1 +44 (0) A combination of a safari on the plains of the Maasai Mara followed by some time relaxing on a deserted Indian Ocean beach is an iconic Kenyan experience and one not to be missed. This trip takes you from the game-rich Ol Kinyei Conservancy in the Maasai Mara up to the golden sands of Lamu Island where you will be able to enjoy the stunning views out to sea. The first night of the trip will be spent in the Nairobi National Park which is found close to Nairobi Airport. From there you will proceed by road down to the Maasai Mara where a wonderful safari adventure awaits you. The area is very well known for good sightings of lion, leopard and elephant, whilst the herds of the Great Migration congregate on the banks of the Mara River not far to the South. From the Mara you will head back up to Nairobi for a light aircraft flight North to the beautifully isolated Lamu Archipelago where you will be able to relax, snorkel in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean and enjoy a variety of watersports. The food, especially the seafood, is very good here and it makes for a great spot to unwind after a busy few days on safari. 3 ITINERARY DAY 1: NAIROBI Arrive into Nairobi today for a private transfer to the nearby Nairobi National Park for an overnight stay. The evening will be a chance for you to enjoy a game drive through the reserve before returning to the camp for dinner and some time to relax. (D) DAY 2: NAIROBI - MAASAI MARA CONSERVANCIES After breakfast gazing out across the Nairobi National Park you will be collected for a road transfer down to the Ol Kinyei Conservancy of the Maasai Mara. Arriving late in the morning you will be able to relax before lunch, an afternoon game drive and then an evening enjoying dinner and drinks around a roaring campfire. (B, L, D) DAY 3: MAASAI MARA CONSERVANCIES One of the main attractions of staying in the conservancies to the North of the main Maasai Mara National Reserve is that they are privately run meaning guests can enjoy night time game drives, off-road drives and guided walks with today the ideal day to enjoy these. In between activities you can relax around the camp and enjoy the warm hospitality for which it is renowned. (B, L, D) DAY 4: MAASAI MARA CONSERVANCIES Of course, no visit to the Maasai Mara would be complete without seeing the herds of the Great Migration and today will be a chance to do just that. You will head out early with your guide and explore the main part of the reserve, searching for the herds with the possibility of seeing one of their iconic river crossings always on the agenda. (B, L, D) DAY 5: MAASAI MARA CONSERVANCIES - LAMU ARCHIPELAGO After an early breakfast you will be collected from the lodge and transferred back to Nairobi where you will be dropped at the domestic Wilson Airport for an early afternoon flight North to Lamu Island. There you will be met for the short boat transfer to your beautifully located hotel where you will be spending the remainder of your trip. (B, L, D) DAY 6: LAMU ARCHIPELAGO Your first full day on Lamu will be a chance for you to sit back, relax and enjoy the idyllic location that your hotel affords you. Of course there are a variety of watersports that you can try your hand at here, be it snorkelling, windsurfing or even scuba diving, there is something for everyone on offer here. (B,L, D)

4 DAY 7: LAMU ARCHIPELAGO Another day in paradise awaits you today. However, the area does have plenty to offer for those looking to get out and explore, with Lamu Old Town being an especially popular place to spend a morning or an afternoon exploring its narrow alleyways, interesting craft shops and chatting with the residents for whom life has changed little for many decades. (B, L, D) DAY 8: LAMU ARCHIPELAGO Today will be a chance for you to relax and enjoy the wonderful surroundings of the hotel. The food, especially the seafood, is superb and meals are served in a variety of inspiring locations around the hotel. In fact, the discrete personal service means you barely have to lift a finger during a stay here as the staff are on hand to cater for your every whim. (B, L, D) DAY 9: LAMU ARCHIPELAGO Your final day in Lamu can be spent catching a last day of sunshine or out on the water perfecting the skills you have been learning over the week. Of course, relaxation will be a large part of your day and whether you are enjoying the fabulous pool area or out on the beach you will be able to take in the stunning views and revel in the peaceful location that the hotel affords. (B, L, D) DAY 10: LAMU ARCHIPELAGO - NAIROBI After a morning at leisure you will be collected for the boat trip back to Lamu Island and onward flight to Nairobi Wilson. NAIROBI NAIROBI TENTED CAMP Found in one of Kenya s most surprising wildlife havens, the Nairobi National Park, Nairobi Tented Camp offers a wonderful introduction to the safari adventures that await visitors to Kenya for its enviable location within 20 minutes of both the international and domestic airports. There are just nine traditionally styled safari tents at the camp, all of which have en-suite bathrooms with flush loos and bucket showers where hot water is provided on request. Inside the tents are very spacious and comfortable with proper beds, writing desks and plenty of storage space. Outside there are covered verandas where guests can relax in the afternoons and enjoy the views out across the park. The main mess area of the lodge is another great place to relax with lots of deep, comfortable sofas, plenty of books to borrow and staff on hand to serve drinks. The food here is very good and meals are served in a variety of inspiring locations around the site of the camp, with dinner under the stars an especially popular option with guests. Whilst many guests simply use the camp as a convenient overnight stop between awkwardly timed flights, they do offer a range of activities for those staying a little longer including game drives, sundowner drinks stops as well as visits to the elephant orphanage and giraffe centre.
