Overview of the CBD COP 12 Official name of the meeting - (Korean) 제12차생물다양성협약당사국총회 - (English) The Twelfth Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD COP-12) Meeting date : 2014. 9. 29 ~ 10. 17 (3 weeks) MOP7 COP12 (COP-MOP 1 will be held, if the Nagoya Protocol comes into force) 9.29 10.3 10.6 10.17 Meeting venue : (Alpensia Convention Center, PyeongChang, Gangwon Province, Republic of Korea) Approximately 20,000 people are expected to participate

Promote discussion on biodiversity and lead its implementation Leadership in effectuation of the Nagoya Protocol Setting a goal for sustainable development in 2015 UN biodiversity Launch and support of The Korea Biodiversity Initiative Establish a milestone to enhance global biodiversity at the CBD COP12
