10 JAMES SAUNDERS, TOUR DIRECTOR (SOUTH AMERICA) Tarek Sabet, Tour Director (North America) Tarek is conversant is English, Spanish, Arabic, and French. He holds a degree for teaching English as a second language from the University of Cambridge, a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from the University of Salamanca in Spain, and a diploma in Travel & Tourism. He has over 30 years experience in the travel industry and has been a Tour Director with the Canadian vacations since In his free time, he enjoys stamp collecting, chess, reading, opera, classical music, and he teaches at a private college in Vancouver every winter. James Saunders, Tour Director (South America) Originally from Balham in London, James worked at a hotel in Germany and as a Local Guide in northern Italy before becoming a Tour Director. He has conducted tours all over Europe, Africa, Asia Minor, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, Russia, and Canada. James passion though is South America. He has toured there for nearly 20 years and has also traveled for his own vacations. There is so much to see and such a diversity in this continent. 11 TASTE the LOCAL FLAVORS MEALS IN EUROPE AND SOUTH & CENTRAL AMERICA You ve probably heard stories about high food prices when you travel on vacation, and some are certainly true. The Cosmos budget formula also works here to your advantage. We take care of a large portion of your meals, yet leave you enough free time to sample the region s gastronomic delights on your own. A full cooked buffet breakfast is provided daily in Britain, Ireland, and in South & Central America. On the European continent, buffet breakfast is included daily and consists of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate, orange juice, cold and hot milk, cereals, yogurt, two types of bread, croissants, jam, butter, and cold cuts (cheese, ham, salami). This may differ from region to region. For example, Scandinavia or Asia may have different options for breakfast. Most lunches are not included, but your Tour Director will prove invaluable in showing you where you can lunch inexpensively. He or she will point out small cafés and restaurants where the locals eat. Perhaps you ll want to sample local cheeses or sausages. Buy some fresh rolls, and wash it all down with inexpensive local wines and beers. Eating European style can be a lot of fun and a truly memorable experience. Some dinners are also included in Europe and South America. They are three-course meals and may feature soup or pasta, a main course with vegetables or salad, and dessert. Regional specialties are often offered. We don t include hotel dinners where they clash with show times or where dining out at local restaurants is a major attraction. We don t want you to have paid for a meal that you then skip to take advantage of the best a city has to offer. Your Tour Director knows the local scene and can guide you to restaurants, nightclubs, and other places of entertainment in an affordable price range. MEALS IN NORTH AMERICA Breakfast, though not included in your tour price, is usually easily available across North America, and a few of the hotels you will stay at may offer it on complimentary basis. As most of our hotels offer anything from coffee to a full breakfast, you can start the day the way you like best. All provided meals are clearly stated on the itinerary pages. When your itinerary includes a special event, such as a cruise on Prince William Sound, lunch will be included. Due to limited facilities at national parks, it is unlikely that we will be able to arrange special or even vegetarian meals. Dinnertime is your chance to sample local cuisine. Sometimes your Tour Director will offer an optional dinner outing or recommend a restaurant that serves a good choice of dishes at down-to-earth prices. Please note on Cosmos vacations: Special meals, such as vegetarian, can be requested, and we will do our best to accommodate the requests; however, we regret if your choice of meal is not available. While some hotels may be able to provide for a special diet, including vegetarian or salt-free food, there is no guarantee. Special food may cost extra. Please ask your Tour Director for assistance and he/she will do his/her best to accommodate your request. Since we try to show you the real destination, and cuisine forms an integral part of this experience, meals included on a Cosmos tour are never Asian/Indian. 12 COSMOS DELIVERS HOTELS YOU CAN COUNT ON Cosmos chooses hotels that are good value for money and that offer the best rooms, service, and food. While amenities may vary from region to region, we ensure that you get the best available in cleanliness and comfort everywhere. All our hotels have rooms with a private bath or shower and a toilet. The hotels are always located in good neighbourhoods, some more central while others may be located in pleasant residential areas or in the outskirts, especially in larger cities. This is to avoid less desirable or overpriced downtown hotels. In North America, rooms are generally air-conditioned, have color TV, and many even have swimming pools. Not all hotels in Europe are equipped with air-conditioning or tea and coffee-making facilities in the room. For extra nights, please look under Dates & Prices on the individual itinerary pages. These can be requested through your travel consultant and are subject to availability. THE REGENT WARSAW HOTEL, WARSAW, POLAND The Regent Warsaw Hotel is highly regarded among travelers for its extremely contemporary architecture and design. Our itinerary descriptions are detailed, and inside visits and special features are spelled out in UPPERCASE, so you know exactly what s included in the price. Hand-Selected Hotels Good accommodations are vital to your enjoyment on vacation. We pre-screen and select hotels that are mainly superior tourist-class (ST) and Tourist-class (T), but we also feature moderate first-class (MF) and some superior firstclass (SF) or moderate-deluxe (MD) hotels. In remote areas, there may be no hotels available in these categories, so we choose the best available (BA) hotels. In this brochure, you ll find national park and lodges and hotels followed by the abbreviation (NP). YOU ALWAYS KNOW WHAT YOU GET Each hotel is rated by our quality controllers following standards set by the independent Hotel & Travel Index and by state or provincial tourist boards. Hotels are listed on the itinerary pages, although it may be necessary to substitute with an alternate hotel of equivalent standard. Your travel documents list hotel addresses with telephones and fax numbers, plus you can find more details on our website. In North and South America, rooms generally are airconditioned, have colour TV, and many even have swimming pools. Not all hotels in Europe are equipped with airconditioning or tea-and coffee-making facilities in the room. Cosmos hotels are always located in good neighbourhoods, some more centrally and others in residential areas. Especially in large cities, we sometimes prefer good hotels in residential areas on the outskirts to less desirable or overpriced downtown hotels. Rooms at all our hotels include private bath or shower and a toilet. Triple rooms are usually no larger than twin or double rooms. The additional bed is often a roll-away bed put in for the night. Three separate beds cannot be guaranteed.

