seller s inspection discloses the returned APU or Part does not require repair or replacement under warranty, Seller's usual inspection charges will apply. 3. The correction of any failure or malfunction will in no way extend the period of this warranty. 4. Seller reserves the right to make changes in its products without incurring any obligation to incorporate the same on previously delivered APUs or Parts. RESPONSIBILITY OF OWNER The following conditions govern the application of this warranty: 1. All Owners must send in a Warranty Registration Card form within thirty (30) days of becoming an Owner. Warranty registration cards are in the Engine Log book or may be obtained from Seller by writing to: HONEYWELL P.O. Box 29003, Mailstop Phoenix, Arizona ATTENTION: WARRANTY DEPARTMENT 2. Owner will assure that records are maintained which will accurately reflect APU operating hours and when maintenance was performed. Scheduled routine maintenance and inspection, including, but not limited to: disassembly, assembly, cleaning, inspection, replacement of consumable hardware such as gaskets, filters, packings, igniter plugs, nuts, bolts, etc., minor repairs for cracks, nicks, dents, and all repair effort required as a result of Normal Wear and Tear are the responsibility of the Owner and are specifically excluded from this warranty. 5. Owner shall submit a warranty claim within the warranty period and the affected APU or Part must be returned to Seller, accompanied by an Honeywell Standard Claim form, within thirty (30) days after discovery of such defect or nonconformity. 6. APUs and LRUs returned without the required warranty data are subject to returned and/or repair charges.

39 EXCLUSIONS 1. The provisions of this warranty will not apply if the APU or Part has been subjected to: a. Any maintenance, repair, installation, storage, operation, use, handling or environmental condition which is improper or not in accordance with Seller manuals, Bulletins, or other written instructions; or b. Any alteration, modification or repair by anyone other than Seller or its authorized representatives which adversely affects the normal operation and performance of the APU; or c. Any accident, misuse, neglect, or negligence after delivery by Seller, or d. Ingestion of foreign material or foreign object damage; or e. Lack of incorporation of Service Bulletins related to the cause of failure. 2. This warranty will not apply to: a. Any APU or Part to the extent that the defect or nonconformity is attributable to a Part not supplied by Seller; or b. Malfunction or failure due to accident, nonconformance, or noncompliance with Seller s operating, scheduled maintenance or other pertinent instructions. AutoTilt weather radar system When pilots encounter bad weather, their attention is sometimes focused on other critical tasks. Honeywell s patented terrain-based AutoTilt keeps the radar functioning at its optimum and reduces pilot workload during some of the busiest times of flight. The EGPWS database supplies information about the elevation of terrain ahead of the aircraft (within the selected radar display range) and AutoTilt adjusts the antenna tilt angle automatically and continuously. This avoids situations where the radar antenna is aimed too high and misses significant weather ahead of the aircraft (as can happen when climbing) or is aimed too low, so ground clutter obscures the weather picture. OVER UNDER SCAN Without AutoTilt, a pilot may have to manually adjust the angle up to 40 times during climb to obtain the same accuracy. If the antenna is aimed too low, the display will show mainly ground. If it is aimed too high, significant weather will be overscanned and missed. OPTIMUM The AutoTilt function uses terrain elevation data to continuously and automatically adjust the tilt setting to ensure the antenna is aimed directly at the weather rather than the sky above or the ground below so pilots get an accurate picture of the weather ahead. RAAS makes planes as safe on the ground as they are in the air. In Sector Scan (SECT) mode, the scan rate increases to two seconds when faster updates are needed due to storm activity directly ahead on short range. THE PRIMUS 880 ADDITIONAL FEATURES INCLUDE: Ground Mapping Ground mapping (GMAP) is a navigation aid, and the Primus 880 has a mode specifically for depicting terrain features. Turbulence Detection Turbulence exposes pilots, passengers and aircraft to unnecessary risk that may be present in any level of precipitation even those with weak radar returns that may appear safe to fly through. The Primus 880 radar uses advanced Doppler pulse pair processing techniques to detect spectrum spreading caused by turbulence within any storm cell regardless of rainfall rates. Unstable approaches are a key safety concern that can result in hard landing or excursion incidents or accidents. With about 29 global runway excursions for commercial aircraft and numerous more for business aviation aircraft each year, errant aircraft approaches are primarily caused by human error. Although most of these runway incidents are not fatal, the estimated annual economic impact is in excess of to $900 million. 