2 Welcome Welcome to the current Tarpaflex brochure which has comprehensive details on the widest range of ready made tarpaulins available in the UK. We are an established importer of tarpaulins and over the last 25 years we have built up an unrivalled choice of 16 different tarpaulin specifications in materials such as polyethylene (PE), PVC and cotton canvas. But we don t stop there, we also offer an impressive array of dust sheets, debris and shade netting, polypropylene rope, storage shelters and bungee/shock cord. To complement these products don t forget to check out our accessories such as repair tape, eyelets, sand bags & one tonne builders bags. Our large stock holding caters for all our customers needs from single parcels to pallet and container loads. We are determined to provide competitive prices and strive to offer the high levels of service you expect from a family owned buisness. 3 General Information Delivery We can arrange to deliver goods to you, alternatively you can collect from our warehouse in Devon. We currently use reputable carriers via a nationwide network. Our parcel traffic is carried by DPD,UK Mail and DX while larger orders are sent on a nationwide pallet network, and some of our very light items are sent by Royal Mail. Please refer to your current price list for minimum order values for free delivery. All free deliveries, please allow 3-5 working days for delivery. Premium next day, Saturday and timed deliveries are available, please refer to our current delivery price list for available services and prices. For cut off times please see below. Due to surcharges incurred by our carriers, extra delivery charges may apply to all offshore islands, Northern Ireland and the Highlands of Scotland (deliveries may take longer to remote areas). Please enquire for current charges. All our carriers require a signature on delivery and it is the recipient s responsibility to only sign for the number of parcels or pallets received. Goods should be inspected on receipt and notification must be given within 48 hours of any shortage or defect. If nobody is in at the time of delivery then the goods will not be left without prior consent. Delivery instructions will be passed on, but any goods requested to be left without a signature are the customer s sole responsibility. General delivery times are 8.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday. However some couriers do operate outside of these times, especially during busy periods like Christmas. Parcels sent with DPD, UK Mail and DX will have a text and/or sent to pre-advise of expected delivery day. If our carriers cannot successfully deliver the goods to you, then a card will be left. If after 1 further unsuccessful attempt they still cannot deliver, the goods may then be returned to us and a return charge may be levied. Requests for re-delivery or to an address different to that previously advised, will be charged full delivery rates. Any special delivery requirements or restrictions must be advised at the time of ordering. We do not despatch over weekends or over Bank Holidays. Any time or date named by Tarpaflex for delivery is given and intended as an estimate only and offered in good faith. As we use 3rd party carriers Tarpaflex shall not be held liable for any delays or non delivery of the products ordered. Although over 99% of deliveries arrive on time, we recommend no work is undertaken until the materials arrive. We also deliver to Europe please contact us for further information and rates. Cut Off Time Our cut off time for next day deliveries is 4pm for despatch via our parcel couriers. For pallet deliveries required on a next day service the cut off time is 2pm. Our standard delivery service is 3-5 working days from receipt of order. Any standard orders received after 4pm will be considered as being received the following working day. For example an order received after 4pm on Friday afternoon will be considered as a Monday order. If we can despatch sooner we will do so. For next day orders after our cut off time please call our sales team who will do their best to accommodate you. Warranty Info All of our products are guaranteed to be free from defect at the time of purchase. We do not warrant beyond first use due to the many and varied applications our products can be put to. Should you receive any faulty goods, we must be advised upon receipt of the order and no later than 14 days after delivery. We will request an photograph of the defect. Should your order be deemed to be a genuine manufacturing fault, we will arrange for a replacement to be sent to you. One of our sales team will notify you if the item needs to be returned; this will be arranged by us, at our expense. This warranty is only applicable to new, unused products in their original packaging. It does not cover products that have been used and have been damaged due to improper installation, wear & tear, and any damage caused by strong winds, storms, hurricanes, snow, fire or any further act of nature. We strongly advise proper installation of your purchase. We will not accept responsibility for pulled eyelets as a result of product wear and tear. We hope you are completely satisfied with your purchase. However, if you are not satisfied or change your mind, you may return the item within 14 calendar days from the date of order for a refund of the purchase price. The return freight is the responsibility of the customer. For trade customers a 20% restocking fee may be levied. All returned goods must be received in a new and unused condition together with any relevant paperwork. We expect the returned items to be in their original poly bag and not subject to