Joining Late & Leaving Early Many Cosmos land arrangements in Europe start and end in London. Many of our vacations exclude the London stay in this brochure, in case you wish to stay with friends or family before your tour leaves London. If you are joining the tour in London but are staying on your own, you will need to find your way to the designated London hotel on the day of departure. 26 AIRPORT TRANSFERS and EXTRA NIGHTS AIRPORT TRANSFERS For your convenience, we can arrange for your airport transfers to/from the hotel where your vacation commences/ ends. In London, you will be welcomed by our uniformed local hosts at the airport on arrival before taking your transfer. In Europe, on regular arrival and departure dates, transfers may be purchased for $25US per person, per way for specific timings. Please have your travel consultant contact us to check if your flights qualify for transfers. Transfers can also be provided when you purchase extra nights before or after the vacation. Transfers must be booked at least 2 weeks prior to the departure of your tour. Transfers cannot be added when you join late or leave early. PERSONALIZE YOUR COSMOS VACATION WITH EXTRA NIGHTS We will make reservations for you at the rates quoted below, provided you request them at the time you book your trip. Extra nights are available only immediately prior to or after your vacation and not on extensions. Extra pre-tour nights in London are not available if you join your tour later than Day 2. Trip Protection is a unique protection offered by the Globus family of brands to help cover against the cancellation charges of the tour cost if you have to forgo your vacation due to unforeseen reasons and situations. It provides coverage only on Globus family of brands vacations, in case you have to join late*, cancel*, or leave early* due to covered reasons. So, buying Trip Protection is a lot like buying peace of mind. BUYING TRIP PROTECTION IS A LOT LIKE BUYING PEACE OF MIND. The true value of your vacation is in the accurate, detailed vacation description on the website and in the brochures, which is unusually specific about accommodation, touring in deluxe motorcoaches, sightseeing, and included meals. The agenda for each day is spelled out with exactly what is included in the price. Sightseeing with Local Guides is clearly listed. Inside visits are shown as UPPERCASE in the tour description, including admission charges, where applicable. Are prices published in the brochure/on the website guaranteed? Vacation prices are per person, based on double occupancy, and do not include airfare, except as noted on the itinerary pages. These costs are as per rates and taxes (including all-important foreign exchange rates) known at the time of costing. Single room supplements and triple room reductions are listed where applicable; not all accommodation types are available on all vacations. We encourage full deposit early to secure your space and to protect the price of your vacation. Prices are subject to increase without notice, subject to the guarantees set forth below. Once Cosmos has received your full non-refundable deposit, your vacation price is guaranteed and you are protected against any base land price increase due to currency surcharge. Why is it important that I give my name as it appears on my passport at the time of booking? Due to increased travel security around the world, it is now more important than ever that your bookings with airlines, hotels, cruise liners, etc., match your first and last name exactly as it reads on your passport. We do not allow a change in names of passengers at any time after the booking is made. Does Cosmos provide visa assistance? All travellers are required to check the current visa and entry/exit requirements with local consulates before their travel, and the responsibility for obtaining visas rests with the travellers. Please ensure all your documents are in order when applying for the visas, as per the checklist provided by the consulates. Due to constant changes in the consulates document requirements, Cosmos is unable to offer visa assistances nor does it take any responsibility for obtaining or notifying travellers about visas required for any vacation. Full cancellation, as applicable, is payable for guaranteed tours if visa is denied by consulates. We recommended that you apply for visas well in advance and get them in order before guaranteeing. Please consider TRIP PROTECTION to help protect yourself against cancellation penalties arising out of visa rejection or delay (subject to conditions; please see website for details). Please note that certain tours or cruises may need more than one visa, such as Schengen and UK Visas or U.S. and Canada visas. When will I receive my travel documents? Travel documents for Cosmos, including any air tickets (if applicable), itineraries, and other information, are sent approximately two to three weeks prior to departure, provided full payment has been received. In case any revisions are made after the documents are generated, please be sure to request the updated documents with your travel consultant. A service charge per reservation may be added for documents requested in advance. Please have your travel agent check with us for detailed inclusions. What is the policy if I have to cancel? How can I protect myself against cancellation? The cancellation policy differs based on the tour and the time of cancellation. Guidelines of our cancellation policy are available in the Terms & Conditions section, as well as on the website and from your travel consultant. You can protect yourself against your Cosmos tour s cancellation charges by purchasing Trip Protection, in case you are cancelling due to a covered reason. Does Cosmos offer a Travel Protection/Insurance plan for purchase? Is a plan included in the vacation price? In certain countries and regions, Cosmos offers Trip Protection/Insurance that protects against trip cancellation, delay, and interruption. This