Note that the name tags are magnetically attached, no pins are used. ARCHWAY ANNUAL CLUB PICNIC This year s the annual Archway Olds Club picnic was located at Faust park and we enjoyed food and fun with about 38 club members and their families. The overall sentiment of the club members was to return to the Greensfelder shelter at Creve Couer County park.. The county system allows the booking of a shelter one year in advance. The club attempted to book the shelter on the 15OCT2017 and it was already taken. An attempt was made to book another shelter in the park and it was taken while we were online booking. At the next club meeting, a short presentation will be provided with area parks which offer shelters, year round restrooms and electricity. Please feel free to bring your suggestions as we look for alternatives to our annual picnic. 1

President s Message Howdy to all, hope everyone is doing well. Mary Wilson had a Gall Bladder removed on Monday October 23rd. Steve sent me a message that the surgery went well and Mary is on her way back home. Please keep Mary in your prayers that she has an uneventful speedy recovery. Hope to see her at our next meeting. I would like to thank Mike Myers and Kevin Beutelmann for organizing out annual club picnic on Sunday October 8th. All went very well at our new location at Faust County Park. A very nice place overall. It was a beautiful day. A lot of activities around us at this park, hope you visited one or more of the butterfly house, merry go round caracell ride or the old buildings on display. Thank you all who brought something for our picnic. It was a very nice relaxing day for the members who attended. At our club meeting after the picnic it seemed the membership wanted to go back to our quiet Greensfelder Pavilion. Once that pavilion became available someone had already reserved it. It must be a popular place now. SO here is an opportunity for the total membership involvement. If you want the picnic in your neighborhood for 2018 bring the location up at the next meeting. We will need where, pavilion and pit and bathrooms close by and electric. A playground would be a plus. Also, it would be nice to have a quiet place where we can drive our Oldsmobiles. Here is an opportunity for each member to have the club 2018 picnic in your area all you have to do is some homework of electric, pavilion out of the weather and sun and also pit to cook on and a quiet place so we can drive our Oldsmobiles. Bring your suggestions to the next meeting so we can discuss and look into the cost and maybe get the rest to decide on your suggestion. Gerald is in the process of ordering the 2018 Club Calendars. Have you ordered your yet for 2018 at $20.00 each cost. If you need to add your birthday or anniversary, please email him now so you can be added. It may be too late at this time but if you tell us your birthday or anniversary we can use it in the future. Contact Gerald and include Kevin so all have this information. The Archway Olds Club won club participation at the Immaculate Conception Church Car Show on Saturday 14th. This was Steve Wilson's baby hosting the Knights of Columbus Car Show and I believe all went very smooth for his inaugural show. Archway Olds club had 16 cars registered with 20 members attending. The first place club participation won $75.00. The club made a decision to give it back during the car event. That made the others club with 2nd place (Fords Unlimited) and 3rd place ( unknown ) had to give their funds back, thus the winners were really the Knights of Columbus. It was a fun time for all attending this day. Bob Habermehl had me laughing and rolling on the ground with his dancing or torquing you should call it. He can shake it! Continued next page 2

President s Message (continued From previous page) The Archway Oldsmobile Club came out again the next Saturday October 21st to help Melva and Steve with their car show Save the Tower". We had 8 or 9 cars attend. Good to see that Ohren and Connie attended both of these car shows, all the way from Vandalia Illinois. Long distance awards goes to them for both car shows. Larry won the Best of Class with his red 1988 Trofeo. Thank you all who took the time and money to support our club members and their car shows here in October. I hope you had a good time with our membership and enjoyed the companionship of our club. You all can take the next few weeks off now. Thank you! Just a reminder the 2017 Archway Christmas Brunch will be at Andrea's Banquet Center 4254 Telegraph 63129 in South County. The October club newsletter had all the information on page 3. If you plan on attending you Must have your RSVP in the mail prior to November 15th. See last month newsletter for location and the registration sheet so fill out and mail in now so you don't forget. Again the club will pay for the members Christmas Brunch and you partner will only cost $22.00 for adults or $11.00 for children. Please consider attending this fun club event. We hold this during the day for your safety. Will Santa show up this year? Again this time of year are the nominations of 2018 club officers and time to decide if you would like to run for a position and get further involved in this club. We can always use new ideas along with new officers as not to get this club in a rut. Please consider volunteering for a 2018 club position. We can use some relief of members holding their positions year after year. Look at your club president just staying in the way of progress. Again consider getting further involved. We can use some new members or associates to take a position. There are new acquisitions that members have purchased recently. Come to the next meeting to find out whom purchased Oldsmobile's in the last 30 days. Hope to see you at our next monthly club meeting at the Sports cafe on Tuesday November 14th.