scratches, blemishes or trace of usage. Providing your return meets the above criteria a refund or exchange will be organised. We currently offer a limited 1 year warranty on our range of shelters from date of purchase. Normal wear and tear is not covered by the warranty, please see our website for further details. UV Warranty We offer a limited warranty against UV on a number of our heavy weight tarpaulins, whereby those products are warranted to be UV stable in UK conditions for a specified period from date of purchase. The warranty guarantees that the product will not fail due to exposure to UV. If that product should fail before the specified time our sole remedy will be to replace the product, we will not have other or greater liability for defects in the product, nor will Tarpaflex have any liability for incidental, special or consequential damages of any kind. This warranty applies in relation to UV issues only. Full details can be found on our website. Our normal working hours are 8.45am to 6pm Monday to Friday. Colours Available Blue Green Key Features: Tarpaflex offers a comprehensive selection of standard grade tarpaulins which are waterproof and have aluminium eyelets at 1 metre intervals in rope reinforced hems. Recommended as a temporary waterproof cover with hundreds of different applications each tarpaulin is lightweight, easy to handle, rotproof, shrinkproof, UV protected for longer life and flexible to minus 20 celcius. The main colours available are green or blue and selected sizes are available in white, all subject to availability. Each tarpaulin is flat packed in a poly bag with a descriptive colour insert with a bar code. For customers purchasing in bulk & requiring their own insert please speak to our sales team for more info minimum order quantities and lead times apply. It is recommended during inclement weather conditions that all tarpaulins are securely tied down to reduce wear and tear. Camo and Olive Green Key Features: Our Army Camouflage Tarpaulins have camouflage printing on one side of the tarpaulin and are olive green on the other. The camo tarps are made to the same specification as our range of economy tarpaulins and are widely used for outdoor pursuits including camping, hunting, fishing & paintballing. Also perfect for concealing items in a field or garden, our camo tarps blend seamlessly into the countryside. Key Features: In the ongoing quest to cater for as many customers and applications as possible, we have broadened our already extensive range of economy polyethylene sheets by introducing a and Blue 110gsm tarpaulin. The Standard 110gsm tarps are a step-up from our 80gsm base range, with a closer 10 x 10 weave count and corner patches on all 4 corners. Standard 110gsm PE Tarpaulin Construction These covers are lightweight and easy to handle as well as being great value for money. They are perfect for multiple applications, from temporary covering solutions to such uses as decorating and DIY, groundsheets, building site covers and garden tarps. The white tarps are also effective in situations where light penetration is required. Also included in the 110gsm range is the 1.8m x 100m roll which is popular for tarpaulin fabricators and packaging requirements. 7

Please be aware that plastic covers are not breathable therefore condensation can build up under the cover when hay and straw sweats. Green/Silver Key Features: The reversible green/silver range is what we deem to be a medium grade woven polyethylene tarpaulin with a weight of approximately 140gsm and a 12 x 10 mesh. Aluminium eyelets are at 1 metre intervals in rope reinforced hems. Approximately twice the weight of an economy tarpaulin they are widely used in agriculture, camping, home, garden and construction. These versatile waterproof tarps are UV protected and the small additional expense over an economy tarp will provide you with a heavier tarp which is more suited to prolonged usage. These tarps are more akin to the first polyethylene tarps introduced to the UK market over 40 years ago. Medium Weight 140gsm Tarpaulin Construction To maximise the lifespan of your cover additional eyelets are highly recommended and to strengthen any stress points try some tarp tape - please see accessories on page 29 & 30. 8

Green Clear Key Features: The Mono Cover is a medium grade 170gsm tarpaulin that is a popular step up in grade from an economy tarpaulin. Made from a 3 x 3 per square inch multifilament grid which is then laminated with low density polyethylene, the Mono Cover comes in a choice of green or clear. Mono Cover 170gsm Tarpaulin Construction The clear version is especially popular for projects where maximum light is required, as it allows approx 70% light transmission. As a result they are widely used in boat yards, on building sites and even as a waterproof cover for rabbit hutches, kennels and chicken coops. Strong yet still light enough to handle these hardy waterproof covers have eyelets at approximately 50cm intervals on all four edges and corner patches on all four corners. Super & Super Red 200gsm Tarpaulin Construction Used widely as a market stall cover, garden canopy, boat cover, industrial tarp, roofing cover, groundsheet for marquees and a host of other applications. These tarpaulins have an inbuilt UV inhibitor to ensure the material does not prematurely degrade due to the harmful effects of the sun. It is also flexible in sub zero conditions. 12

