GENERAL MANAGER MESSAGE Back in May, I announced that Mark III Media and Gray Television had donated the license of KGWC-TV, Channel 14 in Casper, to Central Wyoming College. This was part of a larger agreement between Mark III and Gray. While the FCC had approved the transfer, I m sorry to report that the donation offer has been withdrawn. I ve relayed to both Mark III and Gray that we are still interested in pursuing the donation should the opportunity arise in the future. Local production is in full swing in November. As you saw on the cover, we have two new episodes of Farm to Fork premiering. The new season of Capitol Outlook also premieres with an interview with the incoming Governor of the state. November s Wyoming Chronicle starts with a look at Hot Springs State Park and ends with a feature on Six Songs from Ellis, a multimedia dance-theatre production choreographed and directed by UW Professor Marsha Knight and co-directed by UW Professor Leigh Selting. In November of 2016, WyomingPBS premiered Producer Geoff O Gara s The Drift, the story of the Green River Drift cattle drive. Geoff has expanded the story, adding thirty minutes of new content, so this November we hope to premiere The Drift: The Director s Cut. Finally, something a little out of the ordinary. Broadway comes to WyomingPBS! On the first two Friday s in November, you can watch Great Performances specials, An American in Paris: The Musical, and Rogers & Hammerstein s The Sound of Music. Turn up the volume! As always, thank you for watching (and streaming) and thank you for being part of the WyomingPBS family. Donations which are eligible for other thank you gifts are tax deductible, less the reasonable cost of the gift. WyomingPBS Education Services A new resource for art educators have been added to the WyomingPBS Education Collection on WyomingPBS LearningMedia. The resource is a lesson for 6th- 12th grade students based on the WyomingPBS documentary Painting the Falls of Yellowstone. Students will watch portions of the documentary and learn about artist Thomas Moran s role in saving Yellowstone and the impact of art on society. Students will view an artist s process of planning and creating art and then have the opportunity to plan and create their own landscape painting. November 29th is Nellie Tayloe Ross Day. Lessons to teach K-12th graders about the first woman governor and all Wyoming Education Resources are available at wyomingpbs.org/ learningmedia. WyomingPBS Education Coordinator, Carol Garber, will come to your school or organization and train educators on PBSLearningMedia at no charge.