is not comprehensive travel protection and only provides coverage on Cosmos and other Globus family of brands trips, in case you have to cancel or leave early due to covered reasons. If covered with Trip Protection, which is optional for you to purchase, you will receive a travel credit that is good for a period of 12 months and enables you to take another vacation with us, rather than losing your funds against cancellation. It is optional for you to purchase and is not included in the standard vacation price. It cannot be added after the tour is guaranteed for payment. We are unable to waive cancellation charges for any reason due to our commitments to suppliers. Are arrival and departure transfers arranged for all vacations? Airport transfers may be purchased on all land-only reservations, provided the arrival and departure timings are within the scheduled airport transfer times, as specified for the particular vacation. The timings can be checked by your travel agent. Transfers are not available for nonbrochure dates, but can be arranged if purchased with pre/ post nights. Transfers cannot be provided if joining late or leaving early. Flight information is MANDATORY for booking the transfers. Transfers will be provided only if confirmed by the Globus family of brands. What is the difference between a twin-bedded room and a double-bedded room? A double room is a room designed to accommodate two people, though not necessarily with two separate beds. A twin-bedded room has two separate beds of any size. We usually reserve twin-bedded rooms for our travelers. All requests for double-bedded room are subject to availability at the time of check-in.

31 What size is a triple room? A triple room is the same size as a twin or double room. It will have beds to accommodate three people; however, we cannot guarantee that there will be three separate beds. If there are only two beds, a rollaway bed may be requested but also cannot be guaranteed. How hectic is my vacation going to be? The Globus family of brands offers over 480 vacations and while some are very leisurely paced, others are more of a medium pace. Typically, Panorama vacations covering more countries/cities in a short duration make a vacation quick paced; Regional Discoveries are at a medium to leisurely pace. Every vacation has a pace meter on the brochure indicating its pace. How long will we be on the road each day? How often does the motorcoach stop en route? Driving time varies for each vacation. It depends on the itinerary, and the driving distance is mentioned in the travel documents, if available. When driving between cities, the motorcoach stops after every hours at places where you can pick up a snack/meal and use restrooms. Most vacations do not include drives from one city to another every day. How early will I have to wake up on the vacations? The wake-up call differs based on the type of vacation, the season when you are travelling, the city that you are in, and even the weather. Wake-up times are not the same each day, and the Tour Director will advise you of these once the tour begins. Early starts offer the advantage of reaching sightseeing spots before the rush, leaving you free the rest of the day to enjoy the destination and to do as you please. It is imperative that all participants maintain punctuality to ensure that no compromises are made on the inclusions. What meals are included in my vacation? Can I request Indian/vegetarian/special cuisine while on tour? The exact number of meals included on your tour is clearly specified on the itinerary and is different for each vacation. Breakfast is included daily on most vacations, with the exception of North America, where breakfast is not included in the tour price, but some included hotels may offer complimentary breakfast. Our vacations strive to introduce you to authentic flavors, so you can enjoy the destination in a deeper way. Therefore, included meals are usually local or continental and are never Indian or other specialty Asian cuisine. Please request vegetarian meals at the time of booking, and also with the Tour Director when on tour; this can usually be accommodated when requested in advance, but cannot be guaranteed. In certain countries and regions, such as North America s national parks, it may be difficult to find Indian or vegetarian meals. When meals are not included, you may choose an Indian restaurant in the city you are touring. Please see website for details on Indian restaurants in Europe, North America, and South America. When can I purchase optional excursions? You can learn about the activities and excursions available on your Cosmos vacation by visiting Cosmos.com/MyCOSMOS. These are designed to enhance your experience, and are scheduled perfectly within your itinerary. A complete listing will also be available on the website and your travel documents. You may choose to purchase these activities and excursions starting 90 days from the start date, up to and including four days prior to the tour start date. Some may be available to purchase only from your Tour Director while on vacation. If the pre-booked optional excursion does not operate due to some reason, the money will be refunded the same way the payment was received. What size can my suitcase be? Due to limited motorcoach capacity, your bag should have dimensions not exceeding 30"x 21"x11" and weight not exceeding 22 kg. Carry-on luggage should not exceed the dimensions of 12"x11"x 6". We regret that we are unable to accept a second suitcase or any luggage exceeding these limits. Trolley bags are not allowed on the motorcoach. Please note that air carriers, cruise lines, and other forms of transportation may have other restrictions and requirements, including weight, and we recommend that you contact the suppliers directly for additional information. We use mobile phone or contact information for emergency purposes in time-sensitive situations so that should the need arise, we can quickly get in touch.