81 Honeywell s Runway Awareness and Advisory System (RAAS) is a valuable safety solution that improves pilot situational awareness, minimizing the risk of runway incursions and reducing operational costs. A safe flight begins before you ever leave the ground. A leading cause of aviation fatalities, runway incursions account for approximately $1 billion annually in aircraft damages. To help prevent such losses, close calls and collisions, the industry requested a safety system that helps maintain situational awareness during taxiing and preparing for takeoff and landing. Because the loss of positional awareness is a causal factor in a majority of runway incursions, Honeywell has developed an easy-to-install heads-up advisory system to help the crew maintain awareness during ground and air operations relative to the runway. 4% - AIRCRAFT LANDED AT WRONG AIRPORT 10% - AIRCRAFT LANDED ON WRONG RUNWAY As the only safety system of its kind, RAAS is an optional software upgrade for business aircraft fitted with Honeywell Mark V and VII Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System (EGPWS) units. The extensive database helps to keep pilots informed, especially in highly congested or unfamiliar airports with complex operating environments. When warranted, RAAS will use voice advisories to make pilots aware of vital runway information, allowing them to avoid a wide range of potential groundbased incursions. The logic algorithms then determine the appropriate advisory sequence and timing, adjusting advisory distances based upon aircraft groundspeed to maximize and enhance crew reaction time. Aircraft Advisories The system offers five routine voice advisories with an additional five non-routine call-outs for special circumstances. The limited number of advisories reduces cockpit chatter and permits the pilot to quickly react to specific situations without needing to monitor additional screens or flight deck hardware. Crews evaluate and select the advisories and audio levels appropriate to their operation. All advisories are delivered over the aircraft s audio system (speakers or headphones) in the operator s preference of a male or female voice announced in either feet or meters. Additionally, an optional RAAS inhibit switch is available to silence advisory messages during operation. 85 Analyzing weather... and noting a striking difference While most pilots would say that rain doesn't offer the best of flying conditions, most would agree that, by itself, it isn't necessarily enough to ground or divert a flight. What pilots need to avoid is rain containing lightning and its associated turbulence or, more importantly, areas of building thunderstorms that often have no precipitation but damaging lightning activity. Honeywell's LSZ-860 Lightning Sensor System (LSS) provides the tool to help identify areas of potentially destructive lightning. Because some of the heaviest turbulence occurs during the growth stage of a thunderstorm, before precipitation returns intensify, the LSZ-860 is the ideal complement to a weather radar. The system is designed to detect electrical discharge activity that the radar can not see. It then maps the lightning activity onto the weather radar display so the pilot can safely navigate the skies. Radar redundancy equals safety With safety being a primary objective in all Honeywell product designs, we are accustomed to designing cockpit systems with redundancy in mind. If a navigation system fails, there is back-up. If a comm fails, the pilot can revert to the other side. But what do you do if your radar fails? Honeywell s Lightning Sensor System can provide the desired backup. If there is lightning, there is the potential for destructive turbulence, hail and rain. By using the information gathered by the LSS you can safely avoid severe weather. Building thunderstorms Weather radars work by reflecting RF signals off precipitation in the clouds. When thunderstorms are beginning to build they can generate destructive turbulence and electrical activity prior to having sufficient water in them for the radar to detect. What looks like a safe flight path on radar may in fact contain significant lightning activity. The Honeywell LSS detects lightning activity out to 200 nautical miles and displays associated lightning strikes relative to their range and bearing. Cloud-to-cloud With