Meet at Toronto Pearson International Airport and embark on your flight to Manchester. Wednesday, August 14th Cocktail Reception and Dinner. We touch down in Manchester where our guide will meet us and whisk us to our city centre hotel where you will have time to settle in- rest or unpack- before we meet for a welcome reception and an early informal dinner in the hotel. (D) Thursday, August 15th - Manchester City Sights What better way to explore the city of Manchester than by land and water? After a drive around to get your bearings and a photo stop at Manchester United's Old Trafford stadium we take to the famous canal system. Board a traditional barge for sight-seeing and a light lunch before a mid-afternoon return to the hotel. In the evening, it's time to have your cameras at the ready for nearby relaxed pub dinner with a special surprise guest! (B, L, D) Friday, August 16th Liverpool Sights Today we head for world-famous city of Liverpool, home of a dazzling waterfront and birthplace of the Beatles. We will take in some of the many sights: the two Cathedrals, the Three Graces, Penny Lane, Strawberry Field, the Cavern Club where the Beatles famously performed, and Albert Dock for some free time either side of a fish and chip lunch, where you may choose to visit the Beatles Story. This evening is free to put your feet up and perhaps enjoy a pint in a local pub. (B, L) Saturday, August 17 th Corrie Locations It s a Corrie crazy day! We travel around Greater Manchester today taking in some of the classic filming locations featured in the show down the years. Then, over coffee and cake, at a family run garden centre Corrie expert Mark Llewellin will entertain you with tales of Corrie s past. Then, after a short rest, we take a stroll to dinner at a city centre restaurant owned by Jennie McAlpine (Fiz). (B, T, D) Sunday, August 18 th - Blackpool Today we take to the coast and enjoy a day in the famous seaside resort of Blackpool with its piers, legendary tower, pleasure beach and more. We'll include admission to the glittery tower ballroom with afternoon tea and Madam Tussauds waxworks with its Coronation St exhibits! You'll also some free time to explore the town before we head back to our hotel in Manchester -maybe catch a Corrie episode! (B, T, A) Monday, August 19th Salford Quays, Studios It s off to the borough of Trafford today home to ITV studios and the Coronation Street sets. We ll have an exclusive tour where you ll see inside and outside sets. After a bit of free time to rest up and start packing we ll head to a gala dinner with surprise VIP guest. (B, A, D) Tuesday, August 20th Manchester Oxford This morning after our Corrie fix we bid farewell to Manchester as we travel to Oxford, City of dreaming spires, which boasts one of the worlds oldest universities, as well as some of the most elegant architecture in Europe. Also known to millions of TV viewers as the setting for Inspector Morse and Lewis. After a guided walking tour of some of the sights we check into our Oxford hotel for the next 2 nights and enjoy dinner in the hotel. (B,D) Wednesday, August 21st Highclere Castle We re going back in history today as we celebrate one of British TV s biggest hits Downton Abbey. We begin with walks around Cotswold villages to take in several filming locations. This afternoon we visit Highclere Castle the family home of the Earl and Countess of Carnarvon which doubles as the home of Grantham family on TV. Time to explore the Castle, Gardens and Egyptian Exhibition. Tonight is free to take dinner at your leisure (with or without a Butler!) (B, A) Thursday August 22nd Windsor We leave Oxford for London. En route we visit the historic town of Windsor and the famous castle which recently provided the stunning fairytale setting for the marriage of Prince Harry and Megan, now the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Windsor Castle is the oldest and largest inhabited Castle in the world and an official residence of Her Majesty The Queen, whose standard flies from the Round Tower when she is in residence. Continue to our London hotel to check in for a 3 night stay and group dinner.