Colour Available Key Features: Our Flame Retardant Tarpaulins are manufactured to the Californian Standard CPAI 84 Section 6 and offer the discerning customer a strong, waterproof cover with a high standard flame retardancy. The flame retardant nature of this cover is intended to increase the length of time it takes for the material to catch light however the fabric will burn if left in continuous contact with any flame source. Flame Retardant 200gsm Tarpaulin Construction With health and safety laws becoming more stringent, the Flame Retardant Tarpaulins are especially suited to the building, construction and welding trade, but can also be useful for recreational and domestic use. They are a great upgrade to your market stall tarpaulin. Each tarpaulin is supplied with a flame retardancy declaration stitched to each tarpaulin. 13

Nonetheless these waterproof tarps remain easy to handle, and provide an economical alternative to canvas or PVC. Now supplied in finished sizes and with a limited 1 year UV warranty. Heavy Weight 250gsm PE Tarpaulin Construction The green / brown heavy weight tarpaulins have a tight 14x14 per square inch weave count, 3% UV inhibitor, corner patches and 12mm aluminium eyelets at 50cms intervals. With 11 sizes to choose from these covers are one of our most favoured product ranges which strike a great balance between cost and extra durability. A hardy tarpaulin which will blend in well with any outdoor setting, the colour scheme makes this range the ideal outdoor cover. This beefy range of heavy weight covers boasts a tight 16 x 16 weave count and an overall material weight of 270 gsm. Debris netting can also be used to create a barrier or partition sites during sports or recreational events. It is also extremely popular and widely used as a general netting in gardens, allotments and farms to place over plants, crops or vegetation to help protect produce. Our core range is manufactured to approximately 70gsm, all our netting has button hole eyelets along the edges and along the middle section to ease the fixing of the netting to scaffolding or other objects. To complement our core range, we have a lighter 50gsm netting, a heavier 100gsm netting and also a flame retardant white debris netting that is manufactured to the US National Fire Protection standard NFPA701. Scaffold Sheeting Tarpaflex clear scaffold sheeting provides weather protection on scaffold systems. Made from strong waterproof UV stabilised polyethylene it will help protect workers from wind, rain and the elements. It also helps contain debris and waste, which in turn improves the general working environment. The clear sheeting allows approx 70% light transmission and has 3 bands of reinforced polyethylene webbing with approx 15mm diameter outline holes to aid the fixing of the sheeting to scaffolding. Simply pierce the webbing with toggle ties/shock cords and attach to scaffold poles. Under normal weather conditions it is generally recommended to fix 100 ties per 45 metre roll. The sheeting can be installed horizontally or vertically. When joining 2 rolls together, overlap the ends of both rolls and push ties through both sheets. Regular inspections should be made to make sure the sheeting is securely fastened. 23

Each bag has a tie string attached at the mouth of the bag and comes unfilled. Once filled with sand each bag can comfortably hold 15kg, it is recommended not to overfill your sand bag, usually filling half to two-thirds is sufficient in order to mould the bag to a doorway or stack on top of other sand bags. The use of a Tarpaflex tarpaulin is suggested to waterproof and seal your sand bag barrier. Simply lay a tarpaulin on the ground before building your barrier and then wrap the cover around the sandbags and over the top, with further sand bags weighing down the sheet. Although this method does not guarantee a water tight seal it can further assist with flood prevention. Polypropylene and standard jute hessian is suggested for short term use with jute being fully biodegradable as it s a natural plant product. Hessian is a term given to a woven fabric made from jute, it is a natural vegetable fibre which is coarse and durable. Importantly jute is environmentally friendly as it biodegradable and recyclable and its production has a very low reliance on pesticides and fertilisers. Jute has a high tensile strength and is a breathable material. As a result, rolls of jute hessian are popular as a frost protection cover over mortar and brickwork during the winter months, it is also popular for use with lime mortar, where protection against the elements is necessary to allow carbonation to take place. In the summer jute is wetted to prevent rapid moisture loss from cement or concrete when it is setting. Shock cord ties The elasticated shock cord is most commonly used for fixing scaffolding sheeting to scaffolding. Can also be used on tarpaulins to help tie them down. The total length of each shock cord is approx 30cm and can stretch to a total of approx 40cms. Available in a 25 pack or 100 pack. Please note, on standard 12mm size eyelets, shock cords may not fit through the eyelet. Bungees Ball bungees are a popular tie down to help keep your tarpaulin in a fixed position. Feed the elasticated loop through an eyelet so the ball part fits snugly against the eyelet, then use the loop to attach to a fixed point. The ball and loop is approximately 20cms long but will increase to approximately 40cms when fully stretched. Available in a 10 pack, 30 pack or loose in larger boxed quantities of 1000 pcs. 29 Snap n tap eyelets Accessories Additional eyelets are always recommended to supplement the eyelets already available on a tarpaulin. The Snap n tap eyelets are 12mm in diameter with a male and female part. Simply pierce a hole in the material, mate the 2 parts of the eyelet together and snap together. Then use an implement like a mallet to bond the 2 parts of the eyelet