Overview of the CBD COP 12 Official name of the meeting - (Korean) 제12차생물다양성협약당사국총회 - (English) The Twelfth Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD COP-12) Meeting date : 2014. 9. 29 ~ 10. 17 (3 weeks) MOP7 COP12 (COP-MOP 1 will be held, if the Nagoya Protocol comes into force) 9.29 10.3 10.6 10.17 Meeting venue : (Alpensia Convention Center, PyeongChang, Gangwon Province, Republic of Korea) Approximately 20,000 people are expected to participate

Anticipated Issues of the COP12 Conduct mid-term review of the Aichi Biodiversity Target and discuss future roadmap for implementation of the Aichi Target Establish implementation system for the Nagoya Protocol Sustainable development and biodiversity Establish cooperation in science and technology, build biological information system, and enhance capacity building for developing countries, and assess the implementation tools in achieving objectives of the Convention and provide further direction
