The area is also popular for bird watching due to the abundant bird life and the possibility of spotting the elusive Grey Wagtail. There are picnic facilities and short walking trails along the river. Sunland Baobab Kings Walden Garden Manor Enjoy the incredible mountain views and the country gardens. Kings Walden combines international excellence and African warmth and legend in a spectacular mountain setting. A series of meandering paths connect the exquisite gardens, streams and water features. At the heart of all this is the Bibigar ornamental lake guarded by a pair of giant sphinxes. The themed gardens include the White garden, with iceberg roses, camellias and zebra grass and the Italian style garden with trellises and statuses. The Sunland Baobab is a well-known enormous baobab. The tree is located on sunland Farm, near Modjadjiskloof, Limpopo Province. The Sunland Bib Baobab is renowned because in its hollowed trunk there is an established bar and wine cellar. The tree has been carbon dated and is estimated to be around 6000 years old which would make it one of the oldest trees in the world. The trunk of the tree consists of two parts each with its own enormous hollow and connected with a narrow passage.

Nearby Attractions Djuma Game Reserve Djuma is a private game reserve situated in the famous Sabi Sand Game Reserve which is part of the greater Kruger National Park. It was started almost twenty years ago as a safari lodge by the Moolman family and is renowned for the quality of its game safaris. Guides and trackers not only know the ways of the African bush they are able to follow the various fascinating animals including the Big 5 by reading the signs of the wild and following them. A trip through this reserve is a definite once in a lifetime experience. Kruger National Park This legendary Game Reserve covers an area of almost 19 500 square km and is home to a wide variety of plant and animal life, as well as the big 5, you will also find buffalo, zebra, giraffe, hippopotamus, wildebeest, kudu, hyena and much much more. The park offers game drives as well as walking tours of the park.

Nearby Attractions Fishing spots in the area The area is home to the Haenertsburg Trout Association who have favoured spots at Stanford Lake, the Broederstroom River and Helpmekaar River. This organisation makes sure fishing in the area is regulated and the rivers and lakes are always well stocked. Other favoured spots include Diepgelegen Dam, Dodingtins Weir and Ebenezer Dam amongst others all stocked with a variety of Bass and Trout (No Brown Trout can be kept). Magoebaskloof Berry Festival The festival is held in the beginning of February every year and is open from 10h00 till 16h00. The festival covers a series of farms where visitors can pick and eat their own berries at leisure.

Guest Reviews 1 Very good weekend away in this hotel with my colleagues. I enjoyed it. We arrived to a great dinner on friday, joined by Jacques Slabbert the General Manager and other staff members. We were like 1 happy family like we always knew each other. A great service at the bar. I had a peaceful good night sleep and i woke up to a wonderful breakfast with variety of food. We took a tour to the waterfall, very challenging for fitness,but worth it. The rest of the weekend went all excellent, I love it. 2 3 4 My special thanks to Jacques the General Manager at Magoebaskloof Hotel. We had a memorable evening at the pool and pub. The food was excellent - best cheff ever!!!! Friendly staff. Slept like babies and the view was wonderful from our room and the Hotel verandah. Thank for going the extra mile when we ordered breakfast in bed after a late night. We followed your advise Jacques on places to visit in the area and my favourite was the Debegeni Waterfalls and lunch at the Wheelbarrow was lovely. I would like to take this oppertunity to thank all the personelle for a wonderful weekend away. I would recommend to anyone looking for a escape from the busy city life. My two daughters aged 12 and 5 and I spent an amazing evening at the magoebaskloof hotel on 5 July 2013. This was an unplanned road trip that led us to the warmth and hospitality of the magoebaskloof hotel. Each and every staff member made our stay fantastic we really felt like royalty. 5 If you are looking for a nice quiet and secluded getaway from all the hustle and bustle of the city life, this is the place to go.