weather radar you often see what appears to be a clear, inviting flight path between weather cells. What you don't see is the electrical activity that may be occurring between the cells. Seeing behind heavy rains Honeywell's LSS enhances the range of the weather radar by displaying electrical activity in areas where the radar signal has fully attenuated and can no longer penetrate. Weather detection symbols Lightning Alert Low rate Medium rate High rate For increased pilot awareness, all lightning signals received are displayed with a magenta lightning alert symbol. This is displayed for 5 seconds on the outside range ring at the correct bearing. Up to 50 strikes can be processed on the display. Heading and velocity stabilized. 91 TECHNICAL NEWSLETTER Introduction A PC is required to load software into Primus Epic modules when modules are changed or when populated MAUs are being installed for the first time. The intent of this document is to help you set up your PC so it is able to load software on the aircraft or off the aircraft using a loading bench. Should you have any problem, please contact Connie or Jack Equipment: 1.) Ethernet network PCMCIA card and associated dongle which must be fitted with a coaxial port 2.) 1 RG-58 Co-axial cable 3.) 1 T connector 4.) 1 Co-axial 50 ohm resistor NOTE: If you want to use your laptop or PCMCIA card RJ-45 port, a Netgear 4 port HUB can also be used (Model EN 104) to convert co-axial to RJ-45). 1) First install the PCMCIA card you will be using to interface with Primus Epic in to the PCMCIA card slot in your laptop. Please note that if you remove this card after configuring it, you may have to re-configure the connection. 2) Your PC will need to interface the aircraft LAN, which is a tri-axial. The LAN is terminated by 2 triax 50 ohm resistors. NOTE: NOTE: A Netgear 4 port HUB (Model EN 104) may also be used. If you choose to use this hardware, your PC will need an Ethernet network card and associated dongle. You will need a special cable to adapt the airplane tri-axial to standard 10Base2 coaxial, this cable is only required to access the LAN from the connection in the rear of the aircraft. 3) To connect the PC to the LAN, you have to connect the A/C LAN tri-axial cable in the "MAINTENANCE OPERATION" position (on the maintenance panel), as described on the placard located on the maintenance panel door. 93 TECHNICAL NEWSLETTER To locate the LAN connection you will be using for connection to Primus Epic (Local Area Connection XX), double-click on the connection and verify the hardware being used (Ethernet Card). If it matches the hardware you have installed, than you have found the right connection. You may want to rename the connection as Primus Epic, or as in the example below EASy which is the Primus Epic platform configured within Dassault aircraft. This will make it easier to find in the future. Locate the connection corresponding to the network you ll use for the connection to Primus Epic then right-click with the mouse and select Properties for that connection. In the Properties window, if you have a VPN Client Protocol checked, make sure you deselect it. If communication is not established, the system may respond with Request Timed Out. Open the circuit breakers and tag them according to your Aircraft Maintenance Manual. The module is sensitive to electro-static discharge. Wear an approved ESD wrist strap and connect the cord to the ground jack on the cabinet.! Loosen the captive screw on the backshell.! Tilt the backshell away from the module and disengage the curved alignment pin. Disengage the backshell hook and remove the backshell.! Loosen the module jack screws a few threads at a time in an alternating fashion. You may have to remove adjacent backshells to get access to the module. The jack screws unseat the module and draw it from the cabinet. Loosen each screw only a few threads at a time so that the module extracts evenly. Uneven extraction may damage the module or the cabinet.! Grasp both jack screws firmly and pull the module from the cabinet. Hold the module only by the jack screws or the faceplate frame. Note the direction of the reference arrow on the module (up or down). The replacement module must be inserted in the orientation specified in the Aircraft Maintenance Manual. If the orientation is reversed, the module will not function.! Grasp the module firmly by the jack screws and gently guide it into the cabinet slot. NOTE: Make sure that the module edge is correctly aligned with the upper and lower slot guides. The module and cabinet will be damaged if you tighten the screws on a misaligned card.! Tighten the jack screws a few threads at a time in an alternating fashion. Consult your Aircraft Maintenance Manual for torque requirements.
