2 United Nations Environment- Nairobi Convention Secretariat in collaboration with Western Indian Ocean Marine Science Association (WIOMSA) welcomes you to, Seychelles to participate in the above meetings, at the Avani Seychelles Barbarons Resort and Spa in Victoria-, Seychelles. Venue for the meetings; The meeting will take place at the Avani Seychelles Barbarons Resort and Spa in Victoria,, Seychelles. AVANI Seychelles Barbarons Resort & Spa PO BOX 626 Victoria, Seychelles T E scamille@avanihotels.com avanihotels.com Accommodation Participants are kindly requested to make their own hotel reservation in any of the hotels/villas/apartments near the venue of the meeting. Visa Arrangements Participants who require visas to Seychelles, are kindly requested to make their own arrangements for issuance of entry visa. All delegates are advised to carry their invitation letters, a yellow fever vaccination certificate and the accommodation details for the purposes of visa application. Transport from Hotel to Meeting Venue Participants will be provided for transport to and from the hotel. We request that all accommodation be forwarded to our logistics contact persons below to enable facilitation of transport. Daily Subsistence Allowance (DSA) United Nations Environment sponsored participants will be paid their daily subsistence allowance (DSA) in. The sponsored participants are kindly requested to bring their boarding passes in order to collect their DSA. The current UN DSA rate for Seychelles is USD. 302 per night.

3 Any participants that are unable to stay for the duration of the meeting are requested to inform the secretariat as soon as possible, so that the daily subsistence allowance can be adjusted accordingly. Languages: Official Languages in Seychelles are Creole, English and French. The meetings will be conducted in English and French (Apart from the Marine Spatial Training that will be conducted in English only). Weather and Tme Zone In the month of November, has average temperature of 30 C daily highs and lows of 24 C. Seychelles is GMT/UTC +4 hours Standard time Health Requirements:- Insurance You are advised to arrange at your own travel expense insurance against sickness, accident, third party risk for the period of the meeting. United Nations Environment will not assume responsibility for any other expenditure, including the following: Cost incurred by the participants in respect of travel insurance, accident insurance, medical bills or hospitalization fees in connection with attending the meeting; Any loss or damage to personal property of participants while attending the meeting or losses or damages claimed by third parties as a result of any negligence on the part of the participants. Compensation in the event of death or disability of participants in connection with attending the meeting; and Electricity Supply The standard voltage is 240 V, while the standard frequency is 50 Hz. The power sockets that are used are of type G. Below you find picture sample of the power sockets and corresponding plug. If your appliances have a different shape, you may need a universal travel adapter.
