4 One-day excursion nordic walking to the mountain farm Hovdungo The mountain farm Li is situated far up in the Aurlandsfjord valley. This is the home of our local guide, Gry, who will take us to Hovdungo (789 m). We follow the road people used to transport cattle to their summer pasture in the mountains. On our way, we see old hayfields, trees pruned by pollarding, coalmines and skuas. At Hovdungo mountain pasture, there are grazing sheep. The view of the fjord is magnificent, and can be enjoyed from different sides of the farm. We have local farm fare for lunch, and wander back down, stopping at several viewpoints over Aurlandsdalen valley, the Aurlandsfjord, Aurlandsvangen and Flåmsdalen valley. 5 one-day excursion hiking at stalheim, trip to NÅLI An exciting Heritage trail in the Nærøyfjorden world heritage park. Hiking with a saddled horse from Sivle Farm at Stalheim. You walk with a guide and have small stops along the trail where you will learn about the cultural landscape. 6 FJORD SAFARI + HIKING TO summer FARM skjerdal Try the best of two worlds - boattrip and hiking! Our trip starts from Flåm, where we take a RIB-boat tour into the Nærøyfjord, to Dyrdal. This area holds some of the most grand and dramatic fjord- and cultural landscape in Norway. People have lived here for hundreds of years, and the landscape is an important part of our cultural heritage. Along the way we make stops at attractions and spot for seals, porpoises and eagles. The guide will tell you about the fjord, local history and the wildlife; and share with you stories, tales and legends. We go ashore in Undredal. Duration: 5 hours Prices: Adults NOK 995. 7 One-day excursion Flåm valley and Rallarrosa FARM We take the famous Flåm Railway 20 km to the station Myrdal and walk slowly for an hour down the valley. Your guide will tell you about the history of the many mountain farms you pass. There will be a stop at Rallarrosa mountain farm in Kårdalen where you get a guided tour and a short insight in making their goat cheese. After cheese tasting and a delicious lunch, you have time to see some of the many goats before the journey continues back to Flam. You will experience several spectacular waterfalls and rivers on the journey. During the roughly fourhour tour, you will get plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful nature and the silence Flam Valley can offer. Minimum 2 person. Architectural historic walk on Lærdalsøyri We go on an architectural history tour of the old village of Lærdalsøyri with architectural historian Hallvard Trohaug as our guide. The 170 heritage wood buildings range in style from neo-classical to Swiss style and Art Deco. There are also many charming gardens to look at in the area. Originally, these paths were part of main route for horse and carriage between Oslo and Bergen. This hike starts and ends at the Borgund stave church. Well signed, easy to walk, some uphill during the last part, and a lovely scenery. Finish with a coffee at the visitors centre. The offer includes a guided visit in the Borgund stave church, packed lunch including water, a map of the walk and a well-deserved coffee at the visitors centre afterwards. Duration: appr. 2 hours. Holo Farm specialises in traditional Norwegian lamb products such as cured and smoked meat. We serve our own home-made traditional beer. Meals are served in an old, renovated house on the farm. Our turning point is at Bakka stray, where we also see into Gudvangen the end of the fjord. This is the narrowest part of the fjord. We go ashore in Undredal, a little village squeezed in between tall mountains. Undredal is inhabited by 85 people and almost 500 goats! To no surprise the specialty of this village is the production of goat cheese, and you will get to taste it, brown and white! You will also hear about the tradition of cheese production, and you may listen to folktales and folksongs.
