The clean-sheet design of the Legacy 450 makes it possible for Embraer to engineer the first fly-by-wire control system ever in a midlight jet. The fly-by-wire technology allows the replacement of conventional flight controls with instant, yet fluid response to pilot commands. For the flight crew, the advantages are effortless flying, greater control and reduced workload when they need it most. For passengers, fly-by-wire technology will help smooth out turbulence before they know it s there. It will even help the Legacy 450 land at short-field airports that other jets will have to pass by.