tightly. Can be used on a wide variety of materials. Not recommended for use with the mono cover. Available in 10 or 50 packs. Brass eyelet kit Similar to the snap n tap eyelets, the brass eyelet kits are commonly used to replace worn or broken eyelets and can also be used to customise your own tarpaulin. Complete with an installation tool. The brass eyelets are available in a 30 pack. Sun Shade Hardware Pack All you need to secure your SunShade Sail. Available for both the Triangular SunShade Sail (6 pcs) and the Quadrilateral SunShade Sail (8 pcs). Anchors and Stakes Anchors and Stakes are designed for use with our line of shelters and pop up canopy. We recommend using one anchor for each leg. Tarpaulin repair tape Tarp Tape has been specifically designed to adhere to PE tarpaulins and hold fast to them in outdoor conditions. Widely used to repair rips and tears on tarps, join tarps together or reinforce weak spots, tarp tape is tough and hardy. Available in Blue, Clear, Green or in the standard 2 x 35 size or in or on the 3 x 108 size. Tarp Grabber Tarp grabbers are a versatile alternative to eyelets. Made from a strong recycled material they are up to 4 times stronger than brass eyelets. Easily installed they can help repair old tarpaulins in seconds and can be used with canvas or polyethylene tarpaulins. Available in a 4 or 12 pack. Sand bags Our polypropylene sand bags are traditionally used to help prevent flooding. They can also be used to weight items down including tarpaulins. Each sandbag is complete with string attached to seal the open end. Sand bags are supplied empty, sand is not included. Sand bag size is 80cm x 33cm and come in a 10 pack or larger quantities available loose. Cable ties Our black plastic cable ties are strong plastic ties widely used in the home or garden. Recommended to use on our debris netting they can also be used for fixing tarpaulins. Each cable tie is 28cm longs and is available in a pack of 100 ties. Tarp Zip Our Tarp Zip has an adhesive-backed zipper which is perfect for creating a simple, resealable access doorway. It installs in minutes without special tools and will permanently bond to any clean plastic sheeting (vinyl or poly). It lets you control air movement for temperature maintenance but, more importantly, it keeps dust from migrating throughout the house. The 84 long, heavy-duty, water proof #5 zipper is sewn to a 950-denier high-density polyethylene backing that has a permanent high-tack acrylic adhesive. The webbing is also disperse dyed meaning that the colouring won t rub onto your vehicle, boat or trailer when securing your cargo. 31 Frequently Asked Questions Can you manufacture made to measure covers? If your requirement is on a large scale we can order particular sizes from our factories in the Far East, however we work on a minimum 4 month lead time. Minimum quantities also apply, please contact us for details. For immediate requirements we can supply you with UK companies who specialise in bespoke covers, we can pass on these companies details upon request. Why is there a seam on my cover? Most tarpaulins need a seam as it is impossible to fabricate a tarpaulin without heat sealing several pieces of polyethylene together. A seam may not be necessary on some of the smaller sizes as they can be fabricated from one piece of material. This also applies to dust sheets where a seam is stitched. Do you offer a guarantee to the lifespan of your Products? No, although a limited UV warranty is offered on 250,270,350 and 560gsm tarpaulins ranging from 1 to 2 years, on these items please refer to individual product pages, our general information page and our website for further details. As all our tarpaulins will be subject to varying weather conditions and put to so many uses, we cannot guarantee the length of time they will last (except for the aforementioned UV warranty on certain products). Generally speaking a heavier grade tarpaulin is more likely to last longer than our economy grade tarps which we recommend for temporary uses. To maximise the lifespan of your tarpaulin we suggest to securely fasten your cover. Eyelets can come under a lot of pressure and stress points are recommended to be reinforced, fixing additional eyelets can help spread the load. Please avoid any sharp edges and constant friction which can reduce the lifespan of your cover. Shelters and canopies come with a limited 1 year warranty, please see our website for further details. What size are the eyelets/eyeholes and are they on all 4 sides of the tarpaulin? The standard inside eyelet diameter on our tarpaulins are approximately 12mm, on the black/silver Super Tarpaflex Plus and PVC covers it is currently 20mm. Eyelets are on all 4 corners and spaced all around the hemmed edges. Tarpaulins with riveted corner patches please expect the inside diameter to be approx 8mm. Knitted eyeholes on the debris netting are approximately 20mm wide when streched. The outline eyeholes on scaffold sheeting are approx 15mm diameter. How long until I receive my order? Next working day service is available for a surcharge, our cut off time is 4pm for parcel despatch and 2pm for pallet despacth. Can you send me a sample swatch? Yes. Genuinely faulty goods will be replaced or money refunded, however we must be advised of any faulty goods upon receipt of the item & no later than 14 days after delivery. An image of the fault is requested. All our products are guaranteed to be free of any defect at the time of purchase. If any item is found to be faulty we will refund or replace the product without charge. Any tarpaulin which is deemed to have missing or faulty eyelets will be limited to replacement eyelets only.
